The fox let out a yelp of pain as the two cats hooked themselves onto its pelt, backing away in attempts to get them off of it. The fox fell to one side, crushing Bearpaw, making the tom release the russet creature. With a violent shake it was able to get Palestream off of its pelt as well. Bearpaw rolled onto his back, scratching at the foxes under belly, but to no avail, the creatures fur too thick for even Bearpaws claws to penetrate. The fox turned around, as if all that was was a tickle, and bit down on Bearpaw once again, shaking the brown tom violently.

Palestream snarled viciously when it . Wemt for Bearpaw once more. She didn't hesitate before launching herself at the russet colored creature, landing on its back, sinking her claws into its shoulders and biting the back of his neck and raking her hind claws on its flanks.[/font

The she-cat gave a muffled yowl as she was crushed to the ground. Palestream lay dazed for a moment before slowly rising to her paws and going after the fox. "Get your filthy paws off my apprentice!" She yowled, raking her claws down the foxes flank before leaping back away to safety and hurling herself at it once more. This time giving a hard nip to its foreleg. Desperately trying to save Bearpaw.
(Sorry this is late, I've been busy with Christmas things the past few days.)

Palestream gave a threatening hiss, throwing a few well aimed blow to the fox's long snout. The she-cat glanced over, looking for Bearpaw, gasping when he saw his unmoving body. No... DiamondClan no... She thought, eyes widening in terror and a rage. Without hesitation she turned on the fox, rearing up on her hindlegs and lashing out nonstop at its face. The she-cat looked intimidating with her angry expression and fluffed out fur. If Bearpaw was dead... this fox would never see the end of her.

Palestream chased after it for a second, letting out a fearsome yowl before skidding to a halt and making sure it was gone. With a grunt Palestream turned tail and limped back to Bearpaw, praying that the young tom was okay. When she returned to the clearing she grabbed her apprentice's scruff and hauled him out of the bushes. Gently laying him on a soft patch of ground.

Bearpaw let out a soft moan as he was being moved, pain shooting through the apprentices body, it only dulling slightly as he was lain on the ground. "P-palestream?" He whispered, embarrassed he couldn't take on the fox. He was practically a warrior and he still couldn't handle fighting. He was going to be a terrible warrior, he could tell, if he ever was going to make it that far, that is. He grimaced, the pain coming back, the little tom still not able to move much.

{Yeah, it's a busy season so I can't guarantee how often I'll be on over the next few days. I hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday season }
Blossomstep chuckled lightly, embarassed by how much she revealed to the tom. She was relieved when Oakfoot turned his attention towards Sagepaw. The she-cat remained quiet, following along with the group as the terrain began to shift. Her eyes focused on her sister who had bounded quite ahead of the pair. Blossomstep's speed began to increase as she followed after the apprentice.
Sagepaw's ear flicked as she heard her mentor calling. She didn't feel the need to turn around to reply, so she simply slowed her pace, waiting for the two warriors to catch up. You would think they would be able to keep up, or at least trust that I can take care of myself, Sagepaw thought, giving herself way too much credit.

(Palestream's gonna be so depressed )
Palestream buried her nose into the young tom's fur. Emotion making her throat tighten. "Come on Bearpaw, we got to get you back to camp." She urged, taking a few steps away from the apprentice and waiting for him to get up. Though she knew very well he wasn't going to be able to stand himself. She'd failed him. Bearpaw would be fine if she hadn't decided to split up while hunting. Oh, do forgive me. "Bearpaw, let's go. Your losing more and more blood by the second." She went on, nosing her apprentice, trying to encourage him to stand. I promised to keep him safe with my life. Land of gems, if your there, please help him. Restore his strength! She couldn't risk moving him anymore. He'd probably get worse.
Oakfoot hurried after Blossomstep as he noticed her quicken her pace. Perhaps she doesn't want to converse withe me anymore. He thought, feeling a bit embarrassed at the thought that he'd said something wrong. But he simply shook it away, taking the lead as they entered the forest. After the first few steps everything seemed to be alright. The scenery was peaceful. All until the scent of fresh blood filled his nose. The tabby immediately froze, shaking his head and trying to rid the scent. What happened here? Cautiously he turned to Sagepaw and Blossomstep, signaling with his tail for them to follow him towards the scent. It could very well be one of his clanmates.

