I think that for such an important character, Sandstorm had an underwhelming death. She could have lasted through TAS, which I have not yet read so no spoilers please.

I think she died in a good way, doing the best of her to find SkyClan, and no an awful offscreen greencough death. She's finally with Firestar.

I misspoke. She died at a good time, but I think for such an important character, she could have died in a better way. I would have been happy if she died instead of or even with Spottedleaf or Firestar.

The thing about her death is that she died the way she wanted to go... In her words, she wanted to die doing something important, not sitting around in the elder's den... And that's exactly how she died...
Not to mention she lasted through four series, and her mate was dead... I think her role was over, plot wise, so there's not much reason not to kill her off considering she didn't have much more to contribute to the plot...

What I'm saying, though, is that I think her death, no matter how peaceful it was, was too slow. Also, did she die on the way too or from SkyClan? Because if she died on the way to SkyClan, she was just on a road trip. She had only done something important when they found SkyClan.

But she led the others to Skyclan, for the most part... If she hadn't gotten them started, they would've been completely lost... And even if she had gotten all the way there, with her age, it's unlikely she would've survived staying in the area, or even the way back...

Didn't Bramblestar know the way to SkyClan? And I know Sandstorm was never going to live through The Apprentice's Quest; I just thought that her death was underwhelming. She was a better character than Firestar, and he died dispelling evil from the Clans. Sandstorm died from an infected wound.

He was also bffs with Ashfur, which is so weird when you go back and reread FQ lmao

It makes you think.

I don't have any problems with her death. Sandstorm wanted to die doing something useful and that's exactly what happened before her wound became infected.

I read FQ around 2 years ago. Back when the only Super Edition I hadn't read was SkyClan's Destiny. Actually, that might still be true. I'm not sure. But I definitely forgot about Brambleclaw being friends with Ashfur. I also never finished Eclipse. It was taking too long for the fake Three to become warriors, so I just read OOTS instead.

TAQ clearly shows Sandstorm dying leading the others to SkyClan (I'm guessing you for forgot about this part?) and was the only one who actually knew the way there. Bramblestar and Graystripe knew about it, but Sandstorm was the only one who knew how to get there. That's pretty important if you ask me, even if she didn't complete it.

But in FQ they're seen as being pretty good friends. Then by TNP, their friendship ends quickly over their feelings for Squirrelflight. It's kind of a shame really, since I thought they made a good pair as friends.

That's weird. I just don't remember them being friends. And I never liked Brambleclaw anyway. It's like, 'We get it. You look like a mass murderer, THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE ONE!' Read this in the Nostalgia Critic's voice.

I'm just upset she died from a fox bite that got infected, and then got even more infected after she fell in cow dung! I know Alderpaw was barely a medicine cat apprentice, but he knew it was infected, but does NOTHING FOR IT! I know he was intimidated by this respected elder saying she didn't need anything, especially since Alderpaw didn't have a lot of confidence, BUT NO CAT WANTED TO COME FORWARD AND SAY "COME ON SANDSTORM YOU KNOW THIS IS BAD". If Sandstorm had be alive, she would have seen the that Darktail wasn't SkyClan. But I guess, do it for the plot...

To add to this topic...lol
I thought her death sucked too tbh. I felt like her death was cheap and poorly executed. She was a great character, who had been around since the beginning. She deserved a better death than what she got.
And yes, I get she wanted to die doing something. But that doesn't hide the fact that the way she died was cheaply done. Yeah, she went to help find SkyClan. But she could have died a much better death than some infected wound and then dying under a bush because plot.
She could have died a much better death than what she was given. She died in a cheap way just like her mate. And it really bothers me so much.

Sandstorms death was okayish. It kinda pissed me because Sandstorm is one of the only devolped charecters that was alive.
Regards . I think the Erins wanted her to be happy again. Sandstorm acted like everything was alright but she loves Firestar too much. She ached for him and the only way to be with him was to die.
She went on this journey even knowing she was set to die because she was ready to go away. I mean think about Sandstorm's past. Her father died pretty early in her life and her mother took a new mate barely moons after. Then she died. Then her half brother tried dating her daughter and he died. All of her kin besides Squirrel and Leaf were gone. She didint wanna live on.
