Asmenia Creator: Shoot for the Stars Location/Geography: located to the north east of Dresiten and one of the coldest kingdoms around, Asmenia is almost completely land locked except for a small sliver on the east side. Hardy pine forests dominate the lower valleys and cover most of the land. There are a few huge waterfalls that are at the base of the mountain ranges. The mountains create a natural barrier, Major Resources/Exports: While Asmenia does have mines, gems and other minerals are not their main export. In fact, reindeer and bison ranching have played a huge part in Asmenia's economy in past. Along the cost, fish and fish products are sold to neighboring contries that don't have access to the seas. Furs have also becoming increasingly popular and the demand for fur has led to a huge trade between Asmenia and other kingdoms. Asmenia is also known for its metal work and lumber. Culture: Life tends to be simple for people living in Asmenia even for the nobles. Very few live in the big cities as many live in the rural areas where they own massive plots of land and farm reindeer. These people tend to have large families, ranging anywhere from three to ten. They live the simple life, raising and killing their own food. The mode of transportation is a breed of horse native to Asmenia and because of this, citizens are very good on horseback. In the summer time the cities are less populated as many have cottages out in the mountains or the forest area. Like in Dreisten, the people are known to be as hardy as the pine trees and as fierce as wild animals. Citizens living in rural areas come into contact with predators almost everyday and have learned to deal with them, while city dwellers are fierce, notorious business men/women. Asmenian's as a whole are known for their sharp wit as well as their proficiency with bows and long range weapons. Religion plays a huge part of everyday life and while each pocket of the kingdom has its owns traditions and beliefs, the most broad and influential religion would be the old Greek myths. there are a few temples set around the kingdom, but the most notable is in the capital itself. Most people have large working dogs to shepherd their herds, but there are some smaller breeds in the cities. In fact, the royal family has two smaller dogs. Unique Appearances: Asmenian people are known for their dark hair and light colored eyes. The sharp contrast of the dark hair and pale skin make them unnaturally beautiful. The nobles of Asmenia tend to have the blackest of black hair and yellow, feline eyes. Government Summary: The Alke family has been ruling for the past 132 years. Capital City: Krysanthe. It is the most lavish city in Asmenia with a gold covered palace and Greek inspired architecture. Cultural Inspirations: Asmenia is mostly influenced by Greek culture and Grecian beliefs. Architecture in large cities resemble ancient Greek buildings. The language of the people would also be some form of Greek, stronger in more urbanized areas. Naming Scheme: Nobles are given pure Greek names, while citizens are only influenced by the Greek naming system. Other: Asmenia and Dreisten are not on the best of terms. Rumor has it that they are on the brink of war and the celebration will either maintain a fragile peace or cause war to break out. The cause of this is realitively unknown (unleash you count the fact that Asmenia is still holding a grudge against Dreisten. There may or may not have been an attempted murder on one of the royal family' members 30+ years ago). Of course, that isn't the only probable cause. Economically tensions are high and taxes are rising in Asmenia. For all the speculation, no one really knows the one main cause for it. Unless you are a part of the royal family.

(Nope it looks good. Honestly the only thing that's even slightly incongruent between the kingdoms really is their differences in architecture from Romanian/Norse to Greek, but that really could be explained by the histories of the kingdoms. Due to the style of the buildings and geography, it's likely that Dreisten has a more "traditional" style for that area, while Asmenia took inspiration at some point in its history from a more southern kingdom and modeled much of its architectural style off of that. So there's really no problem. Anyways, my boyfriend will be here soon so I'll have to get off for the night. But I will add first thing when I get a chance tomorrow. Sorry.)

Name: Holald Blackthorne Gender: Male Age: 23 Profession: Guard Kingdom: Dreisten Appearance: To start, Holald has long blonde hair that sticks straight down to his chest. Usually worn up and out of the way, as most men in his family adorn their locks. His brow is very prominent, sticking out just enough to give him a distinct profile. Blonde hairs and a heavy lids give him a consistent angry grimace, suiting for a guard meant to intimidate outsiders. His eyes are a sea-green. Blue mixed in just enough to make distinctions between the colors relatively impossible. His nose is thick, and wide. Pressed closer towards his face, with a soft bridge leading down his face. It leans slightly to the right, left from fist fights in his younger years. A slight stubble is common for this man, as he is a tad bit lazy with self appearance. The blonde hairs on his face surround a wide mouth and thick, pink lips- pairing to his paled skin. Following is a rectangular jawline with a flat chin. A sturdy neck keeps his head held high. While some-what short, only standing about 5'3 in height. He can pack a mighty punch. All of his limbs are build like a tree, thick and sturdy. Along with his body, slightly plump and muscular; ready for the cold weather. He's built to outlast the cold and suffer in the heat. History: He abandoned his family and his home kingdom as a younger child, wanting to give up strict family traditions for a rule-breaking life style. He got in quite a bit of trouble and many fights over the years but started to grow tired of play. He learned many lessons through his hardships and went back to his family to make amends, but they had already cut him off. Family tradition to never bring back lost children. As he tried to fix himself, he found his family's social pull in the town was too much for him to live so he moved to another kingdom, one where he had a clean slate. And he aims to live by many of his family traditions, his is own way. First by making his way up in the ranks as a true fighter for his (now) kingdom.
If there is anything I can change please let me know!

