Once the younger Raven girl had quickly scampered away, taking refuge in the tall stairwells and the vast hallways away from the bunch, Morgan heard a familiar voice greeting him, and turned to see none other than Eliza.
“Good morning,“ he answered warmly as he kept his expression free of the worry and tension he had just been feeling moments ago. He was glad to see that Eliza seemed to be faring well enough after the violent brawl, though with the letter he had just received, he could not bring all of his enthusiasm into his words. He was about to ask her if she needed anything from him (hopefully she hadn’t seen the letter), though it was soon cut off by Will.
He’d taken notice of William’s rather pointed actions over his stay whenever he was around Eliza multiple times. It didn’t irritate him, really, as it was rare for him to feel genuine annoyance or anger. Actually, he was left with a small sense of relief this time around, instead of the spark of good-humoured amusement that usually came across him whenever he saw the William Gansey becoming protective. If Eliza had been trying to speak with him when she’d been practically avoiding him as much as possible (which left him wondering if he had perhaps upset her in a way, though deep down in his head, he had a gist of knowing what thoughts might have been in her head), then it must have been something else that had caught her attention.
He’d also noted that she had suddenly started to refer to him formally. He didn’t press the matter, nor did he wish to. They didn’t walk on the same path, and he was sure that while he was bound to the Ravens until he was good as dead — if he wasn’t already gone by that point in his life — she would eventually move on, and he wished the best for her in that regard. If he truly wished for her wellbeing, he knew that it would be best if they kept their distance. For her, who he had subconsciously come to care for, he would let her go.
“It’s nice to see you as well,” he spoke with the same amount of calm cheeriness he had with Eliza when he turned to Will, who was just a little taller than he was. He’d also noticed the.. interest the former Rockshire seemed to be taking in Sybil, which he felt oddly mixed about in a way that he wasn’t quite sure how to deal with. Even though Sybil wasn’t related to him by blood, she still felt like a part of his family — or at least, the closet thing to a family he would ever get along with Lenore and Remus. The keen curiosity that Will was regarding Remus and Sybil — well, actually solely Sybil — almost made him raise an eyebrow, though he decided to remain silent.
Taking a step back, Morgan lightly felt for the letter that he’d concealed with the smallest brush of his hand, careful not to let the gesture go noticed. His lips were still slightly curved into an easygoing smile, though it seemed somewhat troubled when he spoke to them. “I should be going then. Let me know if you need anything.”
He was just about to leave when the chatter in the background seemed to stop, replaced with a small screech of a chair pushing against the floor, as if someone were holding onto it after losing their balance. His gaze traveled over to and on Sybil, whose face seemed to be contorted in pain, and instantly his effortlessly relaxed demeanour seemed to shift. He watched with worried molten orbs as she waved Remus off and addressed them before moving on to banter a bit more with Remus. Slowly, he felt his shoulders relax as she smiled, though the concern in his gaze hadn't quite vanished. He was merely someone who had grown up with the Ravens -- imagining himself in Remus' position of raising them and leading them all made his head spin. There was no way just anyone would be able to be where he stood. Not when most Ravens, including himself(he was guilty of that), seemed to pretend that they were all right when really, they were not. It was then he caught his scarlet-haired companion glancing over at the stairs with what looked like anticipation and wondered, possibly, if he was looking for something or someone. Probably the person with the letter, he thought to himself with a small inner sigh, unless it was the other person he could think of. How in the world was he going to present the letter to Remus?
"The moment you try to jump, Sybil, is the moment you will be tied down to the infirmary bed,and I'm going to make sure of it."
Swivelling around at the sound of the voice, Morgan soon came to face Lenore. She was… well, lithe and mystifying as ever with her deep, dark brown eyes and inky black hair. The only thing that had changed about her was that some color had returned to her face, and she looked much less ill than she had a month ago. For now, she had returned to her own room, and still walked around the corridors as if everything was fine, though he knew that it would take two or so more months until the wound on her shoulder would finally close with Benny’s treatments and medicine. The corners of her lips quirked when she regarded the others who had gathered, though there was a noticeable amount of worry that had filled her eyes when her eyes landed on Sybil, along with Remus. After all, he was probably one of the most tired out of all of them with all of the things that were going on. Maybe there was something else in her eyes as well when she regarded Remus, though it disappeared before he could understand what it had been.
“Lenore,” he said, greeting her with a slightly bemused note in his voice. He hadn’t been expecting to see her - she usually seemed to busy herself where there were the least amount of people, after all, perhaps with the exception of a few. If she had come here, she had probably crossed paths with a bunch of Ravens.
She made her way down the stairs as she spoke before standing with them, resting a hand on her chin in a thoguhtful manner - the way how a detective would when they were pondering over something, though, of course, her expression was much more light-hearted. “It’s been a while since the whole gang has gathered like this in one place... Is something going on?”

[ No it's fine misc ;v; I was half asleep when I posted, I didn't think to refresh the page which is what I normally do before posting. Next time if that happens, I'll edit mine so that it matches up like I am quick with them edits ] [ Eddie puff for days It will be amazing I swear plus it'll fill up these darn pages ] [ HARREHPOTTAHDIDYOUPUTYOURNAMEINDAGOBLETOFFIRAH ] [ I'm just trying to survive this semester and make it through to the next like heaven help me whogottimeforsleepanymore ]
At the sound of Lenore's voice, Sybil looked up at the same time that Remus's head snapped forward like a dog hearing the word 'Walk.' "Y'all are a bunch of worry warts" Sybil mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest like some pouting child. Which in some sense she was, she's been pouting for a bit now. Stuck in that infirmary room for nearly a month, it drives a person crazy. Sybil's been in there at max before this damn brawl, a solid week. And before she could easily handle a little bit of Benny's company and some bed rest but it was just. Too. Much. When she got over her fever, got over the need to be on that medicine Benny would shoot into his patients, and was able to sit up and walk around she just wanted things to go back to normal. She wanted to go back to working, she wanted to run around again and jump on the tables to make Remus cranky. She wanted to go in her library without someone lingering in the doorway watching her. And most importantly: she wanted those stupid, worry some looks to stop being tossed her way. She wasn't dead, she didn't die at the hands of some Shire ( It would have been cruel if she had died by a filthy Rockshire's hand ) and she wasn't gonna just drop dead.
Remus on the other hand was glad that he had someone else on his side that shared the feeling of tying down Sybil to a bed. The girl didn't know the word 'rest' when it was pushed her way. But that could wait. Instead, Remus straightened his back slightly. He caught that look that Lenore gave to Sybil and nearly scoffed at it, the side that was all dramatic and grumpy. He was fine. It should be everyone else taking a breather, not him. Instead of scoffing though he just let the side of him that felt relief when seeing Lenore. It occurred to him that he didn't really...see her that much. Or anyone for that matter, considering what he's been up to. "Evening Lenore..." He greeted after a moment, his tone sort of shifting to something softer when regarding her. Sybil glanced toward Remus and squinted slightly while hiding a very snarky remark behind her lips. Evening Lenore lalala I'm like everyone other airhead male in the world She thought to herself while the older Raven cleared his throat. "Well I don't know what the rest of you are doing, but I'm waiting for a certain letter to arrive. It's suppose to be here...." He muttered, fishing out his pocket watch once more to check the time.
It was suppose to be here...wasn't it? His days weren't being mixed up again were they? "Maybe it's late" Sybil muttered, but the man just shook his head. "It's never late. It's always on time but..." He frowned slightly and glanced toward the windows like the Raven was sitting outside with the darn paper clipped to it's wings. Sybil only shrugged, thinking it was some sort of blessing from the Game Master....that's what Sybil likes calling whoever is behind the Game. There was never a name to them anyway and she couldn't go on calling them 'Them' or whatever. So she called them Game Master. It sounded cool too. But anyway, they should all have a day off or at least have a nice lazy day. Like in the old days before this game was even a thing. Oh she liked those days, when the La Selina was closed and they would sit around a card table playing a nasty, cheating game of poker. Remus would get done with his numbers early, come join them and laugh around a bit. Yeah...good old days. Now it was always I got to get this done, I have to do this, I have to do that, this must be perfect or else.
And there was nothing anyone could really do, when things got like this. Hectic and stuffed with things to do, it was best to let it run it's course. Let Remus be a drama queen here and there, let the Ravens get all cranky and wait until someone flips a table and start a big old fight. It's how things went. Although there was this one nasty time when things were a bit too tense...a bit too...extreme. But that was a long time ago, no one talked about that incident. "Whatever, when it comes, it comes. I'm sure it'll be a interesting one too. I just hope we don't have to steal any more jewelry" Sybil sighed softly, she did not want another Lady Rebecca incident to happen. The last thing they needed was to drag home another William Gansey figure. She could handle one numb skull, not two.
Remus on the other hand didn't have that feeling, for he was automatically thinking of all the things that could have happened. The Purple Dragons could have gotten it, or the Crestels or the Rockshire's or-or just about anyone. What if the Rockshire's wanted to mess with them in the game...it certainly hasn't been done before and there was nothing saying you couldn't do it. And they certainly had the push for it as well, with Will still under their roof which it amazes Remus no one has snitched yet. Or maybe it was the Crestels who took the Raven who had gotten it and dragged them somewhere. With the mess they all made at that track he wouldn't be surprised.
"I don't know why you keep saying 'We'...if you can't even jump properly then there's no way you can come on the next job" Remus muttered while fixing his suit cufflinks- or rather cufflinks he ripped off some Purple Dragon's suit at the brawl. What? He likes shiny things.

