Okay so yeah I've decided I'm gonna post my Undertale fan-trash here too. Suggestions are welcome and if you have pet peeves about the fandom, please PM me. My fanfic is going to take a few jabs at how horrid the fandom is. And If you have an OC, drop them in my inbox too if you want and maybe I'll use them later on.
PROLOGUE
In the overwhelming darkness of the Void, a cat floats alone clutching something to her chest fur. The tip of her tail twitches in fear. “I…I shouldn’t be doing this...I fear that they may try to stop me.” The cat had every reason to be afraid, for what she was holding so closely were two parts of two souls. One human. One monster. She had gathered these fragments from different points in different timelines from two individuals who have had some influence over the infinite number of timelines in the seemingly infinite universes. Her intention, to merge these soul fragments together to create a living being from souls that should have vanished in their respective times. This would be her greatest sin. The cat took a few shaky breaths before moving the soul fragments closer and closer together. The air felt so tense that it seemed as though the fabric of existence was coming apart at the seams, but as quickly as it came it vanished. A soft, pulsating glow emanated from the tiny soul held together by inky black goo as is floated in the cat’s paws. The cat let out a sigh of relief, but this relief was short-lived as a presence approached. This made the fur along the cat’s spine stand on end as she turned to face what was in the darkness.
"Do you know what you have done?" came a voice.
“W.D. Gaster, I’m not surprised you would show up at a time like this.” The cat says, holding the soul close to her, “This business does not concern you.”
"You do realize what this soul will become, what will happen if it is allowed to mature."
“You will not touch this child, I will use every ounce of power I have to protect it.” The cat snarled, "The truth will come out one way or another!"
"Then I have no choice." and suddenly large reptilian skulls shot out of the darkness and began to fire beams from their mouths at the cat. The cat unsheathed her claws and clawed a hole right through the fabric of the void and tossed the soul in just before she was hit with the beams. Injured and dying, the cat looked up to the closing hole of the void and saw the soul floating there, with a newly formed womb surrounding it. The cat smiled and let a few tears fall before she seemed to disappear like a cloud of smoke.
X years later
It was a quiet evening in Snowdin. Many monsters were already in their homes except for one. In the LIBRARBY, sitting at one of the tables was a large antelope-like monster reading through a book. He lets out a sigh when he reaches a page with a crude illustration of a small skeleton in a yellow, blue and green striped shirt with what appeared to be black tears dripping from their eye sockets. The monster shook his head in disappointment, "It doesn't surprise me they would try to warp history to their favor."
"E-Excuse me." came the soft voice of a child. The monster turns his head to see a small skeleton standing there.
He gives her somewhat scolding look,"Gigi? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home with your family?"
The female skeleton shrinks away a little bit,"S-Sorry your majesty."
"It's quite alright small one.' the monster motions for her to take a seat next to him. Which she does,"W-What did you mean when you said 'they' were warping history?"
"Oh, you heard that huh?" the male monster sighs, "Well, I was just reading through this book about the beginnings of our universe. You know this book is very special, it was left behind by Classic Sans. Do you know who he was?"
The child nods,"Yeah. He's the skeleton that stopped the evil human and their spawn right?"
"Well, that's what some of our history books tell us, but that's not the whole truth."
"What?! Really?!"
"Yes, now tell me something: Do you think that living things are born evil, or does society burden them with wickedness?"
"U-Um...they're born evil?"
The monster lets out a chuckle, "I think you're wrong young one."
"Why do you say that? The human's spawn was always evil, right?"
The older monster shook his head,"No. You see they were my childhood friend, and your father's for that matter. And if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be free to live as we do, nor would I be here sitting beside you today. I could tell you the story, but it would bore you to death."
"Tell me the story! P-Please."
"Very well then. Well I suppose I should start from the beginning..."
CHAPTER 1
In the quiet expanse of space outside the Void, a small skeleton floated around. The skeleton in question was bored out of their skull most of the time. They lived a peaceful existence, but they often looked into the darkness of the Void and wanted to get in there somehow. To be a part of those worlds, but the voices that inhabited the area outside kept telling the young skeleton how disgusting they were and how they were not worthy to enter.
The voices in this expanse of space came in all accents, tongues, and pitches. Some sought to comfort the young skeleton to ease their loneliness, others told them that they were an abomination to be tossed away with the trash.
