(Well lookie here, it seems that I have a brand-spanking-new male character here to test out! And my my, he does indeed seem to be the medieval type.... Well, my friend, you called for a partner, and I answered the call. *Flourishing bow* Now, how may I be of service?)

Here's an idea!
What about the whole good girl/bad guy thing.... with a twist. Ya see, my friend, this guy i have up my sleeve is a bit of an icicle, so this outta work out fiiiiine.
Your lass can be from a rich fam, be it royalty or whatever. My lad can be a thief - an exceptionally excellent thief. Think like Beyoncé famous - but as a bad guy, y'know? Alright, well, your girl runs into my guy, be it on the streets or in a shop or whatever, and has a sudden bond with him. She seeks him out everywhere, and loves to cling onto him and blah blah blah her parents hate it etc etc. My guy is extremely blunt and cold, but he seems to have grown a soft spot for your lass, like some sort of humanoid pet of sorts - which will evolve into a romantic feeling until, GASP, he robs her home (without knowing it's her home) and he finds out it was him. She's heart broken, isolating herself, even as see found all the stuff returned and notes from a messenger raven from him every day. We can move on from there? )

.Hehehehe... if Xane will tolerate it. Oooh, perhaps a little away from a thieves camp? That would work best. Anyways, whatever you decide! Who would you like to start? :) )

(Same here- but heads up, my starters are long.)
Xane was by all means a social butterfly. And by social butterfly, I mean he flew away from people as fast as he could. It wasn't hard to see why either - he was different. Physically, not that different or unusual. With straight, messy hair he never bothered to cut, it went to his shoulders and a fair amount fell into his face, which he never seemed to mind. His skin was a warm caramel, his hands rough and calloused from living outside his entire life, nothing just handed to him. Pale, raised scars decorated his arms like battle wounds, traveling to his chest and back.
So, physicically, no - Xane was not, in fact, that different from modern society. However, his presence was too... surreal to be normal. He carried himself with angelic grace, but it was a heavy, heavy sense - danger radiated off him, the coldness in his eyes scared many people away as she simply plotted down packed-dirt streets, entering shops was worse. Moving with the agility and silence of a crawling tiger, his appearance did nothing to convert the danger and apathy running under his skin.
Today, he had come across his camp once more - the thieves the grew with, learned to sneak and steal with. With his darkness, he was soon the most respected by the camp - and the most feared by society. "The Raven," People would whisper on the streets when the richest family was stolen from, "The Raven was here. He will come again." No one knew that Xane himself was this thief, able to move himselves with shadows until he was invisible in the night.
He sat on a low branch of a large oak tree, using his knife to whittle away at a small piece of wood. Tiny flakes of light material rained down as he quickly worked, fixing the small piece into his desired shape. His tall stature, at six foot three, was slouched in the shadows, his black clothing helping him blend. He was about to make another notch into the wood - slowly taking the shape of a horse - when he heard something none of the others did - a twig snap, a few leaves rustle. He saw the person too - a female. She stopped right under his hiding spot, which was many, many yards from the camp. He moved quickly but silently, uncurling from the branch and lowering himself down, dropping to the ground with a practiced grace behind her. He stood, still silent, before saying in his husky voice, ice cold; "This is no place for you."

In Character --- A place to sit and think was all Alice needed. Just someplace quiet. Despite having large home and plenty of rooms to work in, Alice could never find peace. The outdoors suited her best. She loved the way the wind blew her dark brown hair around. That is, if it's blowing her hair behind her. She hated it when the wind blew the hair in her face. Especially since she tried to pay special attention to it. Maybe not her per say, but her nurse. Ms. Hayes was her name. She was closer to a mother than Alice ever had. Most likely because Alice's mother was always off at social gatherings of sorts or visiting her other wealthy relatives. Without Alice. She normally felt left behind in those things. Although, she was never sure why her parents did that. Her father was a little better, but not much. He still went to the same social gatherings, however, he tried to make time for his daughter. It was always something Alice appreciated. She has always wanted to feel...well...wanted or needed. Not in the Laurence Nightingale Effect kind of way, but she has always wanted to have a some sort of worth to someone, and to feel like she really does. Not have someone just say she means something to them. There was no happiness in that, nor relief.
Her warm green eyes carefully studied her surroundings. She was told to keep a lookout in this part of the woods for danger by Ms. Hayes. However, she seemed to think she was safe enough. Alice had not seen anyone out here yet, and somewhat hoped it would stay that way. Being kidnapped was no where near her 'to do' list. In fact it was on her 'what not to do' list, the one she kept in her mind.
Alice had not heard anyone behind her, in front of her, or around her, so when a voice whispered in her ear she nearly jumped out of her blue gown. Alice turned around to face the man after she felt herself make a small bit of space between them. "Is this...uh...someone's land?" She asked in a very timid voice. She hoped that was the case, so she could go along her merry way elsewhere. But something inside of her told her otherwise. And she feared what more it had to say.