Well, actually, Eliza is fairly quiet and I'd believe it that Will was still staring at Sybil don't worry, he knows he "doesn't like her" c;

That stylish poofy hair I’m curious to see what he looks like! I’ve seen some peeps who I can imagine him as but I ‘m not a 100% sure about their names ;v; ]
The moment she heard her name, Lenore’s dark eyes flickered over to Remus’ own icy blue orbs that had, if she wasn’t mistaken, a small hint of relief within them. She blinked at the small shift of his voice before the corners of her lip tugged upwards in a familiar smile, which seemed to reflect a particular degree of warm amusement when her gaze caught Sybil’s squinted eyes and expression. Thankfully the younger Raven seemed to be doing somewhat all right. If she could pull up a very Sybil-isque expression like that, then yes, Lenore could assume to some extent that she was holding up. Despite Sybil’s annoyance at how much of a worry wart they were, she wasn’t too sure if that part of herself — the side that silently worried — would change, either, as long as she was with these people. It wasn’t like her to concern herself with the wellbeing of others, and yet at the same time, it was. It was strange.
Remus was a good example of that. She momentarily closed her eyes. He was a scattered puzzle in her head - something that she was, perhaps without even realising, a little hesitant to piece together. The gentle touch of his hand on her chin as he’d held her head up, his much kinder - if not more vulnerable - side that seemed to appear quite rarely, but surely, and his reassurance that he wouldn’t turn his back away… The genuineness of it was all puzzling.
In the past, Lenore Ellison known someone who had not feared death for himself, but for the lives around himself. That eventually, those he had trusted would move on and leave his side, sometimes for good without meaning to. It wasn’t something that Lenore had quite acknowledged yet, but she was similar in that way. Perhaps that subconscious fear had to do something with her emphasis on distance.
Remaining where she was, her gaze only then flickered a little downwards, as if to regard a nonexistent space once Sybil spoke of not having to steal any more jewellery. That night with their run-in to the Crestles and the Rockshires had been enough. She doubted that they would somehow not meet them through this mission — this was a ‘game’ between all groups of the underground world, after all.
She listened to the brief conversation that was passing between Sybil and Remus regarding the arrival when she noted how uncharacteristically quiet Morgan was being, knowing that he would have piped in a word or two by this point. He would have agreed with Remus’s words in the end about how Sybil would not be able to participate in the next mission, bending his back a little so that he could face her with his both of his hands resting on his waist as he gently reprimanded her with his usual kindness and affection.
He only remained silent, however, with relaxed shoulders and a placid look on his face. Not many people probably would have been able to notice the discomfort in his warm eyes - something which he tended to hide quite well. It was easy to read the lean, young, and benevolent young Raven, but also difficult to understand him, if that made any sense.
“Morgan?”
“Ah, yes?” He turned his head, and she saw his dark molten eyes that seemed to glow brighter underneath the light, and his pale hair rest a little below his shoulders.
“Is something bothering you?”
He seemed to blink for a while before tipping his head to the side with a rather troubled smile gracing his lips. “About that…” He glanced over in the direction of Eliza and William with conflicted eyes before he seemed to make up his mind with a small momentary pause of thought. His gloved hand lightly pulled out the letter that had been tucked into his pocket and held it still. “I’m sorry,” he spoke with uncertainly entangled into his voice. It was apparent that he wasn't quite sure on how to react or what to expect -- but it seemed that he had decided that it would be best to show them all since they would most likely know anyway. It would be just a matter of time before they were informed of all the gritty details of the next mission, and, by the looks of it, they were most likely going to be the ones involved. “I just received it as well. After I saw you with Sybil, I was planning to…” He pursed his lips a little. “To give it to you a little later.”

Remus had no idea that Morgan had even been acting strange, with how consumed he was in checking his watch, bickering with Sybil...looking at Lenore here and there between looking at his watch. But as soon as Morgan took that letter out of his little hiding place, Remus felt a part of him bristle. He pressed his lips together, and let his feelings just take a second to simmer. He wasn't....angry. He was annoyed. Annoyed that Morgan seemed to intervene himself, just because of some silly banter between him and Sybil. He was annoyed, already frustrated with everything else. He didn't need someone to but in, they needed to get ahead of the game. Get moving and get a handle on it once more. "Remind me to tell the others to deliver these personally to my own office. And no where...and no one else" He said, trying his best to keep the attitude out of his voice. He'd been standing here worrying that the letter didn't even arrive when really Morgan thought it was a good idea to just hide it because of a small, time consuming moment with a stubborn girl. "Just...Don't do it again...please" Remus said with a scolding tone to his voice, the thought of being angry was actually a bit too much for him right now. So he reached forward and gently took the letter from Morgan's hands, wanting to have snatched it the moment he saw it and maybe slap Morgan with the paper afterwords.
Sybil pressed her own lips together and frowned a bit, watching Remus turn away from the group and walk away some steps as he began to open the letter. Her eyes drifted to Morgan and shrugged, she knew that the man meant well. He probably liked the scene of normalcy with Remus and herself bickering with each other. She was sure that it brought some kind of comfort seeing their leader wasn't over stressing about a stupid piece of paper and was instead playfully hashing it out with someone else. But Remus Hawkins was a man of business before anything else...play time came after the stress and worrying and whatever else was behind him. It was times like this she actually wished that Remus had another life other then sitting in that office and just writing away his life with numbers and other crap.
Remus removed the wax seal and his fingers went to unfold it only...he hesitated. Again they were being tossed into this, he's done this before each time and felt nothing but a boost of confidence...maybe because he was sure they would get the item in time without any set backs. But now...he felt...he refused to admit the word to describe how he felt was frightened because he was not a man to be scared. He wasn't scared. But he had a small voice telling him to just hand it back to Morgan and tell him to burn it. To march up to Dante's office and tell him that they were quitting the game. That he couldn't handle another mission gone wrong or another faulty plan. He couldn't risk another mistake, he couldn't....he didn't want to fail again for many reasons. He didn't want to be...punished again for a mission gone wrong. But he didn't have a choice here, he didn't have the nerve to do any of that anymore. Maybe when he was younger, when he had a mouth like Sybil's or when he had a calming aura around him like Morgan. But he was older now and he had other people to worry about other then himself.
So he unfolded the letter, and let his eyes skim over the first couple of words. "Ohhh Remus? Don't keep us in the dark, what does it say? Is it a poem? Are they confessing their undying love for you and your red hair?" Sybil called to the man, who had been standing there for a while reading the paper. What was he doing? Memorizing it? Remus lifted his head slightly and turned to the others, his eyes skimming each and every single one of them before speaking:
If you are all done with playing with each other, I believe this game should get underway once more. Your task for this month is going to be a challenge. Since I did not receive my necklace then I shall simply aim for something a bit tougher. There are documents that the Royal Guard's General will be given concerning information fatal to this game. So that is what I want, those documents. Get these documents and you will be one step closer to understanding why this game has started and one more foothold into controlling all of Britain. "This one is a lot longer then the rest" Sybil muttered. But there is only one catch. I request you only send 3 people. The Royal Guard is nothing like the normal officers you see in the streets of London. They are smarter. One of you know how smart they can be. Bring me the documents, only 3. 11-10-56Remus finished with the date the mission would be taking place....and closed the letter while his eyes trail to the ground. A troubled gaze has come over his eyes as he let his thoughts wonder a bit. "Well that sounds like fun" Sybil said, sarcasm dripping from each word, overflowing with it. Her eyes went back to Remus, who seemed a bit...not freaking out but a bit spooked. "Something wrong oh powerful leader?" She asked, tipping her head slightly toward the man. Remus blinked, looking back up to the group before clearing his throat. "No ah...I just...I might have a way of getting us in with this one"
"You already have a plan? That's a new record. Last time it took you 20 minutes"
"I know, I impress myself sometimes" He muttered. Of course, Remus never skips a chance to try and feel good about himself. "Well whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be great. We-"
"There is no 'We' Sybil Rye. There's no chance in hell you are coming on this job" Remus said as he folded up the letter and tucked it inside of his suit jacket. "I always go on the jobs, who else is going to go?" Sybil scoffed, her eyes narrowing at Remus. Alright, now the banter of this subject was slowly turning into a well simmering argument. She could feel it in her bones and even the bones that were all sore. "Well, considering my plan I was going to take Morgan and...someone else that fits the criteria of a guard" Remus said, musing over the vague plan inside of his head. "But I know for a fact that you cannot go Sybil. You're much too short"
"Excuse me?"
"Not to mention you look more like a little boy then a grown man...Will fits more the criteria then you do"
"Are you kidding me?! You're thinking about bringing...He already has a room on the third floor with the rest of us, right next to mine thanks to you. And I'm not that short! Someone tell him I'm not that short" She turned toward the others, a frown on her face while she looked around at the group. Remus rolled his eyes while looking at the girl, refraining from smacking her with the paper. "Sybil, you are that short. You can't even reach the top shelf of a bookshelf." Remus sighed, watching as the girl scowled slightly and look off to the side. "I'm fun size not short...."