Since their birth, the skeleton became aware of what lies within the Void: An expansive multiverse that has captured the hearts of many in it's splendor. The skeleton soon knew those who dwelled within the Void better than they would probably ever know them, or so they thought. There wasn't much else to do other than watch the plethora of alternate universes and alternate timelines play out, aside from the ones where everyone dies because they didn't like the idea of death. It scared them.
They became aware of the significance of one character in particular: The skeleton named Sans. No matter what the universe was, it was always interesting to watch what the sanses were up to, and boy they were up to a lot of things. Voices whispered to the young skeleton, telling them about how great Sans was, particularly the Sans from the Original universe. So naturally, the young skeleton grew a fondness of this "Classic" Sans and looked up to him as more of a role model in terms of handling the human when they went on a mass killing spree. Wanting to one day be strong enough to fight back humans, the young skeleton spent hours on end practicing their magic, much to the disgust of many of the voices murmuring around them.
Even amongst the negativity, there were a few recurring voices that played the guardian role for this skeleton. The voices helped them develop an identity for themselves, even giving them a name: Chiller Sans. Chiller, for their font, and Sans after the young skeleton's role model. But it was eventually scrapped in favor of the shortened version, Chans. It seemed that this young skeleton would always be locked away in this realm, hidden from the love and affection of fellow monsters, with only the disembodied voices. But this skeleton's story was about to be rewritten forever.
One day Chans was practicing some bone attacks when seemingly out of nowhere, a bubble floated past. Chans had seen similar bubbles seep out from the area beyond, but for the most part they were alternate timelines for a currently known alternate universe. However this one didn't really look like the bubble from a timeline. For one thing it was much smaller than a timeline bubble, and it had more of a dark purple hue to it while most timelines were transparent to a certain degree. Chans watches the bubble as it floats towards the edge of the Void. Being a curious child, the skeleton floats over to the bubble to try and get a closer look at it before it would disappear into the empty blackness of the Void. When they got there, they were astounded with what they saw.
This was not another timeline, this was another alternate universe! One that had never been touched by any alternate timelines where everyone lives or everyone dies! Chans cradles the tiny universe between their hands, "W-Wow..." the skeleton mumurs, "I-It's so small...I-I'm afraid I'm going to break it..." The first thing Chans does when it looks through the universe is to see where the recurring characters were, specifically the ones from the Original timeline. They saw Undyne, Mettaton, Napstablook, Asgore, and a bunch more...but there were two very important characters missing:
Where were Sans and Papyrus?
Chans scoured every location in the universe with the view that they had. The house the brothers lived in was there, but the brothers were no where to be seen. "Why aren't they there?" Chans thought. They puzzled and puzzled until their skull was sore, but they could not come up with a reason for the two skeletons to not be present in this universe. However, the young skeleton had remained unaware of how close they had drifted to the Void at least until it was too late. Like an amoeba disfiguring itself to engulf food, the inky blackness reached out and consumed the small skeleton and the universe they held. Chans screamed, but of course no one came to their aid. Everything starter to grow dark, darker, and yet darker still until small orbs of light began to appear very faintly, then growing in brightness as they came into view.
Chans could hardly believe their eyes. There they were, in the expanse of the Void, looking at every alternate universe all at once. It was truly a sight to behold. Within what seemed like an impenetrable darkness, there was light. Chans was able to pick out the dull red universe of Underfell, the golden glow of Fallentale, and the glitchy mess that was Errortale.
And it wasn't long before the universe in Chans's hands began to glow a dark royal purple. Chans looked down at it in awe as the characters that had only appeared as static images before come to life. But it also wasn't very long before Chans started to feel funny. And not the "ha ha" kind of funny, the weird kind of funny. The skeleton felt like a hand had punched itself through their ribcage and grabbed their very soul, and it was pulling them in closer to the universe they were holding. Frightened, Chans let go of the universe and squirmed to try and get away, but the pull was too strong for them to break free. All Chans could do was close watch as the view of the Void quickly melted into what appeared to be the inside of a cavern.
The small skeleton fell face-first into the snow with a dull thump.
CHAPTER 2
Oh! You’ve fallen down haven’t you…Are you okay? Huh…so that’s your name… My name is…
Chans wakes up to find themself being shaken vigorously. Chans couldn’t quite make out the figure shaking them, it only looked like a black blob against a whiteish-gray background. The blob spoke in the voice of a male child, “Hey! You okay? Wake up!”