(Well, here's my kingdom! Just a heads up, I like going crazy when making a civilization, so you'll have a lot to read! XD) Name: Shadar
(pronounced Shu-daar) Location/Geography: The Shadian (Shah-dian) Empire is a vast and powerful presence that lives beyond Dreisten's sea, to the south. Connected to the rest of Trenuin by a single land bridge, the region is vastly isolated from the usual machinations of the continent, and although it participates in interkingdom affairs, it is often viewed as a separate continent entirely. A land that is predominantly desert, the Shadian people once lived only in oases. However, the current Shadian Empire has extensive trade networks, allowing it to easily access the resources needed to survive across most of the desert. It has a strong coastal presence, and engages in heavy nautical trade. Major Resources/Exports: As the continent where Shadar is situated is primarily desert, most of the Empire's agricultural export includes dates, prunes, and coconuts. With longtime control of the sea around the region, the Empire also exports seafood, namely fish. However, the most valuable of Shadar's exports are precious metals. Mined deep in desert caverns, they are a primary value for the Empire. History: Those who lived in the region now known as Shadar primarily subsisted off of desert oases, while those near the sea lived mainly as fisherman. This changed 800 years ago, when the highly imperialistic Shadim family took power in the loose conglomerate of tribes that populated the deserts. Highly ambitious and brilliant tacticians, their leader unified the tribes and spread their influence to the coasts. By taking control of the sea routes, they were able to establish trading connections with other lands, easily growing in strength in comparison to their neighboring peoples. The following years saw a massive assimilation of the surrounding region, by economic and military force, until the entire region was under Shadim control. The now ruling family named the region, which had no official name, and was called different things by different tribes, Shadar. Their now sprawling kingdom, the Shadian Kingdom. Over the next 6 centuries, the kingdom grew in both size and influence. By maintaining absolute control over coastal cities and having the strongest connections with other kingdoms, they starved hostile neighbors of political influence. 600 years after the Kingdom was formed, the Shadian Empire, as it was now called, controlled most of the continent, either officially or unofficially. In the past 200 years, the Empire has not actively conquered new lands, but its massive size has allowed it to foster connections with most large kingdoms. It is the most dominant force on the continent. Culture: A long time ago, the tribes that lived in the region had diverse cultural identities and languages. However, after 800 years of living in a consolidated state, all of these cultures have merged together in what is now referred to as Shadian culture. Due to it's size, lifestyles are vastly different for its inhabitants. For those who live in the desert cities, life is fast-paced, crowded, and intrusive. Privacy is not a followed concept, and is rarely expected. Dwellings are cloistered around oasis springs, which serve as their primary source of water, but are regularly serviced with water from other reaches of the Empire. Those who live in the coastal villages experience a much slower, relaxed daily life, but one of more hardship. Although these coastal villages had once been the seat of power in the Empire, this has now shifted to the desert cities. As such, while those who live in the desert have a much more lavish lifestyle, there is a sense of poverty in the coast. Nevertheless, these cities are still well maintained as an important conduit to the rest of Trenuin. The camel has been the primary mode of transport and beast of burden for Shadar for centuries. Although trade has introduced them to horses and oxen, Shadians prefer camels for the hardiness of the desert, and it is difficult to find a different companion animal in the desert cities. Horses are more commonly seen along the coast, for quick travel among fringe villages. Shadian life is largely nonhierarchical, and is primarily guided by religion. There is no sector of nobility, and each individual is judged on their own success and family. There is an immense amount of respect by citizens towards the ruling Shadim family, and they will not tolerate anything they perceive as a slight towards the family. As such, the primary language spoken in the region is named Shadim after the language spoken by the tribe that the family initially hails from. The religion of Shadar is called Fasim, and it is an integral part of Shadian life. Shadian people are deeply religious, and follow religious tenets through their daily life. Both Shadian men and women dress nearly identically, with long flowing robes and cloaks to keep out the desert sun and sand. Children cover their faces in public, as they are seen to have free spirits that may escape if their face is seen outside. Children come of age at age 16. At age 13, they begin to learn self defense and basic combat techniques. Choosing an occupation in the military is seen as a source of pride for the family. Shadians are tolerant of outsiders, and anyone not seen as an enemy will be allowed within the Empire's borders. However, the capital city of Harah is seen as sacred, and non-Shadians are not allowed within. Official foreign business is conducted in another city. Unique Appearances: Due to the varying differences in appearances between tribes, Shadians have diverse appearances. Because of intermixing between tribes after unification, most modern Shadians carry genetic features from multiple tribes. As such, finding someone who is "pure" Shadian, carrying descent from the original tribe from which the Shadim family haled, is incredibly rare. It is speculated that only the Shadim family, who never married outside of their tribe, are "pure" Shadian. The vast majority of Shadians have darker skin, and those with original Shadian genes are the darkest. Darker skin is valued in this society, but lighter skin is not ostracized, as all Shadians are viewed as carrying Shadian blood. Eye colors are usually dark - browns, blacks, and blues. Lighter eye colors, while uncommon, are usually not viewed too strangely. However, Shadians born with yellow eyes are believed to have lost their spirits, and must go through many intricate rituals to attempt to regain them. Shadians are usually slight and unimposing, but can be just as proficient in a fight as a hulking brute. Government Summary: Each city is managed by a consul. The consuls report to the ministers, who are the direct subordinates of Emperor Azar Shadim. The Shadim family has ruled the Empire since its creation, and the Emperor has the final say in all matters. Capital City: The capital of the Empire is a noble desert city named Harah (huh-raah). It is a sacred city, and as such, non-Shadians are strictly forbidden from entering it, a crime punishable by death. Cultural Inspirations: Shadar is inspired by the Arabian peninsula. For the sake of cultural sensitivity, the language and religion will be entirely fictional. Naming Scheme: Naming patterns and architecture will be Arabic in design. Other: Shadar maintains positive relations with most of the other kingdoms. It has been criticized in the past about its heavy-handed approach towards crime, especially the pirates who raid the Empire's territorial coast. The Emperor has firmly refused to change his stance regarding the matter. (If anyone would like their Kingdom to have particularly positive or negative relations with the Empire, let me know!)