《 “Game Master”. I've heard that before. Is it from a book or something?
Sorry if this is a little scattered; I'm sleepy 》
The Black Ravens worked differently than the Rockshires, that was for sure. Will had been surprised at every step of the way how much more… homely their whole operation. Of course, the boss was a piece of work, but if he had to choose between him or Beake, he'd go with (what's the boss’s name again?) any day. Of course, he'd observed all of this from a distance. It wasn't a secret among the Ravens, of course - gossip seemed to travel quicker than the event's actual occurrence here - that Will was with them now. He liked to think Remus and Lenore and the others - except perhaps for Sybil - had accepted him well enough, but others found it… Not as simple, given his reputation. It was okay, he understood. Will wasn't any more sure of who he was to be in this identity than any of them.
With the Rocks he'd made a joke of everything - if one took nothing seriously, what was there to hold against people. But with the Rocks… it really wasn't anything like the Ravens. They were like drowning victims, ready to scramble above water on any purchase they could find, even if that meant drowning another. There was no camaraderie. He had no space to be kind when everyone held a knife to each other's throats. Here he could still decide who he wanted to be. If only he knew his way around making friends as well as he knew how to manipulate a hand.
He figured the first step was to earn trust and respect, and if there were any similarities at all between the gangs, the best way to accomplish that was with results. He needed a job, something to prove himself - and there was only one such job he could think of. And so he was here for the same reason as everyone else. He hadn't expected for Morgan of all people to have it, however.
Will listened carefully as Remus read the letter aloud, allowing the wheels to start turning in his head. Documents - this one tickled his mind as a little funny. Why documents? So far, the tasks had been seemingly random tasks; all profitable to however should accomplish them, but fairly meaningless. The necklace, for example. No one specifically should need the awful Lady Rebecca’s necklace. But the documents obviously contained something important, so however succeeded in this task would not only gain the Game Master’s favor but information about this whole operation unknown to every other group.
Will tilted his head, grinning at Sybil's animated response, particularly at his own mention. “Does it bother you so much that we're neighbours now, Sybil? We could always knock the wall down, if that would make you feel any better. Then we'd be roommates.” He shot her a wink, partly because he knew it irked her and partly so she'd know he was kidding. He might’ve been a shameless and obnoxious flirt, but at least he was respectful - in real life. He opened his mouth to continue, but was interrupted by his sister.
“Pardon me, Mr. Hawkins,” Eliza cut in, having to correct herself before she tried to say ‘Remus’. “But Will is recognizable. I'd like to go in his stead. You must know I can handle myself…”
Will cut in, shaking his head. “That may be true - and who could blame me for all this -” He gestured dramatically to his whole self, then shook his head again. He looked at Eliza, Sybil and Lenore in turn. “Apologies. I mean this in no way to criticize any of your skills for this kind of job but… The Royal Guard are all men. It doesn't matter how strong or fast you are if they instantly recognize you as women. It is simply a matter of what would be most convincing.”

Yup they’re all soaring cx Bring the detectives!! Very true haha I have no idea what time is what anymore I've lost all sense to time
That’s all right, Ult! Your response is wonderful as always so don’t worry about it c: ]
Lenore blinked once before the corner of her lip quirked up along with her eyebrow. She’d known that Morgan had been being unusually quiet, though she didn’t know that he was the one who had the letter. She could understand why he’d been holding onto it hesitantly, and his thoughts made her subtly amused. She saw the lean Raven’s lips tug a little sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly bashful, and heard him murmur another apology. His pale hair, which appeared a glimmering white underneath the light, fell over his lowered eyes. It seemed that though he was a criminal, some part of him was still young at heart.
She only gave him a small look, which he silently returned with the same tug of his lips to Sybil as well, before turning her attention back to the tall and somewhat irked Raven who was removing the wax seal. Her eyes caught the hesitant movement of his hands, albeit almost unnoticeable. She could understand why Remus seemed to anxious. In truth, she wasn’t that much at ease even if she had the smallest hint of an enigmatic smile on her face like usual with her arms crossed over her chest in a relaxed manner.
Remus Hawkins was known for his wit and his capability to pull missions through, no problem. It was how he had become where and who he was now, understanding risks and predicting possible outcomes that would be the most beneficial for them. But… after the games had started, things had become unpredictable. No one knew when which mission would be their last anymore. Some of the tension seemed to loosen at Sybil’s comment, to which even allowed a small bit of humour to return to Morgan’s eyes.
Her dark eyes watched as his gaze traveled over each and every single one of them, and proceeded read the letter. She silently agreed with Sybil’s mutter. It was much longer than the other letters they had received so far. Her attention was sharply alert, however, and her eyes narrowed when the letter mentioned of possibly knowing why the game had started in the first place. Things were not going to be known or revealed for a long while, that much was for certain. The Game Master really did love toying around with their minds. Why documents of all things?
When Will dramatically gestured to his whole self, Lenore almost shook her head to the side with a small hint of exasperation. He was… well, he had been a Rockshire, but she found that he wasn’t so bad. Not when his words differed from his actions, and there seemed to be something about him that resonated in her head as caring. She only leaned her weight on her right foot and matched his gaze with her own when he turned to look them in turn.
As much as she didn’t like the idea of accepting it, he did have a reasonable point… if this was the plan that they were going with, that was. “I understand what you’re saying,” she said calmly before her focus turned to Remus, her hidden dark eyes narrowed in thought. This wasn’t safe. At all. Tricking and deceiving a few of the guards who roamed around the streets was nothing. Infiltrating the royal guard after being disguised was a completely different story. One hair of a mistake and they would be…
“Is there no other way around this?”
It was a pointless question. Deep down, they knew the answer that there probably wasn't. They could send other Ravens, yes, but to send them to something like this would be handing them their death sentence, and as much as she did not want to see the individuals in front of her go, she did not want to see other less experienced Ravens not return.
~
“I was going to take Morgan and someone else that fits the criteria of a guard.”
Raising his head, Morgan’s eyebrows furrowed the slightest bit before some recognition slipped into his gaze. A way of getting them in, people fitting the ‘criteria of a guard’…. He drew in a small breath before letting his gaze wander over the walls in thought, pulling the pieces together of what he could mean. Remus wasn’t thinking of doing what he was thinking, was he? His attention then flickered over to Sybil, who seemed to be slowly engaging herself in an argument with the scarlet haired Raven.
“You’re much too short.”
Ouch. The young Raven bit the bottom of his lip (not out of holding in a laugh, oh no, if anything he was far from even thinking about laughing) and raked a hand through his hair, which had fallen mostly over his eyes. They still mingled in with his pale lashes, though he could see much better now that he’d pushed some strands back.
It was true that if he knew what Remus’ idea was, then Sybil would not be fit for the job, nor was she fit for any death-involved mission in her current condition. When he caught Sybil’s eyes, he shook his head a little to the side. She’d be cross with him for not taking her side, no doubt, but he wasn’t willing to see her stuck in another mission with a still-healing wound that had been inflicted not so long ago, to make things worse. Right now, she needed to focus on recovering.
So if this were to be set in motion, then he’d be working with Remus and Will? His gaze traveled over to the flirtatious individual as he regarded the three women. He was right. If Sybil, Eilza, or Lenore were recognised as women, which was actually rather easy considering their build and facial features, they would be in a lot more trouble. He paused at Lenore’s words, which were collected as her gaze, though he could also hear a hint of something else in her voice. Reluctance, perhaps. Yes, it seemed to border on reluctance. He knew how dangerous this job was going to be and could tell to some extent what was going on in her head as well. One mistake would end everything.