Chans groans, rubbing their eye sockets. When they uncovered their eyes the black blob began to come into focus, revealing the relieved fuzzy face of a juvenile boss monster, “Thank goodness you’re awake! I’ve been trying to wake you up for like forever!”
The skeleton couldn’t process the words being spoken to them as they try to sit up, hissing at a sharp pain in their skull. The monster child gasped when he saw the small crack on Chans’s skull, “Oh no your head is broken!”
“W-What?”
“Hang on I’ll fix it!” the monster says and places his hand over the crack and a pale green glow appeared, “You had quite a fall, didn’t you?”
“H-How long was I out?”
“You were unconscious for a couple hours. I was beginning to think that you were dead, but thankfully I was wrong! Because you didn’t turn to dust!” the boss monster pulls his hand away from the skeleton’s skull when the green glow fades, “There we go! All healed up.”
Chans reaches up and rubs their skull where the crack had been, it was just as smooth as it had been before the fall, “Um thanks…uhh what’s your name?”
“Oh! How embarrassing, how could I forget to introduce myself? My name’s Lee! What’s your name?”
“Chans.”
“Chans? That’s a nice name!” Lee chuckles, “You know that makes a lot of sense! Because you didn’t end up dying, you get a second Chans.” The skeleton wasn’t sure how to respond to the terrible pun aside from tilting their head in confusion.
“What? Never heard a pun before?”
“No I have, but uhh…that was pretty bad..”
“Oh… Well that means I can only do better!” Lee exclaims with a grin, “So tell me Chans, I’ve never seen you around before, so where are you from? Did you come out of the Ruins?”
“N-No I uhh…I actually came from a pretty empty place…”
“Meaning?”
Chans then explained to Lee how everything around them was part of a universe, and that outside the universe was a whole expansion of universes that were all very similar but also had qualities that set them apart from each other. Lee’s eyes widen in wonder, “Wow! That’s so cool! Hey I think I learned about that in school actually. Like how there’s this council of skeletons that preside over and protect all the universes and stuff. I know about all the super important ones like the one from the Original timeline. I only know about it because Classic Sans showed up in class today as a guest speaker. Said he wanted to ‘prepare all the kiddos for the future’ or something cheesy like that.”
“Wow, that’s awesome! So you got to meet him?”
“Yeah he was kinda boring though, I fell asleep halfway through the lecture.” Lee tilts his head, “Hey now that I think about it, you look kind of like that guy.”
The skeleton’s eyes light up, “R-Really? I look like THE Classic Sans?!”
“Yeah. He’s been hanging around Grillby’s. He says he’s looking for someone to take on as an apprentice or something to be the guardian of our universe or something.” Lee looks like he has a realization, “Hey! You should totally talk to him! Maybe he’ll train you because you’re a skeleton too!”
“Y-You think so?”
“Yeah! I’ll go see if I can find him!” Lee smiles and stands up, “I’ll be right back! Wait here!” and with that the little boss monster ran off into the woods to find the older skeleton.
Chans grins and stands up and looks to the sky, “Did I hear Lee correctly? Would Classic consider taking me on as an apprentice? I hope he likes me.” Chans then chuckles sheepishly, “As if. I’m not even like the other Sanses. I don’t even have the right font.”
A chilly gust of air blows through ,whispering words of encouragement to the young skeleton. You never know until you try.
Chans’s expression then changes to one of determination, “You know what? I WILL try!”
Chans picks up a stick and starts drawing a picture of themself with Classic using Gaster Blasters and Lee shooting some fireballs while they waited for the boss monster child to return.
“When I meet Classic, I’ll prove that I can be strong! He’ll look at me and say ‘hey kiddo, you’re alright. i think you can handle this. i’m rootin’ for ya.’ When I get to meet the Council of Sanses I’ll be welcomed as an equal! I won’t be cast aside by all of you!” the skeleton declares, pointing to the sky. They then freeze, “I can see it now. The vision’s hazy, but one day there will be a celebration throughout the multiverse about me! I’ll be the best guardian that I can be!”
After a while Lee comes back, out of breath, “Hey! Chans! I found him!”
Chans felt a chill go down their spine.
CHAPTER 3
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The dialogue between Chans, Classic, and Lee was rped with meiko-vocaloid-red.deviantart.com/ so many thanks to her for that! I'd also like to thank miiv12.deviantart.com/ for being okay with her character B being mentioned. I don't usually like to include characters that belong to other people if I don't already know the person beforehand. I also know the first three chapters probably feel really really rushed. Things are going to slow way down now. Probably a couple fluff chapters after this, just to add some more development to Lee and Chans. And then I'll get back to plot territory.
