Recently, a number of angels have fallen from the sky, their halos gone. To the human eye, their wings cannot be seen. These angels need to return to the heavens, but after time on earth, will they want to leave the place they no so little about? This earth is so unlike the tales of the one they had abandoned long ago, due to its overwhelming sin, darkness and stories of hyperbole horror. Tales of angels leaving the heavens and turning into fallen angels or demons haunts them, will they really give up their heavenly forms for earth? Are the rumors even true? -- White wings spread out against a male figure's back, slightly stacked and drooping his black hair was messy and he was in robes he had no memory of changing into. He dawned a pale blue button-down with the sleeves scrunched up and the buttons all undone. He wore black skinny-jeans and his dark blue eyes took in the area around him. He had never seen this place before. A drop of water dropped down in front of him from his hair and he realized he was pretty much soaked. Caden pushed himself to his feet and began walking, but something held him from going more than a step. His next realization was that he was chained by his upper-arms to a white, brick wall behind him. Strange. He knew then that he wasn't in the heavens anymore.

"Caden?" A female voice came, soft and quite, from the darkness against the opposite wall. Belle struggled to her feet, bottle green eyes wide with fright and her white wings limp from her back. Her signature mark, a few red feathers scattered along the base down, was clear in the slowly brightening light, her fiery red hair burning with its usually brilliance despite the mess she was in. She seemed just as awkward in the clothes she apeared in - a pair of blue-gray skinny jeans and a purple tanktop against her tanned skin, her form as lithe, lean, and strong as ever from hours of training on the makeshift battlefield. Fright wasnt often on this warriors face, and it was unnerving to see it in her vivid eyes and soft lips. "Caden, why-" her question broke off as she also took a step towards her friend, chains securing an ankle to the wall behind her. She growled in frustration and crouched down carefully, running her hand along the chain. It glowed a brilliant red for a split second, and belle jerked her hand away from it with a hiss. Her fiery hair was pulled into a braid over her shoulder, almost to the middle of her back - it was strange seeing it out of its crown of braids, to keep it from her face. Raising back onto shaky feet, sheathed in thick leather combat boot as, Belle spared Caden a glance of her usual steely expressoin. "Do you remember how we got here?"

Caden was surprised to hear the female voice relatively beside her. He looked over at her, a sickening feeling churning his stomach. "Belle?..." He shook his head and tugged at the metal, his hand burning slightly at the touch. "Can you get yours off?" He asked, looking over to see her try the same to hers. "No luck?" He ran a hand through his messy, wet hair. "We aren't in the heavens right now. I don't know how we got here. We were there and now I'm waking up here. But where is here?" He asked, not expecting an answer. How were they going to get these chains off? (Sorry it's a bit shorter than I wanted, I'm in the car)

(No worries!!)
Belle turned back to her chains, placing her hand back into the metal. Her wings rustled indignantly and a hiss of agony escaped between her lips, the red-hit metal turning white before suddenly exploding in a flash of luminescent sparks. Belle winced as she looked at her hand - the heat and burned away the skin of her palm, leaving blood to flow freely. "Angel blood... It needs angel blood," She said before walking briskly over to Caden, letting a few drops of the Seraph blood fall onto his chain. The burn was healing quickly - he was lucky to get any of the blood at all. The chain links burst into sparks, and Belle grabbed Caden's arm. "We need to go. Fly invisibly," with those words, orders from a soldier, she spread her red-flecked wings and vanished, only the faint glow of her wings visible as a gust of wind signaled her sudden leap into flight.

Caden was surprised when Belle clasped her hand over the metal and it detached itself from her. It made sense when she muttered the key to getting them off. Chains that held angels would have an easy key, there wasn't much that could hold them. "Thanks Belle." He said as she pulled him away. He wasn't a soldier like Belle, he stayed in his chambers mostly and read or have guidance to those who asked for it. He preferred not to interact with to many others as it exhausted him, but he didn't mind going out with a small group once in a while. He spread out his wings, feeling the wetness of them. In a heartbeat he vanished, the soft, almost unnoticeable glow of his wings would look like a trick of the light to anyone not looking for them. "This place doesn't feel heavenly, as though no angel of creature of gods have been here in many centuries." He said, his voice carries on the wind. He still wanted to know where he was, he didn't like not knowing.

Whoa, sorry about that! I accidentally closed the tab. Thanks for pulling me back!)
Belle flew next to Caden, silent for a while. "What you feel is death. This is a mortal world - decay of the murdered and anger of restless spirits is frequent, and dangerous to us. We need to keep ourselves surrounded with mortal beings, to hide. Follow," She commanded, suddenly folding in her wings and diving at break-neck speed. Unfolding her wings about one-fourth of the way to steer, she angled herself skillfully into a dark allyway. She snapped open her wings, gliding to a graceful land in a defending position. However, it slowly melted away as she realized no one was there - people were, however, flooding the streets outside the shadowed allyway. Appearing into human view, her wings invisible to them, she waited for Caden to follow as she had told him. She was used to giving orders, as commander of the seraph army.