[ Which brings to the table: Why the heck are we not bears ] [ flllyyyinnnnngggg, there's not a star in heaven that we can't reach lol ] [ we must figure this out watson I was actually trying to remember 'Game Keeper' because of the fact Hagrid had that title before and I was like 'What was it?' so most likely 'Game Master' was probably used in a book somewhere. ] [ It's just day and night now, just a blurrrrr ] [ Ult your responses are always so good even when you're tired Dante Joan is the name of the Black Ravens boss, but for the life of me I can't remember the Purple Dragons one rip]
Sybil rolled her eyes as dramatically as she could to Will's comment, which was a upgrade from the digest ridden face she would wear whenever he spoke. So things were getting better that's for sure, Remus would have to make note of that in his Maybe we can really keep William Gansey and not muzzle him book. Frankly Remus rolled his eyes as well, but honestly he shouldn't cause Remus had said those exact words before many times. But besides Will's dramatic gestures he had to agree - oh that was a weird feeling - because Will was right. Sybil, Eliza and Lenore would never be able to pull off a man's look. Sybil has only passed off as a young boy before but never as someone older. Plus Remus had a very, very good understanding of how a Royal guard should look like.
"I'm afraid Will here is correct...Royal Guards are not idiots like our lovely officers who patrol around here...they know when a women is in their presence and not a man" Remus said, feeling a bit bad that Sybil had to sit out on this sort of job...she had been included in every single one before this one but due to her injuries and sadly her own body she can't come. There was no way she could, nor could he bring Eliza or Lenore. Simply tucking their hair in a cap and wearing tight binds around their chests wouldn't do. "It's just...best if you all stay here. This is quite literally a man's job" Remus tried to word it as best he could, looking to the little blonde who was just tapping her foot on the ground with her hands on her hips.
"Yeah I suppose" She muttered after a moment before looking to Gansey. "But in no way am I agreeing with you. Just with the idea....You don't need any encouragement" She said and went back to tapping her foot. She was mostly sour about being called short to be honest and having someone else confirm it. "But can't one of us come as like....a watch out? You don't need three of you to go in. Wouldn't two make better sense going in? Less of a chance to get caught" She said. "Obviously this plan of yours isn't going to be the first. Lenore or Eliza could come as a look ou-"
"No!-I mean no, no it's fine" Remus jumped a little too quick to say no to Lenore coming, clearing his throat while glancing down. That was the last thing he needed, someone else to worry about rather then focusing on the mission itself. "I rather you all stay here, maybe keep things uh...safe"
"Safe? What the heck goes on here that makes you think something will happen? Someone stealing the poker chips?"
"Actually that one guy is back and keeps taking them and I rather him not run away with those"
Sybil rolled her eyes again, wishing she had a brick to knock against her head. "Then what do you all plan on doing? I mean I know Will is recognizable but so are you and Morgan. You got two well known figures in this group, and frankly with Morgan's hair color it's hard to not recognize him. No offense" She said, counting on her fingers as an emphasis. "I know that but with my...connection that will be no problem" Remus said. "I can get us in as far as to the front doors but maneuvering us into the core of the actual palace is like stepping into a mine field. With the other gangs-"
"You have a connection within the Royal Guard?" Sybil interrupted, making Remus close his mouth and for a moment a look of loathing passed behind his eyes. Like he had hoped to pass through that bit without having to touch on it. "Yes...I do" He said slowly. "I had no need of it...." I did't want anything to do with him "...Until now. It's not a sure fire connection but it's enough to get us the uniforms and the ticket inside. It will require a phone call or two but I can get us in." Remus switched the subject gracefully, smoothing down the front of his jacket as he looked at the two other males. Yes...he could work with this.
He knew exactly how to get in and it required a few...family ties. But this time he would hope that maybe there was enough to scrape up for this mission. But Morgan would be enough to pass off as a guard, comb that long hair back enough and it would look just fine. William though...ah the date of the mission was just a couple days. Not long enough to get Will's body into a somewhat Guard like style. Still, a rich boy like him knew how to stand at attention hopefully.
"Okay right, so what this will be a guys night out? A little bonding party? Maybe after you guys can come back and do each other's hair. Or go shopping" Sybil said after a moment, a smile stretching on her lips at the look Remus gave her. "Sybil I know you don't like this but right now I need you here. I need you right here in this building, all three of you. Cause right now, you all are just too...." He pressed his hands together trying to search for the right word. "...fragile for this"
OH
"Remus Hawkins I know you didn't just say that" She said, pressing her lips together at Remus's cringe. "I did, and I am slowly regretting my choice of wording but at the same time it's true" He said, watching as the girl shook her head, eyes wide with some unknown frustration behind them. "Excuse you Hawkins but I know for a fact, that none of us are fragile. Me and Eliza both kind of proved that when we went into that ring and fought our butts off. Lenore got shot for crying out loud." She said, her hands flying up in the air as a sort of exaggeration for it. She swore, men all had the same flipping mind set. Just as soon as a girl gets hurt, no matter how tough she was, it seemed to be a sign to the males to just keep them safely tucked away somewhere so no further harm will come to them. She thought, she really did, that Remus would never be pushed that far to that point but apparently these past couple months probably have spooked him. Lenore getting shot, Eliza and herself getting hurt in the brawl. Sybil's dealt with worse! Did he forget that they had a fighting ring in their freaking basement?! She fought in that! She's had bloody noses and bruises for days before the Game.
"And that's a good reason for you all to stay, and rest. I don't need to toss you all back into it so fast. You need to recover and rest up. You don't need to worry about anything" He said, trying for a small smile and a shrug. "Everything will be fine" He added. Remus was set on making it alright. He was set on making sure that it would turn out fine, that they will all leave that place with nothing but maybe a few bruises or less, and the documents in hand. Remus needed to make sure this went as smooth as he could make it.

There were quite a few things spoken here that made Lenore raise an eyebrow as the conversation continued. One, what Remus had said, two what Remus had said, and three what Remus had said. Four- did she mention what Remus had said? She listened quite patiently, as Sybil was practically covering most of the things that she would have said. Then there was the mention of his connection with the Royal Guard, and the flash of resentment within his blue eyes. Something that he hadn't wanted to mention or speak of. She let her gaze, which had been studying his face, trail to the side to a different side of the looming walls around them. Everyone here had a past that had lead them to this organization. They all had connections that they did not wish that they had in the first place. No one spoke of them, and no one wished to speak of them. While there was a very faint curiosity that had sparked in her head, she did not dare to pressure the matter or even add onto what was being said. If it was something that had made Remus' eyes flash like that, then there must be a good reason for why he had not spoken of it even with Sybil. Perhaps one day, she would come to know - perhaps one day she would be courageous enough to talk openly with him - about herself as well.
In any case, while it was true(and she did admit it) that they would never pass to look like three royal guards, there was also a point in Sybil's words of contributing as a possible look out. His hurried decline of the suggestion left her to raise an eyebrow, though she could tell that he wouldn't notice because his head was glancing down, as if finding a new keen interest in the floor. And then there was his words about keeping poker chips safe. There was a small feeling of frustration - that was something new to digest in a long while - that grew inside of her, not at Remus, exactly, but more at the situation itself because the royal guard was involved. Because she knew quite plainly that the plan wouldn't work if they set out disguised as men. Because she understood that if she were in Remus' position right now and she was the one who had to tell him to stay, she would tell him the exact same things he was saying right now and act the same way.
At Sybil's comment about his hair, Morgan's lips quirk into a weak smile as if to say none taken. He, too, was listening calmly to the things that were being passed around without raising his voice to be heard, his attention flickering back and forth from Sybil to Remus. He was lightly tugging at the edge of his glove and flexing that same han to let the garnment fit tightly, as if to keep his hands distracted.. until there was the mention of the cursed word 'frail.' His molten eyes lit up and widened a little in bemusement. If Remus had said that to someone else who was not capable at all, perhaps he wouldn't be as alarmed, though this was Sybil and Lenore and Eliza they were talking abuot. Sybil, Lenore, and Eliza. Sybil, one of the most well known fighters of the Ravens amongst the gangs with her agility and vigor, Lenore who was probably one of the most frightening Ravens in and out of a fight with a mysterious rumour to support it, and Eliza, who had proven herself to be more than capable of handling herself through various circumstances with a quick mind and the ability to fight despite her short stay compared to the rest of them. But Remus' resolution to not take them, despite their abilities, was plainly visible for everyone.
He tentatively glanced over in Lenore's direction, only to see that... she looked perfectly calm. Perfectly fine. There wasn't even the smallest spark of anger in her eyes when she said, "I suppose you're right." Morgan blinked. Did he just hear that correctly? Had Lenore just agreed to what Remus had spoken with a prefectly normal, perfectly collected voice? He narrowed his eyes in her direction as if somehow that would allow him to see any missed trace of sarcasm. But there was none. There was no way she would have agreed so easily like this - was there something else she was thinking of in her head? It was so hard to see if she meant her words or if she had an underlying intention behind them because her expression remained level as did her dark eyes, which were clouded in secrets as usual. Her gaze turned to regard Sybil and Eliza in turn. "We should be focusing on something else. Now then... why don't we try and figure out a way to keep that man away from the poker chips? It'd be a shame if he gets to them again." She turned around, only glancing at them over her shoulder as if telling the two to follow her. "I think I may have an idea, but I'm going to need your help."

