Hey! I don't know if you know me, and if you don't, hi!
I'm Semper Magis, and I want to rp. My favourite genre for rp is historical, but I'm totally open to everything and I kind of like comic-book stuff and fantasy too.
All I require is someone advanced enough for ten lines of literate rp, which I promise is not asking for much.
So, please, let me know know if you're interested x

Okay, so piracy? We can do something generic like a rich girl getting captured by pirates? I don't have very many ideas for that time period but I would kind of love to rp it. I sometimes do something with the Spanish Armada, like a Spanish prisoner on a English navy ship?)

rubs my filthy fly hands together man i have so many ideas for piracy my dude u dont even know
one is based around a new treasure emerging, but the dangers being so huge that two small crews come together & buy a larger ship & it's based around the captains hitting conflict together, since they're both captains & neither particularly want to be demoted (and their respective crews refuse to vote for the other crew's captain); so the ship has two captains and that's a huge source of conflict
or a merperson one where a pirate ship attacks a navy ship & find a captured merperson, and they take it aboard due to rumours that after six moons, merpeople can grant wishes (which later turns out to be wrong)
or theres one with a small crew trying to raise themselves in ranks & sorta their journey up?? a quieter, more slice-of-lifey pirate one but. ya

The ship was sturdy and large - a frigate, rather than the smaller ship that he was used to. It was named the Serpent's Bane, sleek and fast and made of a dark wood, though he couldn't quite pick out what it was. Walnut, maybe. Captain Isak tapped the toe of his sturdy boot against the deck lightly as his crew spread out to explore, his First Mate standing by his side for a few moments. He put his hands on his hips and tilted his head upward, narrowing his dark gaze against the sunlight. Honestly, his hat only shadowed his face slightly.
"Captain," said his First Hand, Maria, "what do you want me to do?"
"Keep the crew in line. Stop any possible fights. Don't get into one yourself. I'm going to see the Captain's Cabin, see if I can lay first claim."
Maria looked vaguely amused at the young Captain's antics, but gave a nod of her head and quickly followed the most trouble-making of the small crew of the Mermaid's Dagger. Well - no, now that they had this ship instead, they weren't that crew anymore. Isak considered this as he pushed open the door of the Captain's Cabin and entered, looking around before he nodded. It was a decent size, larger than his old quarters, and the desk was perfect for cartography. His fingers itched to pick up a quill and a bottle of ink and begin marking out a map, but he refrained from doing so. Instead, he wandered over to the desk and took off his hat, setting it down lightly. He ran a hand through tousled white-blond hair, darker strands here and there, dark eyebrows raising. He pulled a map from inside his coat and spread it out lightly, using a few round pieces of metal to keep it in place. The map, itself, presented the possible destinations for the newfound treasure; something that had purposes unknown. As someone who enjoyed the idea of discovered, he craved it.
Alas, it was to be a dangerous path, and that was why he had sought to expand his crew and gain a larger ship. Not only were the waters teeming with Navy nearer the coast of Spain and France, but there were said to be mystical forces. He did not take that lightly. Isak bit his lip and tapped his slender fingers against the parchment, brows pulling down.
It had only just occurred to him to wonder what the other Captain would be like. He had never stopped to think about the Captains of other ships; what mattered was his crew, and his crew alone. Yet...the other Captain would soon be part of his crew, and that was something that was new to him. Would the Captain and their crew be from various places, or from one? Isak's crew were primarily Norwegian and Danish and Swedish - he was the scourge of Scandinavia. Probably. He hadn't long been a Captain - elected only two or three years ago, but he was doing his best. He was a man in his prime, and nothing could stop him.
Isak exhaled slowly through his nose and awaited the other Captain.

