The Royals (Join for Cat Politics)

'Anybody can come into the garden!' Fox spat, suddenly finding herself as angry as the adults despite her younger age- she was almost twelve moons anyways, and wasn't the future in the hands of the younger generation?
'Anybody could have sneaked in here and taken the lethal herbs!'

"Well, I'm pretty sure the royal cats have access to all the herbs in the garden!  The Ancestors know any herbalist would loyally let a royal cat into the garden, thinking their search for herbs was innocent.  I still believe it was you, because if you were any other innocent--any other normal and fully functioning--cat, you'd calmly think about what you said before you say it!" Maplefall found her own stump to stand on and leaped up, not wanting to seem below or any less just as Thunderheart. "I can't believe you would be so stupid as to think any herbalist is disloyal!  We are all loyal to the king--and, apparently, not to you, as you can't even use your stupid head and trust us like a real royal cat should!"


(Alternately:

Maplefall stalked forward.

"I may not know who poisoned the king," she began, eyes narrowing and tail lashing, "but I know a bad leader when I see one!  He's standing right in front of me!"

As Fox stood up to the adults Flint couldn't help but feel bad the other apprentices was only four moons older but she brimmed with self-confidence and she was write. The garden was a frees space for all cats not just the herbalists. She outstretched a paw as if to join the centre of the discussion but she pulled it back again It wasn't like anyone would listen to her.

Duskstorm leapt into the room and sprinted over to Stoneheart, skidding to a halt and dropping the items. He forced the king to eat the yarrow, before shoving him onto his belly and sitting on his hind legs to knead the king's back and hopefully entice him to vomit the contents up again.
'Dewfern, take the wet moss and clean his mouth area. Carefully.' He ordered, finding himself grateful of his ability to stay calm in any given situation.

'That is unjust and cruel!' Fox snarled, tail lashing as she ran forwards and leapt up directly in front of the Royal. She stood as high as she possibly could, raising her tail for some extra size, and raised her head again. 'You cannot blame everyone else for one cats misdeed- you should investigate! You're going about this violently and angrily and that is ridiculous for someone of your stature. You should be comforting us, not yelling at us! Can't you see that we are scared too?'

Pinestep padded forward, tail lashing. "Kits, kits, calm down, Thunderheart, all of you. There's no use in accusing anyone," His gaze travelling around the room. "If anyone here actually did poison the king, they sure wouldn't want to step forwards. Besides, what if there was something outside the castle that poisoned him? What if.." He thought hard, another conspiracy theory forming in him mind. "What if this is some elaborate plan by outsiders, so that they can take over? They would be doing a pretty good job, the king is poisoned and everyone is yelling their heads off at each other. Or what if.. The lizard people are finally trying to take over?! They could.." he continued in a ramble that would be hard for anyone to understand.

(Oh my gosh Pinestep I'm dying. I can't handle this role play anymore. XD)

- - Thunderheart

"Why should I comfort a bunch of traitors?" Thunderheart yowled. "I know what you've all been saying about my family--you think we're unfit to rule! But I kept my faith that you would have patience with us while we grieved. You are unfit to be ruled by us! And since nobody wants to come forward . . ." Thunderheart raked his gaze over them. "I will give you some time to mull over your crime. I'm sure you know that we have stones put in place to prevent rats from escaping the rats nest, and to prevent kits from falling into it. If whoever did this does not come to the royal tower and confess by moonhigh, then I will have those stones removed. This castle will swarm with rats, and everyone will suffer because of what the traitor did." He jumped down from his perch and stormed out of the garden, going heading for the royal tower.

((my first plan was to have him cut off everyone's access to the food storage but then I realized, How Is That Possible, so this is...still pretty far-fetched but hopefully a little more believable. WHATEVER THIS IS ABOUT CATS LIVING IN AN ADVANCED SOCIETY IN A CASTLE))

- - Sandstripe

Sandstripe's eyes widened. She began to wonder if what she had done had been wrong after all. No, this is just a storm--they bring rain and lightning, but they refresh the land. The metaphor was contrived at best, but it comforted her well enough. She sat still and remained silent.

- - Stoneheart

Stoneheart gagged and hunched over, hurling the contents of his stomach once again. He was shaking. "Water," he croaked.

((CAN FOX CHASE HIM I WANT TO GIVE HIM A PIECEIF MY MIND))

Duskstorm leapt away immediately and shot out of the room to collect the item in more moss.
He came rushing back and nudged Stoneheart, before squeezing the moss between his jaws so the water poured into the Kings mouth.
He dropped the moss ball once it was empty and bent, quickly looking into the King's eyes to gauge his consciousness. 'He's doing better.' He announced. He moved around to grab Stoneheart by his ruff, pulling him away from the vomit to save him some dignity.

- - Thunderheart

Thunderheart yowled and whirled around to swipe at the apprentice, but she was already gone. He turned back to face her, and it began to dawn on him that his rank meant nothing--he was powerless in the face of everyone's anger. He flattened his ears and raised his hackles, but this time it was more out of fear than rage.

"If the traitor comes forward, then nothing more has to happen!" he said. "Do you know what would happen if this continues? When a dynasty falls, there isn't peace! There's moons, even seasons of chaos while everyone struggles to figure out who the new leader is, and the new leader tries to figure out how to rule! If you all could have just waited Stoneheart's rule out! He's old! Now he might be dead, and Dewfern is terrified and too young to take his place by herself! Whoever did this, did this out of greed and nothing else! And I will punish them for it!"

- - Stoneheart

Stoneheart lay still on the ground, but still breathing faintly. He muttered weakly under his breath. "Dewfern . . ." he rasped, thinking she was the one who had been healing him. "I'm sorry."

- - Dewfern

"Are you sure?" Dewfern looked down at her formerly strong father. He had been getting better. She hated it, but him showing his stubbornness was good in a way. It showed that the old Stoneheart was still in there. She tried to clean up a little of the vomit with some dry moss, recoiling at the disgusting feeling.

When she heard him apologize she looked down at her paws. "It's okay," she mewed quietly while she held the moss in her paws.

(Thunderheart basically threatened everyone in the castle to either come forward, or he would open up the Rat's Nest.)
