Fireblaze smiled slightly as Lightpaw padded over to her. “Good morning Lightpaw, glad to see you’re up and ready for training.” She mewed before turning to the camp entrance. “Why don’t we go try and catch some prey? We can work on our team hunting.”

Sandfall led Moonpaw out into the territory, sighing as the air was free from the usual rabbit scent and rather filled with ash and smoke. He turned towards highstones hoping they could find something closer to where the fire had not reached. "Now Moonpaw, tell me what you know about hunting rabbits."

Swiftstar dipped his head to the two queens and exited the nursery. Spotting Fallowmeadow he padded over to her. “Frostpetal and Soulspirit both had their kits” he said, settling down next to her. “Six new kits in the nursery, it’s a miracle no one’s been trampled to death.” Fallowmeadow purred "All healthy I suppose? Perhaps a nursery expansion is in order." she mewed, licking her mate's cheek. "I'm sure you or Blacktail could get a few volunteers to work on that over the next moon, before those little paws turn into bigger paws." |

((Sorry I was gone! Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone  )) Swiftstar nodded. "Especially since we're already rebuilding." He said "Though I think Breezekit and Cloudkit are just about ready for their apprenticeships" He gave his mate a knowing look. "Our grandkits are about to be apprentices and I have never felt older." Fireblaze padded out across the moor "Tell me what you know about hunting in pairs." She said to Lightpaw. |

Sandfall nodded "Well yes, can you tell me how we do that?" he asked calmly. "It's okay if you don't know."
Fallowmeadow bumped her head on his shoulder lightly "You feel old? I was a warrior long before you, I'm the old one." The she-cat let out a sigh, "I do feel old though, especially with all these kits and apprentices around. Their boundless energy it's enviable."

Swiftstar purred and nuzzled his mate affectionately. "You will never be old to me my love." He said with a deep purr. It was true, he rarely saw Fallowmeadow as his elder, despite their age difference. "Who knows, perhaps we will have more kits of our own one day."
Fireblaze stopped and tapped her tail on the ground. "Even though we are the fastest clan in the forest, rabbits can still outrun us fairly easily. We hunt in pairs because it makes it easier for us to catch more prey. One warrior, sometimes a tunneler, sometimes a moor runner, will chase a rabbit out from where it is hiding and towards their partner. The partner will then chase and kill the rabbit."

Sandfall nodded approvingly "Better. Now let's keep going and hopefully we'll find a stray rabbit." he mewed a flicker of doubt present in his voice.
Fallowmeadow flicked her ears in surprise, letting out a purr. "You want to have more kits? This is probably not a good time with the territory so empty of prey though. Especially with all the kits already in the nursery."

Swiftstar shrugged, feeling heat rise to his pelt. "If you don't want more kits e don't have to have them." He said sheepishly. "It was just a thought...and you're right, the nursery is pretty crowded." He gave his chest fur a quick lick.

Fallowmeadow quickly shook her head, "That isn't what I meant, I would love to have more kits. I just don't think now is the right time." she mewed, leaning against him with a sigh. "We lost Cloverleaf to the fire, I can't imagine losing any kits because we can't feed them."

Swiftstar nodded. "I know" He said, leaning back against her. "This leaf-bare will be tough....perhaps I should authorize our patrols to hunt at high stones sooner rather than later." It didn't feel right to claim that ground for hunting. Often other clans would stop to hunt after their long journey to high stones from their territories...but ShadowClan already claimed Fourtrees, perhaps they shouldn't wait until it was a last resort.

Swiftstar nodded. "I don't suppose any other clans will be making too many trips out there either." He said. ShadowClan was the only other real contender, but it seemed they were uninterested. "Though I think we shouldn't hunt there too close to the medicine cat gathering. I suppose I can talk to Eclipsesky about it, but the medicine cats might hunt there, especially the ones who have such a long journey."

Fallowmeadow glanced towards the medicine cat den, "He's probably exhausted from all the wounds he's been treating, and all these kits. I hope he and Dawnshadow get to rest soon." she said sympathetically. "He'll probably just tell the patrols to keep their eyes out for medicine cats and to respect them if they come in contact with them. I don't think anyone in the clan would dare defy him." she mewed with a snort. "That little tom will claw their ears if they do."