《 I am here. The moment you’ve all been waiting for except not. I’m just slow. Okay I sleep now. 》
Eliza pursed her lips. She lived by logic - by facts and common sense. She wasn't like her brother, who had always had his head in the clouds. She knew he was intelligent, but he was also a dreamer. Eliza liked to keep her feet firmly planted on Earth. And so she understood that it was only logical for it to be the men who disguised themselves as guards, rather than the women - it was simply more believable. They would only have to convince the others that they belonged, not that they were also male. It made sense - but that didn't mean she was happy about it. She needed this job - needed the money to pay off her only-growing debts. She couldn't… she couldn't be like her parents, who had crumbled and allowed their sudden poverty to take them, not having worked a day in their lives. She couldn't be like Will, who set out to support him and his sister, only to find himself appointed a Prince . Eliza couldn't allow herself to be consumed like that.
And then, of course, Remus had to go calling her and Sybil and Lenore fragile . She straightened, green gaze sharpening into needlepoints. Fragile her… She might’ve slapped him had Sybil not already begun to tear into him, and that really wasn't in her nature. Instead she settled on staring, unwavering and unforgiving. She wasn't really so mad as annoyed. She knew Remus hadn't meant it quite the way it had come out, but it was still an ugly thing of him to say.
Lenore, to her surprise, did not seem upset at all. But then again, Eliza thought, she'd never really seen Lenore lose her composure. Eliza respected that immensely - in fact, Lenore was in some ways exactly what she strived to be. Just not here. She'd build a life for herself somewhere, hopefully far away from London. America, she'd promised herself for so long. She'd sail across the sea to start a new life in North America. She still wished for that. The Atlantic had never felt so vast before.
Lenore’s following comments surprised Eliza even more. She didn't even want to know the plan? Instead she was just accepting Remus’s sad excuse about the poker chips? She blinked at Lenore, confused for a second before it clicked for her. All at once, her expression softened, reverting to it's usual soft composure. She nodded, turning to follow suit. “Of course,” she replied sweetly, the pointedness in her voice just an echo in the spaces between words. “What a shame it would be for the men not to be able to play any poker.” Oh, Eliza wouldn't mind that at all, actually. She despised the idea of gambling. She made sure that her hand accidentally brushed Morgan's as she passed, and to just barely give him a glance.
Okay, perhaps she was feeling a little petty - none of this was Morgan's fault. She'd been avoiding him for the past few days - for good reason. She knew… what she'd been doing before. And it wasn't fair to him if there was no way she was going to stay. After she'd been so pointedly him… she couldn't just flirt with him because she was feeling a little peeved with society at the moment. She really shouldn't be annoyed with any of them. She rolled her shoulders back, following after Lenore.

[ Because we are all Bears, bears can be slow. CONFIRMED ] [ Yus go to sleep Ult, sweet dreams ] [ Those days when girls crushed on Zac Efron because of High School musical but now they just crush cause he's just plan hot ] [ We need like a list of stuff for this one roleplay lol ] [ Remus you got everyone else in trouble bruh ]
"Yeah! An- Wait what?" Sybil turned her head at Lenore's words, totally ready to rip into Remus like he was a piece of paper. Her confusion was painted over her face as the girl began to leave, not even wanting to hear these guys sorry excuse of a plan? With how calm they were being...how could someone be that calm after basically being insulted? Sybil was annoyed, nearly angry and ready to punch....Will because she certainly wasn't allowed to start fights with Ravens...but Will wasn't a Raven so he was fair game. She looked back at Remus who only shrugged with a sheepish look on his face, like he was sorry for even uttering the word out loud. All Sybil could do was look back and forth at the retreating girls and the men before letting out a frustrated sigh. "Yeah sure, what a shame. Of course I know a nice place that we can stuff those poker chips for safe keepings" She grumbled while walking past them. She only sent Will a annoyed glance before pushing on to follow Lenore and Eliza.
When they were far enough away Sybil went on to grumbling, kicking at the carpet wishing she could stain it with something. Like wine or whatever. "Please tell me we're leaving dead rats in their beds tonight? And that we aren't going to be talking about poker chips cause I swear to god, I don't know how to handle poker stealing guy" Sybil muttered. It was sad that she even remembered the man, some weirdo that came by and took things from their gambling hall and tried to sell off to others as some priceless set given to him from overseas. Remus had to personally see to it that man learned his lesson.
"Or we can leave dead fish, the smell is worse" Sybil stopped walking to lean against a wall, seeing as they were far enough away for the boys. She didn't catch on that this was probably about the boys and not some dumb poker chips but to be honest she was going to be dumb for 5 seconds and thinking about all the dead things she could leave in the boys beds tonight. Not just Morgan, Remus and Will- No Will was going to get 2 dead fish. Yeah that's it. Just because she could too.
"I can't believe Remus even said that, stupid smug bird brain" She grumbled. Okay maybe she was more upset about being called fragile then being called short. She didn't understand where that train of thought even came from? Just because they got cut up a bit? It wasn't the first time...Remus was never one to think of the Black Ravens women as fragile. He's been in this business for a long time. The worse part about this, is that she really wanted to go and do something dumb just to prove a point like climb to the roof or go and pick a fight in some bar. Honestly...it didn't matter if he wanted to word it differently. He said it, wasn't smart, but...if she had to look at it from another angle then....he was probably trying to say I'm worried about you so please don't come which was understandable. With everything going on it was...stressful. No! She wasn't going to try and excuse Remus, she was going to prove him wrong by...by tossing a rock at him or something. Dump ink all over his desk....steal all his suits and burn them.
No that was too far. Other then money and his friends, Remus had a odd love for his suits.
If things were different boy...she really wanted to know if Remus was planning on marching into that palace through the front door. He had never...mentioned anything about having a contact inside the Royal Guard. It was nearly impossible to get a guard under the thumb of a gang. The Royal Guards were all but spotless, they were checked and checked again and again before being put on a unit. Goes to show just how much Sybil didn't really know about Remus's life outside of the Ravens. She didn't even know anything about his family, only that he hated talking about them for some reason. Each time you even try to bring it up, it was like he would instantly excuse himself before getting further. Unlike Sybil who basically all she had to say was My mom and dad are dead and my brother left me, the end while Remus probably had some sad backstory. Oh my dad beat me, oh my mother died when I was a baby, oh my brother raised me basically. Whatever it was.
She hoped Lenore had something tucked up her sleeve, something clever and smart. Cause even if Sybil sucked at making plans, she was sure Eliza and Lenore could think of something. They were smart, they were clever and quick with their wits while Sybil depended more on her feet and fists then her brain. Whatever they were to talk about, she hoped Lenore made it so the boys could see just how fragile they were.
-
Remus watched as the girls walked away, feeling a tinge of guilt for saying what he said. The look Eliza gave him almost made his soul shiver in it's place but what said was said. That was what popped in his brain and frankly he was too tired to think of another word. "Right....I guess I'll deal with that later" Remus muttered. Eh it wasn't the first time he had 'women problems' frankly, one time he had the nerve of doing the same thing with the Purple Dragons but that was easy to patch up with money and lots of shiny gifts and compliments. Now though, he was sure he would have to let them each take turns slapping him...or punching considering Sybil hated slapping. She thought it was weak and that a punch got the message across better. But that was for later, right now he had to deal with this. When this was done he'll let the girls slap him around a bit and hopefully things would be better after.
Hopefully.
"Anyway....so I plan on using my contact to help get us into the Queen's palace, we're there to pick up important letters to transfer to the Captain who is away on business. I'm able to snatch us some suits which should fit us...Will might need to wear double layers to fit in them but that's fine...I mean assuming you want to go" Remus waved his hand as began to explain. "What we have to do though is distract the Lieutenant. He'll be there to over see we get the right documents, so we need his eyes directed else where while one of us slips the prized documents with the rest of the letters." It sounded easy...his contact was...well he couldn't be personally interacting with his contact just using his name in turn he hoped that the Captain was away on a trip...from the last time he checked he should be. The General was always with the Queen so there was nothing to worry about there. But then again there was the small chance the Captain or the General would walk in on them making the swipe. And was it bad that he feared for the fact being caught by the Captain more then the General?
"Basically we're making a normal swipe, and once we make the swipe we can leave even through the front gates...maybe take a few horses" Remus muttered, the scene of the plan running through his head. Him, Morgan and Will walking right up to the front door, being stopped by other similar dressed guards on why they were here. The lieutenant leading them to the General's office, unlocking it and leading them inside. Remus could easily make the swipe while Will distracted the guard with his talking. Morgan would be that one point that wouldn't change, keeping the Lieutenant unaware of what was happening. It seemed so easy in his brain...if only. He wasn't taking in the variable of the other gangs showing up with the same idea probably. But it was harder for them...they didn't have a relative in the Guard nor did the Royal Guard have debt to the other gangs. No, the Royal guard were treated well and had a stable enough life to never dip into the underground of London. Not to mention they knew exactly where their loyalties lie.
He should know, as humble as these guards could be a certain someone made it clear where the line draws for family and work.
"The hard part will be getting the documents, the easy part is just walking up to the front door. I can brush you two up on how to properly act around them...it's basically like being a normal officer only...a lot more...prestigious." Remus ran a hand through his hair, looking over Morgan and Will. "Do you two understand that much? I mean of course you probably do but...this isn't like taking an officer...we're basically walking into our enemy's territory. The bigger enemy. The kind that want to imprison us or you know..." Remus made a pulling gesture upwards like he was holding a piece of rope.
God that was frightening wasn't it? The thought of being killed...well at least the plus side was the idea of being a step closer to understand this mad game. His fingers were itching for those documents and to read them. He wanted to look over them and understand a bit of who was making them run around like a bunch of mice looking for cheese.
"Of course if we do everything as smooth as possible we should be alright. The palace is no place for the others gangs to cause a scene. Too much risk for us, especially if they decide to rain down their forces onto us without a second glance"

