So this is the.... fourth, time I've tried this idea, each slightly differently than the last. But I think this version will be a fun one.
The idea of The Descendants roleplay is that it takes place after the final fall of the original four or five Clans (in some versions, SkyClan rejoined them.... in others, it didn't). The Clans had had to change territories several times in order to survive, but eventually even though couldn't overcome a challenge, and so they broke down and the few survivors left. A few generations after this, however, the shattered and half-faded remnants of StarClan begin to visit the descendants of the last Clan cats in their dreams, telling them to travel to a certain place to bring together the other descendants and rebuild the Clans. I've started the roleplay in different places.... once, with the start of the dreams, once at the inception of the Clans, once several generations afterwards, and once many generations after. This one, I think, will begin with the dreams.
This, however, is not intended to be an open-for-all roleplay. I'm thinking a smaller group of literate and active members, and I'm also thinking that the roleplay should be done mostly through group PM to keep it private. The roleplay will also be very fast-paced time-wise, as part of the idea of this rp is to see how the Clans change over time and generations once they're formed. Normally, I go with 1 week rl = 1 moon in game, but this time I'm thinking more 1 week = 1 season (3 moons). That means every month is a year, and a cat in the roleplay would live out their full lives in six months of roleplay. It's a roleplay where individual character development and overall story progression are balanced, and always at odds with time.....
The idea for this, as I said, is to see how the Clans would change over time. Initially, it would be only individual descendants traveling to the place StarClan is leading them.... perhaps in pairs or small groups, perhaps alone. They would meet up, explore the territory, and set up their new Clans. Perhaps each Clan will be like a mirror image of one of the ancient Clans, or perhaps each descendant will have their own idea of what a Clan should be, and a whole new concept will be born of it. Maybe they'll form one Clan for each of the ancients, or perhaps there will only be two, or perhaps more than the original four. It all remains to be seen.
The Clans would have to be built from the ground up as well. Of course, they would have the guidance of StarClan, but the StarClan cats would be few, weak, and faded, and so the Clans would have to mostly piece together their knowledge of Clan life from what their parents told them about their ancestors. The warrior code would begin as a chaotic and incomplete mess, and over the course of the roleplay, each generation would refine it until it's something like the honorable code we know today. Their ceremonies and rituals may end up being different than the original Clans through misinterpretation or necessity, but over time, they'll make those work too. Essentially, we're building an entire unique Clan culture over time, from scratch. Perhaps eventually we'll get to a point where we want to make public Clans of what we have, slow down the time period, and have a more traditional roleplay. Or perhaps not.
I'm looking for very literate roleplayers who are capable of carrying on a story and coming up with interesting plots and characters. You will also need to be active, probably being on at least once daily, or for much of the day 4-5 days out of the week. You should be capable of playing multiple characters simultaneously, and ideally of both genders and varying personalities. And, you need to be willing to let those characters die when it's their time- because after all, this roleplay will be all about the passage of time and the progression of the generations.
So, who's interested?