"P-palestream... I'm sorry..." he whispered, trying to get up, but the pain in his back leg made him stay still, a whimper coming out of his throat. The dark brown tom looked more like a kit than an apprentice ready to be a warrior, wincing as Palestream dug her nose into his fur. Suddenly, the pain seemed to stop, helping the apprentice to relax a little bit, but realized that he couldn't move, not really. So he stayed still, shivering slightly, everything seemed so much colder. "I-I should have listened to you.." His voice trailed off slightly. (Bwahahahaa)

"Bearpaw?" She queried, shaking her apprentice with her forepaws. "Bearpaw come one, we have to go. F-furzetail will help you." She went on, pushing her muzzle to his side and trying to help the young tom up to his paws. But his limp body only fell back down when she let him go. No. No. DiamondClan please... not my apprentice. Take me instead Her thoughts were in a frenzy of fear. Bearpaw was fine. He was just... resting. "Your... your going to be okay." She murmured silently, curling herself around the his frail body and pushing her flat-face into his fur once more. What have I done?

Palestream stayed curled around Bearpaw and grooming his pelt. Praying that he would be alright. What was she thinking? I knew there was a fox around here, but I decided to split up and hunt anyways. Now Bearpaw's fighting a new battle to stay alive. She let out a small sigh, resting her head on her apprentice's flanks. The warrior began to dove off until she heard rustling in some bushes to her left. Instantly, Palestream pushed to herself to her paws and placed a protective paw over Bearpaw's limp body. Her fur bushed out and her lips peeled back in a snarl.
Oakfoot pushed his way through the bushes and shook out his pelt, confused for a moment before he looked over at Palestream and Bearpaw. His amber eyes widened with shock at what he saw. "What happened to you?" Why didn't they call for help or run. Every cat knew to run if something, by the scents of it a fox, to run or get help all unless you had a battle ready patrol.

(Did I not post here? I'm so sorry Sweet! I could have sworn I typed up a reply for Pale and Bear. Must have gotten deleted. But sure, we can skip ahead of time a little. If you haven't checked the front page, the member who played Aurorapaw was deleted, so Furzetail doesn't have an apprentice anymore.)

(Sorry for disappearing. I had to grab a quick snack. We can if you'd like. You can make a DiamondClan cat or I could if you would like.)
Palestream didn't let her guard down, but she did remove her paw from over the young apprentice's body. Her green eyes were big as moons, fear and worry clear inside of them. "Just help me get him up. He can't walk. I-I'll tell you everything once we get back to camp." Bearpaw, please be okay. She pleaded silently as she helped pull onto Oakfoot's strong shoulders. Once she was sure her apprentice was securely on his back, she flanked one of his side. Turning to Blossomstep. "Flank his other side!" She demanded, sounding a little more snappish then what she intended on. She was just scared that this could be her last moment with her apprentice.

Runningstreams fur bristled when he saw the small patrol return, Bearpaw on a warriors shoulders.. actually she wasn't sure it was Bearpaw. She leaned forward, squinting at the scrap of fur, confirming that it was, in fact, Bearpaw. "Great Diamondclan... what happened?" She whispered to her clanmate in horror.
Furzetail, blissfully unaware of what was going on outside of his den, was cleaning out the herb storage, hidden as he climbed to the top of the stores, he had begun to keep herbs in the walls of the den, wiping out some shriveled leaves, humming to himself.

Ashenclaw was also watching the patrol come in. His ears shot back when he saw Bearpaw on the warriors backs and he walked closer to check it out. "What could've possibly happened to leave then this ragged?" He murmured to himself.
