Maplekit huffed softly, "That's what Hawkkit keeps saying..." She mumbled, referring to Hawkfur of course. "Paws staying on ground easier..."
Redpetal laughed softly, "It was definitely unexpected. I think the other clans were laughing at us when an elder took the role of leader."

Hawkfury snorted.
"Well, the advice is used so much because it works!" He exclaimed before snickering.
"Chin up. I can't understand mumble."
Sandrose purred.
"Oh, but surely they knew Scarfur was no ordinary elder. When Cherrydapple took me training, I'd see Scarstar and Hawkfury. It seemed like she really knew how to give and recieve respect. I always admired her."

Maplekit rolled her eyes, "I think you stole those words from Hawkkit." She meowed, taunting him. She died long before Hawkfury was born, but even still, it was obvious who her friends had been as a kit.
Redpetal purred softly, "Scarstar knew many late leaders," She meowed, before looking towards the old leader and her mate, "However, I think a lot of it had to do with that accident that gave her those scars and her name."

"Well!" Hawkfury scowled, only to grumble faintly and relax.
"I was around him alot. But I don't steal! I was named after him though. Family friend sort of thing." He shrugged.
Sandrose gave a hum of sympathy.
"She made the best of the worst situations. It's something like that we can all strive for. Besides, the clans respected a strong cat with a strong name."

Maplekit giggled softly, "Why you jump to being defensive?" She asked, tilting her head to look up at the larger tom.
"But not a cat with a weak appearance." Redpetal reminded Sandrose, looking back over at the former Queen, "Everyone in the clan knew, one blow to the right place, and she would have been in Starclan much sooner."

Hawkfury snorted.
"Because I don't take kindly to accusations little furball." He gave a smirk, flicking Maplekit's nose with his tail.
Sandrose lifted a paw to stifle a chuckle.
"That's the thing. They knew she had weak spots, but still nobody was ever able to bring her to Starclan. Such a long life. She knew how to keep on going." She purred.

"Ah. Not all of them. Scarstar mentored a tunnler." Hawkfury snorted.
"The oaf couldn't decide which position he wanted. So Scarstar learned more about tunnling with him." He spoke.
Sandrose sighed.
"I remember the days I swore to everyone I'd be Sandstar." She giggled.

"I was surprised how well Scarstar did with Blacktail. But, noble cats train noble apprentices. Most of the time." Hawkfury cackled.
Sandrose sighed fondly.
"I always said Hawkfury would be my deputy, but there were times when I wanted you to be, or Eagleheart. Duskwhisper!...you all mean so much to me." She admitted.

"Really now? He was so dependable though. And kind. Even without words, I knew he was sweet." Sandrose giggled.

Maplekit shook her head, "Trouble kit."
"Yeah, but imagine if you had gotten sick before a gathering. How would Duskwhisper speak to the clans? You'd have better luck just making Eagleheart deputy." Redpetal pointed out.

"Hmph. You're the only kit here between us." Hawkfury lifted a brow and prodded Maplekit gently.
Sandrose snorted.
"That is true. And Eagleheart certainly would have been strong and optimistic...but perhaps Flamefur would have been our best choice. She was the oldest of the group of us, after all." She purred.

Maplekit shook her head and gestured to Owlkit, who had fallen asleep against an already sleeping Eagleheart. "Owlkit still kit too!" She meowed in defiance, then huffed softly, "You younger than me!"
Redpetal snickered softly, "Windclan would have certainly been different."

"It's different now..." Sandrose admitted. She swallowed.
"I am anxious that something will break this tension I feel." She looked at her friend.

"As every cat hopes to." Hawkfury mewed right back at her, giving a sudden chuckle before quickly lifting Maplekit by the scruff and holding her above the ground.
Sandrose gave a heavy sigh, before she smiled lightly.
"Well, at least we have eachother again." She purred thankfully.

Maplekit squeaked as she suddenly found her paws off the ground, her eyes wide as she tried to wiggle free, "Hey! No Fair!"
"That we do, and then some." Redpetal purred as well, glancing over at the other Windclan cats.

"Hmph. Leave the poor kit be, won't you?" Boulderfoot approached Hawkfury with a mischevious gleam in his eyes. Hawkfury put the kit down and snorted to his daughters mate.
"Maplekit wants to act tough, so I'm showing her tough."
"Is Hawkfury being a big mean furball?" Boulderfoot asked the kit.
Sandrose purred as she watched her clanmates around her. She mewed.
"I wonder if any other of the clans cats will come around here."