“We’ll be leaving dead rats and doing something else,” answered Lenore, whose voice didn’t seem to clearly indicate whether if she was joking about the dead rodents or if she was being serious about that factor. Perhaps a bit of both. Her expression hadn’t changed much as she continued to walk, her footsteps silent like a leaf on a tide, down and down the long corridors until she slowed down upon Sybil’s halt of movement. Her dark eyes regarded Sybil for a while, taking in the sight of her younger companion sulking and huffing and puffing at the earlier remarks they had heard before. Her lips seemed to quirk a little at this with a small light of affection flickering through her eyes before it disappeared behind a blink.
What she was planning to do… well, it was not all that entirely safe. Then again, when had they lived a safe life? Her, Sybil, Morgan, Remus - even William and Eliza. Each and every day for them was a gamble for their lives. Anything could happen at any time, anywhere. Besides, if she was going to go with what she was thinking of right now, she would not let them get hurt. Not when she was the one who had dragged them out of that room. No, if they were hurt, she wouldn’t know what to do with herself. Remus would… well, Remus would probably loathe her if she let anything happen to Sybil (she wouldn’t blame him she would too), and Eliza… she would probably be dealing with William Gansey’s wrath if anything were to happen to her, nor did she want the responsible young woman to be tangled into their affairs more than she had to. There was a small moment of hesitation that lingered in her head. Was this really the best idea to go for? It was reckless, and it was dangerous. Shaking her head internally to the side, she closed her eyes. If they were going to do something, they would have to do it without hesitation. The smallest bit of doubt could end up being the end of their lives.
She rested her fingers on her chin once more in a gesture that she was sure that most were quite familiar with whenever she seemed to think or remain amused, and eyed her two companions in front of herself. “I’m sorry if I’ve given any of you the wrong impression, but it was clear that they already had their minds set up.” Her lashes swept down when her gaze rested on the floor for a while, though her lips had the same hint of an enigmatic smile.
The Royal Guard was a threat, yes, but so were the other gangs who were sure to be targeting the same prize as the Ravens were. Adding onto the presence of the guards, if the Crestles were there and so were the Rockshires and the Purple Dragons… The outcome, she imagined, wouldn’t be pretty no matter what intelligent plan Remus crafted. She had a good certainty that his plan, which she could get a gist of regarding all that he had said, would work if there was no outside disturbance, but…
The inside of the palace wouldn’t be a place for the gangs to cause a commotion unless they were deliberately planning to kill the most well-acknowledged individuals of another gang and perish themselves, or if it happened outside, away from the eyes and ears of the Royal Guards.
“I have someone I can pull some information from regarding the movements of some of our other threats that will be there after Remus, Will, and Morgan.”
If the boys were determined to get the documents themselves, then they would act as a force to drive off the outside disturbances that would be there. Remus had said that he didn’t need to toss them back into a mission so fast. He had never said that they couldn’t toss themselves into one.
~
Morgan almost flinched when he felt Eliza’s hand ‘accidentally’ brush past him. His molten eyes had turned away, but he knew that she had given him a glance before moving on, one that had pierced through him. An apology sat at the tip of his tongue, though it refused to leave past his lips. Maybe once he’d returned from the mission, he’d ask for her forgiveness. Or… He brushed a few of his locks away from his puzzled eyes. Maybe it would be better if he didn’t do anything. He wasn’t the best when it came to dealing with women like Remus or Will, unless he was on a mission and acting. That was what he was good at, putting up a falsely kind face during missions in front of those he had to gain some information from or get a pass to a door of some kind that also let him slip past sticky situations. It came naturally to him when he in those missions or schemes, and yet, he found it so difficult to be ‘smooth’ with women when it came to a personal level. He turned his attention back to Remus, trying to shrug away the thoughts that he knew would not help. It dawned on him that he had spent a very long time with Remus, yet did not know everything about him. He hadn’t known that the man had some ties with the Royal Guard, the people who would surely murder them on sight if they were identified, or much of his family that he seemed to deliberately avoid.
“I understand,” he answered with a weak smile tugging at his lips, his pale hair almost glimmering white whenever the lights struck his locks. He could see the slight spark of nervousness in Remus’ blue eyes. No, he had seen it much before now, by the way how he’d been speaking with the girls and going so far to call them ‘frail.’ He was spooked, and Morgan couldn’t blame him for feeling so. He would do his best in this mission to keep it from falling apart to the best of his capabilities. If there was one thing that he was good at, he was good at wearing masks. Lots and lots of masks that could deceive and destroy or soothe and reassure.

