Jasmineheart lowered her head, the she-cat beginning to cry again. "We lost mother and now the three of us are fighting. I can't lose you two as well." Splashstone seemed to lose some of his coldness at that, the once relaxed warrior sitting back on his haunches with a hollow and saddened sheen to his eyes. He turned away from his sisters, silent once more as his thoughts stewed in his mind. Was his father suffering in Riverclan? Had it come there too, ready to snatch him away as it did with their mother? Furyflame sighed as the situation seemed to dissolve, moving to press her muzzle to Jasmineheart's shoulder. "Look, I...sorry, I know I let my temper get the best of me...I'm not going anywhere, I promise." |

Stormfury laughed slightly. "To be honest you just get used to it. When you're born on the moor having trees above you seems strange and scary. As apprentices my littermates and I would wonder how any of the other Clans saw StarClan, and why they wanted to block them out with trees." He glanced up at the sky as he spoke. He had to admit it was nice to have the sky overhead, especially now.
Silverspirit shook her head. "It did but....I don't know....he was so miserable....maybe this was all for the best...his best at least."
Swiftstar shook his head. "I have more than one life to live for this clan. I'm not taking any care from Eclipsesky or Dawnshadow until everyone else has it." He coughed again. "I'm fine."

Jasmineheart leaned against Furyflame, sparing a glance at their brother before turning back to her sister. "Okay. I know we're all grieving. But mother raised us to believe in Starclan. I can't turn my back on them now, especially when she walks among them."

Eclipsesky turned to look at Silverspirit in the eye, the tom looked rather conflicted "Maybe it was for the best. If he didn't leave, I don't think you and I would be as close as we are. Perhaps that's what's meant to be." Fallowmeadow sighed, "Alright, I would like you to know the rest of our kits have arrived safely and most of the clan has settled in. I believe Blacktail would like to talk to you though." |

I can't turn my back on them now, especially when she walks among them." "I...guh. I know." Furyflame sighed lightly, her head ducking as her prior words stung in her mouth. She knew it was not the fault of Starclan, merely her need to blame something...Though, it seemed by the way Splashstone did not react, that he was more genuine in his lack of trust in their ancestors. She missed how calm and fun he had used to be, before they had known of their father in Riverclan. |

The subject was far touchier for their brother, even if she herself hardly cared about her half-clan blood. She did think about the Riverclan tom though...now their remaining parent, if he was alive.

Jasmineheart let out pitiful laugh, "I can only stand them for the short time of the gathering. Anymore and my nose might fall off." she sniffed, trying to pull herself together as they changed the conversation. She wasn't going to cry anymore, she couldn't.

Stormfury laughed "Yeah no RiverClan have rabbit tails for brains" he curled his tail as a wave of guilt swept over him. "It feels wrong to laugh" he said softly.
Silverspirit returned the medicine cat's gaze. "Maybe...I'm just thankful to have you....I....I wish..." she trailed off again, her courage failing.
Swiftstar looked to Blacktail who was waiting for him, and then back to his mate. "Stay with me." he murmured to her, not wanting to let Fallowmeadow out of his sight. Coughing, he turned to Blacktail. "Thank you for leading the clan here. I'm sure many cats owe you their life."

You must get checked for injuries, Swiftstar." He urged. |

Swiftstar flicked his tail dismissively "I'm find Blacktail. Let the rest of the clan get checked first. It's good to hear about Heathersky." he said, pausing to cough again "I'll have to pay her a visit. Are nests being made and a temporary nursery?" He asked.

“Yes.” Blacktail flicked his ear at Swiftstar’s stubbornness, but did not question it. Wolfstar and Scarstar had been exactly the same, when it came to injuries. He mewed. “All of the apprentices gathered nesting material, and cleared out the old hollow spots in the camp. Luckily, the gorse and bracken up here are safe from the fire.”

Thistlestalk's smile dropped but he nodded his head slowly "I suppose it is. The clans are different, but we are all united under Starclan." he paused, twitching his whiskers as thoughts raced through his mind "I really hope the other clans are okay."
Eclipsesky tilted his head, narrowing his eyes in concern "You wish what Silverspirit? What's wrong?"
Fallowmeadow hummed, staying by Swiftstar's side silently as Blacktail spoke

Swiftstar nodded. "That's good to hear. Make sure hunting patrols go out. I want to know how badly prey was affected by the fire and where the best places to hunt are. Go beyond highstones if you have to, the clan needs food." He leaned against Fallowmeadow, exhausted, but determined not to show weakness. His clan needed him.
Stormfury nodded, looking up at the sky "I hope StarClan will bring us all together after this fire....we can't afford to have more fights."
Silverspirit shook her head and glanced away "I wish things were different" she whispered.

