So I had this idea a while ago of a world hundred of years into the future.
One out of, say, half-million people have been blessed with some sort of power. Most are weak - maybe they can create a breeze, or fill a glass with water. However, there are maybe nine or ten people who are born with extreme power - out of the entire worlds population. My character, Killian Belle-Rose, has the ability to create flawless glass of any color and shape out of nothing at all. She becomes a monopolist at a very young age - late teens, early twenties - in the home-building and home-decor business. She can construct home from indestructible glass within hours, beautiful detail no wood or stone home could have just by bending her will.
Your character can be another "Mage," a wealthy businessman with a snobby attitude and just wanting a trophy wife. When he hears about Killian (known by Ki-Ki by friends, pronounced Key-key), he immediately knows he must have her on his arm. He won't anticipate her burning desire to be her own person, rarely flaunting her abilities or wealth with parties or social events, prefering her quiet library room. He will attempt to win her over again and again to no avail, even with both of their families pushing for a marriage. However, they somehow, somehow, become decent friends, his snottiness towards her turning into more of an inside joke, no longer acting as if he owned her. He eventually starts growing actual feelings for her, and must take steps to win her hand...
I know it's super cliche and all, but i need some cheesiness in my life.
So.