Alejandro and his crew were likely not what the Scandinavian crew had been expecting. Already the crew of the Neptune's Thunder were clashing a little with those of the other crew, despite efforts on both sides to calm the tensions.
The Spanish and the Scandinavians were both apparently very fierce and aggressive, causing a few fights a,on the crew already, though these were quickly quashed.
Alejandro Barros was average height, though short compared to many tall Scandinavian crew members. He had dark, honey-toned skin and deep brown hair, which naturally curled quite close to his head, a telltale sign of his Spanish heritage.
His shoes clicked on the wood of the ship as the man headed towards the Captain's Quarters. He would definitely want to meet the captain of this other crew.
It wasn't something Alejandro particularly wanted, merging the crews like this, but the two were very small crews in a very large and dangerous pirating world and if either crew wanted a chance of ever finding this treasure Captain Isaak had informed him of, their only option was to merge the crews and try and search forever.
The Spaniard stopped outside of the closed door of the Captain's Quarters, giving a little knock to announce his arrival before entering.
As soon as he entered, he gave a nod of greeting to the other man "Captain Isaak, I presume?" He asked "I'm Captain Alejandro."

Sharp hearing caused Isak to hear the other Captain before he arrived, and he turned his head to the side. He raised an eyebrow as he glanced to Captain Alejandro - who possibly had a couple of inches on him in height, but that was not something he cared about. He watched the other man for a few moments, considering the various approaches he could have for this conversation.
"Ja," he said, after a few moments, "ja, that's me," he gave a small bob of his head before his gaze flicked back down to the map, fingers still drumming over the wood of the table underneath. From beyond the door, he could already hear the scuffles - and Maria's loud, distinctive voice switching between various Scandinavian languages. It wasn't a hard thing to do, for his crew. Eventually, languages blended together and switched. Isak was one of the few English-speaking members of his crew; the language barrier would eventually be overcome, considering that while they could not speak it, a good portion of his crew could at least understand it.
How to bring up the topic of which of them was going to be the Captain felt like a delicate, tricky process that he did not particularly wish to pull up. Instead, he stood up straight and turned to face Alejandro entirely, head angling to the side and lips parting.
"The Serpent's Bane is a beautiful ship," he settled on after a brief moment of considering things.

(Well, I have a couple of Ancient Roman plots that usually go down well if you're interested. So one is my guy is a gladiator, and your guy/girl (unless you want fxf, in which case my charrie can be a girl) is the child of the Roman Emperor. It's an unlikely relationship. My guy catches your charrie's attention, but loses their fight that day, tuning their vote to the crowd. Your charrie votes to save the life of mine, and we go from there. So in the other one my charrie is the daughter of a Celtic chief who is standing in for their ailing father in battle against the Romans. Your charrie is a Roman soldier who carries out order to capture my charrie, and we go from there.

Alejandro nodded "Yes, she is very finely crafted and very beautiful. It seems like this will be quite a big change for everyone, bit hopefully the crew will grew used to each other before long."
The fighting between the crews would definitely have to stop, and it was clear that among angry Scandinavian shouts came angry Spanish voices, each language sounding more angry at the fact they couldn't yet understand each other too well. The inability to communicate well was only feeding the aggressions between the two crews.
He could tell that the other man was skipping over a subject, and it was obvious to both of them what it was. But Alejandro was also reluctant to bring it up, not wanting to start an unnecessary argument so early in the voyage. No, these things would have to wait until a later time, when things were more stable and the men could make a proper decision without rushing anything or getting too heated about the topic. Perhaps once they had not been captains for a while they would be able to debate the matter more easily and without arguing.

"The language barrier is a problem, but it will be overcome within passing months," Isak nodded crossed his arms, drumming his fingers against his arm. He looked over Alejandro as he listened to the distant fighting; though it was becoming fainter with time passing. It was possible that they were finding neutral ground - or perhaps Maria had killed both crews. Either way, he was grateful, for his head had begun to hurt.
He picked his hat up and set it atop his head again, running his tongue over his bottom teeth as he tried to find something to talk with the other Captain about.
"It is not usual for there to be two Captains," he said, deciding that he might as well breach the topic.