Np) "Death..." He murmured. "I have been at the aftermath of a battle, but never has it felt like this." Caden was mainly speaking to himself as he flew beside Belle. The first thing they would need to know would be where they were. Caden knew Abella was right in the sense that they should try blend in, not all beings were friendly to angels. He pulled his wings in slightly to make sharper turns and add a bit of speed, but he didn't tuck them in as much as Belle did. He landed gently in the alley beside her, careful not to let his wings clip the buldings. He pulled his wings in, folding them against his back. He realized that his clothes and hair were barely damp, let alone wet; the wind must have dried them for the most part. "Perhaps we should inquire the inhabitants for a study or library of sorts?" He suggested. Those would be the best places, at least in his opinion, to gather information.

Despite hearing Caden talk, Belle's eyes were fixed on the people with a stony expression, her jaw set. The people absolutely reeked of sin and lies, ten times worse than the old earth they had left. Women and men alike openly set prices per night, flirting and taking cash that would pay for a one night stand. Drugs were slipped more often than not- a homeless child was begging for food, no older than twelve. Anger flashed through Belle, hotter than war and stronger than battle rage. This world wasnt simple burying dead bodies - it was becoming one. Seeing how many of the women were dressed, Belle groaned out loud. "Yes," She agreed miserably, turning to face Caden, "but that will acquire some adjusting." A glint of light caught Belles attention - a sharp of broken glass. With a sign of resignation, the she-angel picked it up and easily sliced through what she wore. Soon enough, she had a pair of shorts on barely long enough to cover what needed to be, and the shirt was cut to become a cropped top, her toned stomach barred. Disgusted with herself, Belle tossed the shard over her shoulder and tossed her hair upside down, rustling it violently from its braid. A moment later, up she came, her hair a teased fashion many woman seemed to like. A heart beat of silence. "I hate myself," He grumbled, then turned on her heel and waltzed directly into the sunlight, becoming the male angel to follow.

It wasn't quite a stench, but more of a feeling. It chilled Caden down to his bones, made him want to vomit and go the farthest from this civilization he could get. Caden was not a fan of all this sin it was nearly suffocating. "This is so bad, it could pass for earth." He managed to simplify the thoughts that were a chaos fueled by the feeling. Then, a disgusted feeling came over him at Belle's newest actions. "But that's so... Scandalous! You're an angel! Have some dignity!" He exclaimed. Sure, it was how most females here dressed, but he had no intent of staying any longer than need be. He didn't know if he could stand it. "I will roll up the sleeves of my tunic, but I will not cut my jeans." Caden said, pushing his sleeves up to his elbows before realizing he had yet to button up his shirt. He quickly laced the buttons into their hold, leaving the top few undone and he tried to fix his hair a bit. When he was finished, he looked out at the bustling street and reluctantly followed Belle out. His wings were nestle gently over the back of his shirt, but no one seemed to notice them. That's when he realized something that also wasn't noticeable. - Because it wasn't there. He knew something had felt wrong, but with all the sin and confusion, he hadn't been able to pin-point it until now. "Belle... Our halos."

"I know," Belle said calmly, never looking away from where her eyes were locked - dead straight ahead. "Our halo's have been gone the moment we awoke. It is bittersweet - without them, we have less power. However, if we still had them, we'd have been hunted and slaughtered for our presence." She said nothing for a short moment, pondering how to explain something every female soldier knew. SHe reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him into a dark ally once more. She jerked her wrist upwards with a feral glint in her eyes, a soldiers challenge. The marking on her wrist was clear - an oath to the seraph god, to be a soldier in his name. "Do you know what this is? This mark means that I will lower myself to any standards to complete a mission, or beat a challenge. I know I appear to be none more than one of prostitutes on those street, and I know it's immoral. But I'd rather appear to be this than be hunted - nothing, not even a demon, would ever think a seraph would put themselves this low. Especially not a commander, and a female one nonetheless. You may not be tied to the king the way I am, but your loyalties will remain straight. Even if it means making a tough choice. Got it?" Her words challenged him, her eyes narrowing dangerously.