[ Long hibernation, right through second semester please the days ] [Hm nah, I didn't have a crush on Zac Efron then, nor do I have one now. I thought he was a bit annoying but hey. I'm more Iwan Rheon and Kit Harrington kind of person. or the occasional fictional character ]
[ I should make one just consisting of names. Eh I'll just give him a new name and hopefully that one will stick the important stuff never seems to stay ] [ remusgottagetgoingbruh ]
Sybil raised an eyebrow at Lenore and grinned slightly at the mention of this contact for the other threats. AKA the Crestels, those rotten Rockshires who she would have to give a pleasant thank you gift for the knife in the side, and the Purple Dragons. Duh. But Lenore having contacts within the other groups even? Did everyone have that special someone that they could call up and be like Hey! I need some info and/or a favor! except for herself? Well then again, Sybil always got what she wanted through her fists. But anyway, she had a point. She had forgotten for a split second that Will, Remus and Morgan wouldn't be alone in this. They had the other groups to worry about so if she were Remus doing his thing, there were certain variables to take into account.
The three other groups would probably be sending in some fresh meat, those that didn't attend the brawl last month were probably the only fit ones to make it to this months job. From Sybil had heard, cause you know she had blacked out during most of it, the other groups had a lot of fun with the mutts Remus brought. Apparently it was just chaos, people running around, the pistols weren't working cause of the rain and the powder in the guns, and just....chaos. Glad to know she was too busy bleeding out in the mud to deal with that cause that sounded like a stressful event to take part in. Anyway, if they had to worry about any group she would have to say it would be the Rockshires. Considering Remus tried to shoot their new lieutenant as the signal for the mutts during the brawl, and that Sybil didn't die, plus Will was still breathing they were probably still sour. More then sour, all their stupid play boy pants were probably in a bunch. And if they were smart enough to somehow get a hitman into the La Selina then she was sure they would have something for this as well.
Second was the Purple Dragons. Actually probably more of a threat then the Rockshires considering how slimy and sneaky Lu tang can be. Lu Tang will probably be trying twice as hard this time around to get to the prize, even if that meant taking the whole gang to the Queen's gate, pistols blazing and swords drawn. The Crestels...Sybil wasn't worried. Honestly this kind of job isn't something the Crestels could do, they were more brash and violent people. Go on head first and cause as much noise as possible. This time around though there was no way they could do that, not with the risk of the British army coming down on them harder then a hail storm. "So...does that mean we're gonna be tagging along with the guys just not....officially tagging along." Sybil said, wondering if that was what this was about.
Ohhhh if it was, Sybil was ready. She was ready to roll out with pistols in the air while running around ( Eh not too fast maybe a light job ) screaming if she must. Sybil didn't care if Remus yelled at them afterwards about disobeying him, pff as if the man rarely yelled. But if it was going to be a job with just the three of them, then the men's job was nothing.
But how would Lenore use her little information hub and yet get them close enough to the palace to ensure that information was put to use. The palace was surrounded by guards, gates....the Queen wasn't known for having social events but...they could slip by as simple connections to the queen but that was such a weak string to pull. Not to mention if they were to run into the boys during the mission...that would break the rule of the game instantly. The paper said Only 3 and if the girls went and were figured out, that would automatically ruin the boys chances which she had no idea what the punishment would be for that. Probably not great. So they would have to keep their ids hidden from the other gangs and the boys. This is going to be some freaky Shadow Soldier crap she thought, knowing that in the past. The long, long past like before the gangs were as big as they were there was a thing called Shadow Soldiers which were basically members that were hidden in the crowds as normal people. Those that blended in like they were someone else, usually used for trailing people or for tracking shipments to different ship yards. The whole idea was ditched after a couple of years considering the whole I don't care fight me aura came into the mix.
But she would have to hear Lenore's plan before assuming anything freaky was gonna happen. For all she knew, they could go and do something about this right now to delay the others or whatever. Lenore was good at plans, almost as good as Remus which was pretty reassuring if Remus ever went crap stupid.

《 I can 100% see Sybil going to leave the dead fish/rats and walking in on Will and just having this awkward conversation about why she’s carry a dead animal and ahhh I have random thoughts lol Lol one time my friend and I decided to try and watch Twilight just for kicks and we got half an hour in and then quit because it was so brutal sorry twihards 》
In that moment, as he watched their three female companions make an exit, Will wasn't sure why men bothered to be afraid of silly things like heights and spiders and public execution. The one thing men should truly fear was women, for he was more than a little convinced the ladies were actually going off to plot their murder for Remus’s little comment rather than to figure out a way to keep the poker chips safe. His mind jumped, as it often did, to the works of Shakespeare - really, to one line in particular. Exit, pursued by a bear, he thought. Except he was pretty he might be the one that was going to be mauled. Sybil Rye was certainly as threatening as a bear, and he doubted she'd need much encouragement to rip Will to shreds.
He snapped his attention back to Remus as he realized he'd been talking, trying to figure out what he might have missed. Will might need double layers… Right, disguises. And they were to infiltrate the Royal Guard so he could only assume that meant they were disguising themselves as guards. Easy enough, he supposed. Yes, he was a little skinnier than the average guard, but it wasn't like he didn't have any muscle. Besides, it was surprising how many people stopped questioning him when he gave them a smile. It was almost frustrating how easily people saw what they wanted to believe. Maybe that was why he enjoyed teasing Sybil so, because she saw right through it. Or at least, he thought she might… Now wasn't the time to wonder.
Will nodded. “Of course I'd like in,” he answered. “And I can handle a distraction, I believe.” Perhaps he could use his un-guardly looks to their advantage. He could easily pass as a new recruit, not quite up on the protocols yet. There was nothing more that lieutenants enjoyed than whipping new recruits into form, right?
He eyed Remus, furrowing his brow. He did wonder about his so-called connections. A connection to the Royal Guard… And he'd never used it before? That kind of thing could be - no pun intended - game changing. And nearly impossible to come by. From the way Remus spoke of it - so reluctantly - Will figured it must be pretty personal. He'd leave it be, then; he wasn't so much of an arse as to press that kind of issue. He knew better than anyone what it was like to want to keep things buried.
---
Eliza laughed softly at Sybil’s comment, the answering smile on her face wry. Oh yes, that would be an amusing punishment. If only she had so much of a taste for revenge. She really didn't, momentary lapse of pettiness aside. Honestly, while she could hold a grudge, she wasn't much for doling out punishments - her own newfound distrust and displeasure of whatever individual in question was enough.
Speaking of which she knew she really should just speak with Morgan and… be honest about everything. She'd been telling herself that distancing herself alone would be what was fair but… he deserved to know that she wasn't angry with him. He'd done nothing but be kind to her, make her feel welcome - though, perhaps that was just it? She'd thought maybe he thought there was something more but… Maybe she was just being ridiculous. Morgan was nice to everyone. Oh, at this point she didn't even know.
After they'd walked down a sufficient amount of long hallways, the three of them came to a halt. Eliza listened to Lenore and Sybil, reflecting before she shared her own thoughts. She was pleased to find she'd been correct - the others still did intend to go on the mission, with or without Remus’s permission. Eliza smiled thoughtfully, regarding her companions. “If I'm understanding correctly, your idea is for us to be sentries? To stop any threats before they reach our men?” To prevent last time's scenario from occurring. This was exactly the kind of thing Eliza could handle. “The letter specified that we could only send three Ravens - Remus called us too fragile for such a mission; therefore , I suggest we become fragile.” She held up a hand, hoping they would wait to hear her out - particularly Sybil. “Let us appear as fragile society ladies - certainly not the kind to belong to a gang. That way we shall not be recognized by either the other gangs nor any of this mysterious ‘Game Master’s’ people.”

Lenore was good at listening, so that was exactly what she did. She remained where she was, allowing the young, responsible woman in front of her speak her own thoughts. She nodded her head in response with the same curve of her lips remaining when Eliza paused, and mentioned the word 'fragile' once more. She didn't think that Eliza would mention something that she had looked upset about, and even if she had said otherwise, Lenore still wouldn't have been... well, actively angry.
She had once been told by Morgan that people who usually never raised their voice, especially if they appeared to be meek or quite easygoing, tended to be more frightening when they were angered. That, in her mind, rung true. She remembered the one time Morgan had stood in front of her door with a rather guilty look on his face as he had rubbd the back of his neck. She'd listened to him and what had been bothering him. It turned out that he had raised his voice - not even out of anger - just the slightest bit at a younger Raven who had not been listening to the other Ravens who had told him to stop causing mischief around La Selina. He would even pull off more of his 'games' that could get the others hurt, and upon knowing this, Morgan had told him to stop quite sternly and that it would be his responsibility if someone was injured. Or if Remus found out about it. The very young individual had been startled by the firmness that had been in his molten eyes and his voice, and had apparently started to cry after a moment of shock.
"I... don't feel that great, but if he'd continued pulling those pranks off, someone would have been hurt," she could hear his soft voice in her head as his lips had tugged into a troubled and somewhat half-hearted smile. He'd looked truly bad as if even he had surprised himself - after all, the last time he'd ever reprimanded someone was much, much far back. The memory was at least five years old, Lenore thought. A long time had passed since her stay, though it would possibly seem short to the other Ravens.
She was worried for Morgan Seymour in that she knew that by letting others think, say, and do whatever they wanetd when it came to him, he held his tongue and accepted it. It was damaging for him internally, she knew that - she'd heard of how frustrating some of the people around him could be. They weren't intentionally trying to cause harm, she knew that much from the way how they just simply were, but it didn't change the fact that whatever they did whether it be snapping at him for the smallest thing or taking actions that they had roughly told him to never do or speaking the way they had told him to never speak, he was affected by it one way or another, even if he laughed it off almost all the time because he knew that they weren't meaning real harm, too.
His frustration was buried down inside of him, locked up, piling up slowly until he needed to recharge again and thus remained alone for a while with a book at hand. She'd seen him escape to the courtyard multiple times in the distance, sitting on one of the benches and reading withh is molten eyes concentrated on the words down on paper. While some people could have appeared to be lonely Morgan had looked so much more placid and relaxed than he had been when he'd been surrounded by people. Actually, he looked like he was from a portrait - calm, content, and endearing with his slightly furrowed eyebrows (probably reacting to what was written down on the pages) and curious gaze.
That was a negative aspect of hismelf that even he had admitted once to dislike, though he'd also told her that there was nothing he could do about it. A few years ago, she'd noticed that whenever a relationship with himself and someone else got too close, he would put a distance first. Like he was afraid that, while he enjoyed being alone, he was also frightened of the thought of people leaving him. The more and more they were closer to him, the more and more he would find it harder to cope with. All of that -- all of his fears and his personality... it seemed, to her, that it had come from whatever dark hole he had been engulfed in before he'd approached the Ravens.
In any case, she slowly nodded her head at Eliza's words. "Yes... that doesn't sound bad at all." She lightly crossed her arms over her chest, not to close them off like most people seemed to think but because... well, because it was comfortable. "But first, we need to know where the other gangs will be during the scene." Her eyes narrowed a little in thought. "I can arrange a meeting with that contact today night, actually. Send him a letter beforehand to gather up as much information as he can." Her dark eyes flickered over to her two companions. "We can decide where to be in our own disguises after we're a little more well informed."

