Hmm but then, the books would be boring, because then StarClan could just cone down and fight when the Clans are in trouble without dying. Then, it wouldn't be very interesting.

I like that they fade away, but I don't like that their existence is based upon memory. Sure the elders and queens probably tell the young ones about their ancestry, but how far back can they possibly remember? It seems like there would only be a limited amount of generations in star clan.
Them not being able to interact with older starclan warriors is a neat idea, though. Like, I know the names of my ancestors, but I never met them. So in a way I have forgotten their personality, but not who they are, much like the slowly disappearing starclan cats. Maybe that's why we haven't seen the founders in starclan yet?

I think I remember one of the erins saying that the StarClan cats go somewhere else after they die or fade away. I like this idea better than just having them fade into nothing.
I personally like to think that the StarClan cats are stuck in a half spirit, half mortal state by the Clan cats' memories. After they die of fade away they go to a higher place. All other cats that don't believe in StarClan or any kind of afterlife go to this higher place right away. I think it was shown in one of the books that StarClan cats don't make up the prophecies, but have dreams like the clan cats do. I think that the prophecies come from this place, and gives them to StarClan to pass on to the clans. This is just what I think of course and is in no way canon.