Before Chans gets a chance to respond, Lee grabs the skeleton's arm and starts dragging them off, "Come on! Let's go! Before he leaves!"
After a short while, the two youngsters arrive in Snowdin. Chans stops when they get outside of Grillby's, "Lee, I can't do this."
"What? Of course you can!" the antelope monster said, "All you have to do is get through the door." And with that, Lee pushes Chans through the door, “He’s not going to hurt ya, because as far as I know you haven't killed anyone."
"But I-"
"No butts! No seriously, no butts. get it? you're a skeleton, so you don't have a butt"
"..."
A rumbling chuckle sounded from the other side of the bar. "good one kiddo." The voice belonged to another skeleton that was wearing a blue hoodie with a grey hood, black shorts, and pink slippers. He was looking over at Lee. "i'll admit, that one wasn't half baaad."
Lee giggles a little before shoving Chans in the older skeleton's direction, “Here’s my buddy I was telling you about."
Chans stumbles a little, but quickly regains their balance, "U-Uh Hi."
The older skeleton sat up and looked at them, then motioned towards the empty stool next to him. "Why don't you come over here and have a seat so we can have a proper chat?" He said.
Chans glances back at Lee who gives them a thumbs up, “I’ll be waiting outside." he says before leaving.
Chans hesitantly clambers up onto the stool.
"so, you're this Chans kid Lee told me about." Classic looked at the younger skeleton for a few moments, his eyes narrowing in thought. "there's no doubt that you're a Sans alright. and your stats are higher than that of many other Sanses." He said, looking them over, though his eyes narrowed a tiny bit when he saw their LV. The older skeleton shifted a little to get more comfortable. "alright kiddo, here's the deal. i'm gonna have someone come here to train you. i can't really do it myself at the moment since i kinda promised someone else that i'd train them. but the guy that's gonna train you was trained by me, and he's the sixth strongest sans. he's also the one in charge of keeping track of all the Sanses and their ranks. his name is Arranger, though a lot of us call him B. he'll decide what your rank is based on your strength. the rank you start off with won't be the one you'll be stuck with though. as you get older and stronger, you'll move up the list. you with me so far?"
Chans nods, it was a lot to take in but they could kind of make sense of it.
"good. i gotta get going soon. Paps gets cranky if i don't read his bedtime story to him. anyway, i'll let B know so he can come over here." He told them and got down. "also, if there's any unique abilities that you have, be sure to show him so that way he can rank you properly."
"Yes sir."
"see ya kiddo." Classic said and left the building, pausing when he saw Lee. "keep an eye on your friend for me, alright?"
Lee tilts his head, “Why? Are they crazy or something’?"
He shook his head. "nah. nothing like that. their soul is a little unstable and they have some LV, so it's likely that they'll be more prone to violence than others. but i can tell that they're a good kid. they just need some actual love, whether it be platonic or not." The skeleton replied.
"Oh okay! Wait. How can they have LV if they haven't killed anyone?"
"well, sometimes people gain LV by accident, unintentional, or because they believe it would make them stronger. it depends on the person themselves. as for Chans, I'm not really sure. luckily his LV isn't very high, so he most likely killed some folks by accident or in self-defense." Classic told him.
"I don't think so...they just fell out of the sky."
The older skeleton scratched the back of his skull. "huh...then i don't really know how he could have LV if he hasn't killed anyone. anyway, see ya Lee." Classic said, then opened a portal back to Undertale and stepped through as it closed behind him.
Lee hurries inside and sits at the bar beside Chans, “So, how'd it go?"
"It was okay I guess. Very quick and to the point."
"Well that's good!"
"But..."
"But what?"
"I don't know...I just felt he was a little you know...uneasy..."
"Ah you're probably just overthinking it."
"I guess you're right." Chans says with a sigh, "Anyway, so apparently, there's another sans that's going to come here and train me. He's going to rank me against the other known sanses to see how strong I am."
"Cool! I bet you'll be one of the strongest!"
"I don't know about that Lee."
"Well you never know! Anyway, let's get out of here. I got to show you around!" Lee says, getting up and running out the door. Chans scrambles after them, "Hey! Wait up!"

Wait up!"