Fallowmeadow adjusted her paws to allow Swiftstar to lean more heavily on her."The patrols should probably have a cat that was here during Adderclan times. That way they at least have some familiarity of the areas." she added quietly.
Thistlestalk shook his head "I'm worried fights will break out due to the lack of prey. Everything is probably charred or gone."
Eclipsesky's head was whirling as he tried to dissect what Silverspirit could be saying, his mind raced back to what they had talked about earlier. His face falling as he came to a conclusion. "You wish I wasn't a medicine cat."

"I understand...Please, Swiftstar, at the least, do get some rest. I will manage the hunting patrols." Blacktail nodded, looking at the younger tom with deep care, before he turned to move his way back into the Highstones camp. He looked around, before lifting his dark tail.
"We must get hunting patrols out. I want the most able bodied warriors to gather here. Mentors wo are able and the apprentices will scout out near the Highstones. The other warriors will make their way farther out, beyond Highstones and into the territory or beyond. We will do what we must...Additionally, I do not want anyone to lose hope. We are Windclan, and we are stronger than this fire. We will recover, and we will do it through dedication and the will to keep eachother standing." He mewed, nodding his head.
"Wolfstep, Birchstep, Sunstep (XD steppin on the beach), I want you to lead the apprentices around the base of Highstones, see if you can find any prey amongst the stones. Ashsong, I want you to lead a patrol of moor-runners down further on the moors at the base of the Highstones, but only after you're certain that there is no sign of the fire spreading in your direction. I will lead the tunnelers down towards the closest tunnels to Highstones, and see if we can flush out any hiding prey. Russetpelt, Stonepath, and Streamfrost, I entrust you to guard the Highstones camp entrance." He instructed.

Swiftstar nodded at his mate's suggestion and looked on proudly as Blacktail assigned patrols. He was thankful that his deputy had so much experience and needed little reassurance or direction. He decided not to address the clan just yet, there was too much work to be done. He leaned against Fallowmeadow, his body racking with silent coughs. Maybe he couldn't address the clan even if he wanted to. "Birchstep wait." He called to the tunneler. "I need to speak to you a moment"
Stormfury nodded. "RiverClan will have a whole river full of fish, but the rest of the clans? We aren't that lucky....or rabbit-brained."
Silverspirit looked at Eclipsesky. "No...you do so much for the clan and the clan needs you...but..." but I need you too she finished the thought in her head. "...no...the clan needs you and you're so good at what you do. I would never take that away from you."

Fallowmeadow frowned as she felt her mate's body shake from his internal coughing. She made a mental note to get him water and perhaps some honey from Eclipsesky when she had a moment.
Thistlestalk sighed, "Shadowclan already struggles to find prey. I hope the carrionplace hasn't been disturbed by the fire. That may be our only chance."
Eclipsesky looked away from her, his heart heavy. He knew in his heart what he felt for Silverspirit was probably more than just friendship, but being a medicine cat was his whole life. He's not sure he was willing to give that up for anyone. "I-..." the tom fell silent as he struggled to find words. "I'm sorry Silverspirit. I'm so.. confused right now. I don't know what to say."
Wolfstep dipped his head to the deputy, waiting for his patrol to gather.

He couldn't remember the last time he saw his brother happy. Harewhisker had been bitter toward Dashclaw because his brother didn't seem to get punished for his attempt to leave the Clan or his neglect of their father and then Dashclaw was blessed with a mate and kits right away? When it was Harewhisker's dream to become a father and pass on his skills? The tunneler leaned against his mate, taking in her sweet scent. Now, he was finally having the chance to have his own mate and kits, and if Dashclaw had been punishing himself all this time...maybe...just maybe Harewhisker could ease up on him. |

Swiftstar continued to lean on his mate. "I wanted to talk to you about Dashclaw's training." He began "How has it been going?"
Stormfury nodded. "We might have to go to new territories." he said. "I hope it'll be okay."
Silverspirit nodded, her ears falling flat to her head "I know...I am too. I know you love being a medicine cat. I would never take that from you." she whispered, not sure what to say and feeling embarassed.
Frostpetal brushed against her mate. "I love you, and I know you'll make the right decision...I just want you to think about these things before you do something you'll regret."

Dashclaw padded to one of the back corners of Highstones, he was coughing still, but he started grooming the leg that had been caught in the tunnel collapse. It wasn't too injured, but it would be sore for a while. What's more is that Dashclaw wanted to get all the dirt off of him. He would roll in the river if that's what it took.
Harewhisker let out a soft sigh. "I know." Frostpetal was always wiser with these things than he was. "I love you too, Frostpetal."

Eclipsesky buried his face in her fur, taking in her scent. He chuckled bitterly, "Is Starclan out to get us Silverspirit? Is this a test? I-I think I love you, but I love being a medicine cat. I owe this clan my life and I cannot give up my duties now." he looked around, scoffing as he looked at the place he used to find so comforting. "It's ironic that this is where we're having this conversation. The place I decided to start training as a medicine cat."