Maplekit looked between the two toms before she scrambled over to Boulderfoot and between his paws. "He is!" She squeaked.
"I think most of them are scared of our strange group, or Scarstar's perpetual glare is keeping them at bay." Redpetal purred softly.
"Or they have their own clans to share tongues with." a soft brown she-cat meowed, her amber eyes gleaming as she saw the windclan cats together. The former Skyclan deputy and queen, Sweetmoss looked at the two Queens before she sat down and wrapped her tail around her paws.

Hawkfury rolled his eyes as Boulderfoot shook his head.
"It's alright Maplekit. Hawkfury's a big grump. But he's a good cat, and he just wants you to be strong." The large tunnler teased.
Sandrose glanced at Sweetmoss, purring.
"Greetings, Sweetmoss. Things faring well with the other Skyclan cats?"

Maplekit looked up at Boulderfoot and giggled softly, "Not strong if not tunneler!" (Maplekit is a harsh audience XD)
"As well as well can be I suppose." Sweetmoss meowed lightly, twisting around to clean her fur. "There are many more of us here than I would have liked." She sighed, thinking about the Adderclan incident, and how many of her clanmates had joined Starclan and the Dark Forest in recent moons.
Redpetal purred gently, "At least Lavendersky is doing well, her second life has been very gracious to her."

"I know, right? Tunnling is the best!" Boulderfoot cheered to Maplekit. He smirked at Hawkfury, who snapped.
"I'm a cat, not a mole! I don't tunnel."
Sandrose nodded in agreement.
"Skyclan deserves peace, as all the clans do. Skyclan has strong leadership now too. Far more honorable than Robinstar." She scowled.

Maplekit grinned happily, "Cats tunnel too, obviously!" She said happily.
Sweetmoss sighed softly, "The leader has lost much for being so young. She would have done well to remain a medicine cat if the prophecy hadn't of deemed her the new leader."
Redpetal rolled her eyes, "Has Lavendersky found an apprentice yet?"
Sweetmoss purred softly, "Ah yes, the son of Nightsky and Whitesand, little Spiderkit."

Hawkfury gave a scowl as Boulderfoot cheered.
"That's right. Cats that tunnel are special because we're not scardeyyyy cats!" He taunted, to which Hawkfury gave a huff of deep warning.
Sandrose perked in interest.
"I'm happy to hear it! Clans with multiple medicine cats are always better off."

Maplekit purred happily, about to say something before Hawkfur padded over and picked the kit up by the scruff, "Alright, time to stop tormenting the moor-runner and to go to sleep with the rest of the kits." He rumbled around her scruff, glancing at Hawkfury sympathetically before padding away and setting her down, shooing her off to join a group of kits from windclan who were all napping together, including Owlkit.
Redpetal nodded slightly, "It was rather rare for Windclan to have two medicine cats named, they always seemed to die so young..."
Sweetmoss sighed softly, "Some just do not have the tolerance to be in the medicine den I suppose."

Hawkfury gave a snort but also soon gave a light grin. He suddenly missed his own kits, even though they were now rather older in the clan.
Sandrose nodded.
"Brownfur and Silverjay didn't last long, nor did Berrywatcher. I felt so sad seeing them all come here..."

Hawkfur sighed softly and shook his head as he looked at Maplekit slink over to the other kits and plop down in annoyance of being removed from her fun. He padded over to Hawkfury and purred softly, "I'm sorry about her, she's quite a pawful." He meowed, glancing back towards her, "I've ended up taking on a father role to my kithood friend."
Redpetal sighed softly, "It's a wonder why Windclan has so many problems with medicine cats."
Sweetmoss shrugged lightly, "Skyclan isn't much better. Starclan had to pull Eaglecry into the medicine den from the warrior's den."

"Ah, I've dealt with worse. Windclan always has quite rowdy kits." Hawkfury looked at Hawkfur with a light nod. He snickered.
"Well, somebody has to take up the role. You do it well."
Sandrose nodded in agreement.
"Perhaps Starclan are just trying to find the perfect fit for the role. Alot of the current medicine cats and those in the past switched from warrior training to medicine training."