And here's the clan of seafaring people.
Name: The Ankurai People Location/Geography: The Ankurai are an isolated, self-sufficient group of people who live off the Dreisten coast. Although they are nomadic and primarily live on their network of rafts at sea, they frequently make sure of the archipelago a ways off the coast for resources and hunting. They rarely if ever land on the Dreisten mainland, but are classified as Dreisten citizens. Major Resources/Exports: The Ankurai are almost completely self-subsisting, with fishing as their primary means of living. They want for little, and what they are missing they trade for on occasion. Culture: A very small group of people, numbering around 250 individuals, the Ankurai have a very distinct and somewhat mysterious culture. Because so little is known about them, and the fact that they are rarely seen, means most people are unaware of their lifestyle. What is known, however, is that the Ankurai greatly value nature, especially the sea, which gives them life. They are a matriarchal society, and the Chieftain of the group is the eldest, wisest woman. The Ankurai have no concept of land ownership. However, they are extremely territorial of the remote, uninhabited islands just beyond Dreisten's coast. Although they do not live on these islands, they are integral to their livelihood, and perceived intruders are usually driven off. The Ankurai essentially maintain a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. They do not practice agriculture, and depend on the sea and islands to provide for them. They primarily hunt fish and seals, but in the summer, separate into large groups to hunt whales. Whales are sacred to the Ankurai, and every part is used, right down to the bones. The Ankurai are not hostile towards mainlan citizens, and are even willing to trade with them. Most adults are somewhat familiar with the common language, although language barriers continue to create a breach between cultures. For the most part, the Ankurai are not too concerned with the rest of Dreisten and are content with keeping to themselves. They have some level of awareness regarding the royal family and recognize that they can assist with their needs. As such, they do send a representative to the Decemvir Celebration. Unique Appearances: The Ankurai usually have a rugged appearance from life at sea. Their bodies, continually beaten with salty air and unimpeded sun has left them slightly darker than other Draesi, although they are still quite pale. Their hair is usually shades of red. Government Summary: The Ankurai are informally led by a female Chieftain, who is one of the oldest and wisest females in the group. However, this position often changes and is seen more collaboratory which can be confusing to an outsider expecting solid leadership. They do not maintain any formal government, and are under the jurisdiction of Dreisten law. Capital City: As a nomadic people, the Ankurai maintain no capital. All matters are handled aboard their boats. Cultural Inspirations: Primary inspiration drawn from semi-uncontacted indigenous peoples, and loosely, the Makah tribe.
Naming Scheme: They do not follow commonly known naming schemes. Names are random and confusing, and some have even taken to adopting commonplace Draesi names. Other: Currently, they maintain a neutral relationship with the mainland peoples. However, there have recently been rising tensions over incursions in their traditional hunting grounds, mainly by poachers.