Caden flinched slightly. "Why didn't you-!" He began, but Belle started talking again. He swallowed the anger that was starting to rise and took in a deep breath a moment before his wrist was yanked with force and Belle brought him to yet another dark alley. "It makes sense that there would be a number of demons here, in a place so full of sin, that www oils be targeted for being Angels. I have read about the oath of a soldier and you have proven what the books have said. I have always remained loyal to the king, always have. I have my own level of authority and I don't take kindly to your tone." For the first time since arriving there his voice went cold and hard. How dare she question his loyalty?!

"Then prove it, seraph. You have no training in matters like this. Mortals - you can't read about them from books and scrolls. You have to watch - no, you have to join them. Look," He turned her sharp glare onto the people of the street. "Books will describe the street. Humans most vile as a whole. Mortality a curse. But they don't go into depth. Look," She motioned to the starving child, who was weeping. "That child - young and innocent, starving in the cold. What do we do to the young in our world? We care for them. That man, there - slipped a powdered drug called crank into his clients bag. A yellow powder that they inhale - melts the brain into a pool of deadly pleasure and kills their body. People pay with mind, money, body for drugs like that. Your scrolls tell of human corruption, not of what does the corruption." Her voice took a dark lather, harsh. She cut him a sharp glance. "Without my halo, I have a chance to fall into mortality. However, to escape a prison, you must know it. Find a safe place - an abandoned house, if needed be. I'm going to make some very, very immoral choices."

"You think I don't know that there's more than what books tell you?! You think I wasn't angry when I saw that?! Belle, I'm a seraph just as much as you are. You know, commander, I think there's something you can learn from a book without going out into the world. You're to quick to judge." Caden finished, walking past her and onto the street. He turned and walked away, not bothering to avoid the mass of people. This is why he liked staying in his reside and avoiding people. He wasn't well with them and they weren't well with him. (Sorry, short)

It had been months since her wings had faded to black. It had been a slow process. The top of her wings were first and the tips last, but eventually every last brilliant white feather had been replaced by an oil black one. Cali had fallen years ago, lost her halo years ago, but only recently had her wings changed. She found it odd as some of the others had changed well before her (by well before she meant within a week of their falling); apparently she was a late bloomer. The angel turned in front of the store window, entranced by the relatively new look. The streets were empty so she took an opportunity to stretch her wings in full. Her golden hair stood out against the black and her sharp, emerald green eyes glinted dangerously in the glass. She smirked slightly before lowering her sunglasses over her eyes and tucking her massive and invisible wings behind her back. Quickly, she walked away from the store, her heels clicking against the ground.
Rumor had it that there were some new kids on the block. It was only fitting for her to go say hello.

Caden turned the corner and, much to his surprise, there weren't many people down this street. Finally; some silence. His eyes caught the form of a girl with golden hair, sunglasses and heels, a shiver running down his spine. She felt different than humans, something dangerous yet familiar. A demon? It was possible. Caden set his eyes back in front of him and didn't slow or quicken his pace, walking down as though her hadn't spotted her. His wings burned as he pressed them hard against his back. He could only hope he could get past her before she noticed he gave off a holy feeling rather than sinful like the people here. The last thing he needed was some demon making his day worse. He wanted to find a library and just study in peace.

Cali stopped when Caden passed her. His smell - holy and pungent - washed over her, making her shiver in fear and excitement, "Found you." She turned sharply to follow the recently fallen angel. It wouldn't take long for the sin of the human world to take hold of him; she was determined to be the one to sully him. Cali breathed in his intoxicating scent again, a grin stretching her lips. Her heels clicked against the ground rapidly as she tried to catch him and when she finally came without reach, she snaked her lithe fingers around his wrist. Cali turned him and her eyes widened, "Caden?!"
Raising her sunglasses, she smirked, "Got kicked out of heaven huh? I didn't peg you as the rebellious type."

Sera sat down on the bench outside the coffee shop, stretching her blue grey wings out on the bench. She had it all to herself; people never sat with old crazy lady, and she was perfectly content to keep it that way. She smiled into the rim of her mug as she raised it to her lips, listening to the sounds around her as they slowly faded into the distance. A pair of high heels went past, clicking loudly on the pavement. A young man, it sounded like, whistling a particularly catchy tune. The angel sighed quietly, running her fingers through her greying hair. At least they never bothered her; what more could could a blind old woman ask than that?
A dark linen cloth was tied tight over her eyes, a little tattered and a little weathered, but not any less useful than before. There was no doubt that Sera looked odd; blind, but still out wandering the streets without a guide dog, without a cane. She wasn't a fan of that sort of thing; not when all it did was get in her way. She didn't need to fancy disguises or dramatic wardrobe changes. Why, if people thought her crazy enough, they steered clear and didn't ask questions. The less questions the better; she didn't mind that stares. The fallen angel did not care what people thought. Not anymore. Besides, it wasn't like taking the blindfold off would bring her any less attention.