Fragile....society ladies?
Eliza wanted them to dress like...those girls who go to those high end tea parties or gossip and...wear dresses and makeup? Sybil shifted slightly at the idea, thinking that Lady Rebecca's party was going to be the last time she wore a dress of sorts anywhere. It's not like she hated the idea, no she thought it was a very smart idea to walk in as fragile human beings but...she was a tad bit uncomfortable with the thought of going in wearing a dress again. Having to wear makeup and just...be a girl. Her father use to treat her like a girl, when he was still alive and wedged under Dante's thumb. He wouldn't let her gamble but she was allowed to watch, she wasn't allowed in the basement but instead he took her to the garden so she could run around or play pretend. He told her all the stuff her mother would have wanted to tell her, and let her older brother Oliver take her somewhere fancy when something bad was happening. He did everything in his power to keep her fragile because with the lack of her mother there was no other womanly figure to do that.
Of course she was fragile for a time being, she cried when she was hurt and she cried when she was sad. She cried a lot then, and Oliver would always have to take her to the garden or to her room to figure out what was wrong before anyone else heard it. If Sybil had a bad dream she would go to her fathers room and sleep with him for the remainder of the night. She skipped around, played with anyone who would play with her, and read a lot. To think, if her father hadn't been dragged into the Black Ravens Sybil might actually have been one of those gossiping girls waving a fan about when it wasn't even hot. If her mother hadn't gotten sick, she would have taught Sybil how to sit up straight at the dinning table and cook and clean. Her father and brother would have been out working more, things would have been normal. Things would have been...normal. She wouldn't have met Remus, she wouldn't have met Benny or Harold, Noah, Penny, Edward, Danny, or Cassidy. She wouldn't have known how to defend herself, wouldn't have become a fighter. She wouldn't have met Lenore or Morgan, or Eliza and...Will. If Sybil had the chance to change anything...to take all the bad from her life in order to keep her family...she probably wouldn't be happy. Her mother died of sickness, Her father killed by Rockshires and her brother left her. That was that.
Life got rough really fast...so Sybil had to stop playing pretend and actually grow a back bone.
Sybil cut off all her hair when her father died, it was choppy and so messy Benny had to help straighten it out. She looked like a young boy at that point, and learned how to do things the rest of the boys were doing. She gambled, she spat, she cursed and she fought. She fired a gun, she carried a dagger with her from then on and basically tossed her fragile self out the window where it would vanish just like her brother did. But now she was required to drag that out again? To be polite and crusty and all that crap. Yikes, she didn't even want to think about what rich, snuffy women do these days. Gossip and giggle about the stupidest of things, money, other women, men. God, that's all women talk about is which man is the best to court and then marry. Sybil had no chance in the marrying department so there was no point in the courting bit. "So we sneak in as classy tea party ladies, sounds good enough...but what are we going to do until your little mouse squeaks?" Sybil asked, finally tuning back into the conversation that she somewhat zoned out of to think of all the horrors of perfumes and lady things. Gosh, they don't wear pants under evening dresses do they? The horror....
"Cause if it will take a while then I suggest we start leaving dead rats in the boys rooms" Sybil said, shaking off the idea that she would be hog tied back into a corset...oh god she maybe just die if she puts another one of those on...and instead focusing on making the boys night really rat-tastic. And if she ever got a hold of a fish, then she would leave it in their rooms as well. She didn't care if Morgan and Will didn't say anything either. In fact Morgan agreed she was too short, and Will....well Will was Will, he deserves a dead rat no matter what. "And if there is nothing else to talk about, then I need to start killing rodents..." Sybil muttered, pushing herself off the wall she's been leaning on to begin walking toward the basement doors leading down to the fighting rings below. "If you guys want to help you can, it's really easy all you gotta do is just corner the suckers" She said over her shoulder. Maybe this could even be a girl bonding time, killing rats to leave in the boys beds. God that is messed up.
-
Remus nodded, glad that they understand what was happening. "Good. Good." He said, letting that calming smile he usually wore come to his face like everything was fine when really, he had a lot to worry about and was masking it through false hopes and dreams ( Depressing but it worked ) "I will send a Raven to your rooms with the uniforms, put them on at once. They will feel tight but that's normal. Get use to them, run around in them if you want I don't care. Try not to run around in them while the night's going on though. You will be shot point blank probably...well more so Will then Morgan" Remus said, thinking about how the crowd would react and most important how certain Ravens would react. Some Ravens have...very bad history with the army and the Royal Guard itself. Noah had gotten tangled with them some years ago, and Jenny at one point was courting one...until he got killed. Some Ravens were put in jail because of those guards so...seeing someone run around in a uniform of the guard would be...dangerous to say the least. Especially Will, not all of the Ravens know his face to memory yet.
Remus bid them both goodbye for now, for he had a letter to write. He did however catch a flash of blonde making her way toward the basement...he won't question why. Living in the shadows was sometimes blissful.
The red head entered his office with the familiar sense of dread coming back over him. He didn't want to write this letter it made him feel...oh what's that feeling good people get when they do something bad? Guilty? Yes that's it. He felt guilty for using this name in order to sneak into the palace...even after he swore he would never utter it again so long as they would forget he ever existed. He sat at his desk, pen in hand over the paper as he began to write. Captain Hawkins...he almost flinched at the name, his brother wasn't exactly important to the Royal Guard but he was high enough to where he had some power. Hadrian Hawkins, named after a Roman emperor like the other boys in the family. His father as addicted to the history of Rome and named basically all his children...after someone related to Rome. Remus was going to be Romulus but that name is much too odd even for this era. Hadrian was the oldest of a group of 5 children ( His father and mother like big families it's in the blood. ) Now his family wasn't bad, no in fact he had a wonderful childhood growing up. His father was a teacher, taught history ( Shocker ).
His mother was healthy and kind, his father didn't beat anyone or raised his voice too much. Barely took a sip of whisky nor did he cheat on his mother. His father made sure his children had the best tutors and went to school...took them out as often as his schedule would allow. So why Remus decided to be in the world of gangs when he had a peachy life? He just...enjoyed it. His family had a history of being in the army mind you, the only reason his father wasn't in it at the time was because he had gotten an injury in his left leg which caused a limp. But his grandfather was in the army, and his great-grandfather probably was too. So it was expected of the other Hawkins to enroll and be in whatever position they could. Hadrian was a good two shoes and loved sucking up to father so he enrolled without a second glance. The twins weren't old enough then to talk but he was sure they would follow. Remus...had planned on. He had a goal, to make it to the Royal Guard as Lieutenant but...after running into a certain group - long since 'extinct' you might say - he enjoyed the thrill of the gang life instead. He loved the danger, the drug that was gambling and taking risks. He left with another goal in mind then, to get into the gang life and just live life as it came.
He still sent birthday cards to the twins, to little Mary-Anne who will be 5 this year...but he was sure that his father ripped them up so no one would see them. Remus didn't even realize that he had stopped writing at that point and instead felt something wet slid down his cheek. He shook his head and rubbed at his face in disgust. "Bloody hell...." He grumbled, finishing off the letter before he had a chance to think more about his sappy childhood. The stress was really getting to him if he was getting emotional over a family he long since ditched.