Dreisten actually wasn't as cold as Asmenia, but without pine trees stretching as far as the eye could see and only flat tundra to entertain a person's thoughts, Dreisten felt colder. Callisto shivered and pulled the black bear fur coat around her shoulders tighter, her breath coming out in frozen puffs. The carriage jerked slightly as it brought her into town, its wheels rolling over the uneven road. The Duchess, gazing out the window with feigned detachment, shifted in her seat. It had been a long and hard ride and Cali was eager to explore the Captial City of Dreisten. The last time she had been to Atrosk was twelve years ago. The Duchess was only thirteen then and so embittered by life that she had hardly wondered the halls of the palace let alone the city. Now, she was ready to see what Dreisten had to offer.
"Driver, stop here. I would like to stretch my legs for a moment," through the small window in the front, she saw the driver hesitate as if he was about to defy her orders and take her straight to the palace like her sister had mandated; however, he relented and pulled over to the side of the busy and now crowded street. Cali opened the door quickly before he could change his mind. The cold wind hit her like a wave. Callisto smiled, "Hello Dreisten."

"Ya! Ya!" She snapped reigns on the harness hooked onto Bane as he pulled the sled into town. He barked several times as she did so, almost in a cheerful way as he ran harder and faster towards the town. Melissa's command was somewhat muffled by her layers of clothing. She had a black long-sleeved shirt on and then a sheep's coat on top. However, since she didn't have a hood on the coat, she wore a cloak also thay had a hood and the collar was made to go just below her nose. It was to keep the majority of her face warm without sacrificing sight. The wind was hitting her body harder since she was being pulled on the sled and standing up in the face of the wind instead of staying low. She was thankful she wasn't too cold though, it was mainly the exposed portions of her face that were cold. Her hands were gloved to keep her fingers from turning to ice.
She felt like a foreigner though because of how many layers she wore. Mainly because most people didn't wear so many articles of clothing during this time of year. However, she Hails from the northern, colder areas of the land and when traveling with high wind speeds, it could kill you. Finally though, they made it to the town. Bane slowed down significantly, and went to a walk as they moved through town. However, she wasn't on the sled anymore, she was walking beside him. She only needed to sell the meats amd coats they got from the goats, then she could go home. Her father didn't want her returning until she brought enough money home.

Callisto's heeled shoes clicked along the cobblestone stone streets. Men turned their heads to stare at her in thinly concealed interest, while their wives raised their heads a little higher and tightened their hold on their husbands. The children - white haired and pale eyed little creatures - gawked at her openly, to young to realized how rude they being. It was a common occurrence for the people of foreign lands to stare her down as her looks were completely and utterly unique to her family line. The yellow, feline like eyes were usually the main attraction. Once she had been Shadar and the people there had implored her to visit a Shaman because they believed that she was missing her soul. Her plump, pink lips curled in amusement as she remembered the interesting conversations she had had with Shadarian people.
Another gust of wind hit her lithe body and her teeth clattered. Her dress did little to cover her body as it was not made for the weather, but instead for formal greetings. So, she wrapped herself as tightly as possible in the black bear fur coat and continued to walk the streets of Dreisten. The market opened up and immediately she was greeting with the smells of produce and meat as well as the sound of people clamoring to be heard.

Melyssa could tell Bane was excited, he never really got to go into town with the exception of the few times a year they went to trade things. With that though, Bane's senses had been heightened dramatically as he wanted to take in everything. His ears were perked and he whipped his head this way and that trying to look at everything. When he focused in one direction though, Melyssa looked up from untying his harness. He was staring at a foreign woman. It was easy to tell she was foreign, her hair and eyes. Her eyes, feline they may be, spooked her. They were the kind that stared into your soul. Not only that but she was very pretty and was glad, for once, she didn't have a husband or was in a relationship or she would be worrying about them staring at this woman. She must have been royalty, judging by the way she dressed, but Melyssa shouldn't give it much thought. She needed to focus. Bane was focused thay was for sure.
Melyssa finally got his harness off and as soon as he was free, he darted over to the woman, barking in a tone that was between aggressive and excitement. "Bane!" He called out to him. He ignored her command though, which was never something he did. When he reached her though, Bane got down in an attack like position and started barking aggressively again. "Stupid mutt..." she thought to herself before going after him.

Callisto was just about to reach for a delicious looking morsel when she heard the barking of a dog. She turned her head and let out a startled sound when the dog (which looked too much like wolf in her opinion) stopped in front of her aggressively. The Duchesses hands curled in fright, but she stood her ground as she was determined not to let some canine beat her in public. Pointing one finger at the ground, she spoke forcefully in Greek, "κάθονται (sit)!"
The royal woman raised her head and gazed deep into the canine's eyes in dominance. She was used to dogs not caring for her based off her appearance, but it had never so so bad before.