Xane slowly lifted his hands, dropping the knife he was holding. His expressoin was as blank and cold as ever, his mint-green eyes flakes of apathy. "Calm yourself, lassy. No one is going to hurt you here." His work, while true, were probably nto comforting in the least, as he said them with a dead voice. "You've got yourself into some trouble here, you have," Xane continued in his deep husk of a voice, lowering his hands back to his side. "You got yourself in the theives forest, lass. I would not-"
"Oi, Xane! Whatcha got there, dub?" Came a thick, unpleasant drawl. Immediately, Xane had an arm around Alice's waist, pushing her behind him protectively. "A lost citizen," was Xane snap of a reply, colder than winter itself. His presence weighed the conversation in his favor as his mint eyes chipped straight to this mans soul. The older thief scowled, showing a missing tooth or three. "So be it." He drawled, backing towards the camp once more.
"Follow," Xane said to Alice flatly, taking her upper arm with a shocking gentleness to compete his harsh presence and tone of voice and leading her away from the camp. "What family are you from, lassy?" He asked sharply, his pale eyes darting towards her. He released her arm, only to set his large hand on her upper back modestly, protectively. "I will take you home. You mustn't return to this forest."

In Character --- Alice felt her blood run cold when she heard something fall to the ground. She darted her eyes to it for a moment, and nearly felt the color in her cheeks leave. Was he planning to kill her? That was what she thought anyway until he told her no one would harm her. She wasn't sure whether or not to trust him, but she didn't have an option as she didn't have a weapon or know how to use one anyway. Her green eyes were wide and gave way to the fear she felt inside of herself. She wasn't very good at masking her emotions. Which became evident when she wanted to yelp in a mix of surprise and fear when he grabbed her arm. At first anyway, but when she realized how gentle this man, who Alice learned to be Xane, was.
Alice followed him without question and had very stiff movements out of paralyzing fear. When she felt Xane's back on her hand she straightened up more so his hand was just barely touching her. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any trouble if I did. I didn't know about this forest..." she stuttered and let her voice trail off. Alice didn't want to bug him with her rambling. She has probably caused enough trouble for him as it is now that he has to take her home.
"I'm the only daughter of the Friesenhahn family." She would have said his name, but didn't think it was appropriate at the time. Not only because he was (or seemingly) dangerous, but because she didn't really know him. He seemed to be a nice man for a thief though. Which was odd. Weren't thieves supposed to be greedy, sneaky, deceptive men? Then again, she didn't know him enough to say he wasn't any of those things. He could be trying to take her home as a ransom of sorts to prove eyes has their daughter to get whatever he wanted.

"You caused no trouble, Lass," Xane said, his eyes cutting towards her. Seeing her fear, he removed his hand from her back. "You have no reason to fear me. I threaten no harm," his voice was flat, but bluntly honest - decievingly apathetic. "This is one part of the thieves forest," he explained in his icy voice, "I will show you how to see the marks of ownership when we reach the boundary." He gave no reply to her name, simply walked besides her at a pace she could keep with. Even if he knew every tree like the back of his hand, and could probably manage his way blindfolded and walking backwards, he kept an even pace.
Xane arm suddenly dashed out, taking a hold of her waist with the same blindsighting gentleness, and pulled her towards him to avoid stepping into a small hole, sure to twist an ankle. "If you see a patch of leaves thicker than the rest, but no higher, do not step in it," He said, releasing her waist after a moment, making sure she was steady. He continued to weave around trees by her side, guiding her with small tugs or gentle pushes to avoid any injuries. Not much time had passed before he stopped at the edge of the forest, a surpringly sharp change from trees to shops. He turned her by the shoulder to face the nearest tree, and set his hand on the bark. "Look close. There is a small circle of bark missing, about the size of my palm. That is the boundary of the thieves forest."
Having shown her how to determine safety from thieves land, Xane continued to guide Alice towards her own land. He stopped at the edge of the territory, turning towards her with his blank, icy expression. "Be wary of the forestry," he said flatly, almost in monotone. "Most thieves are much more violent and sadistic than myself. Watch your back, lassy." And with that, Xane turned to leave.

In Character --- As Alice and Xane walked through the woods, she made sure to keep track of which pile of leaves was a trap and which were not. She did not mind it as much when Xane moved her away from danger. Which I another thing she found peculiar. A thief protecting someone of her status from traps? He must want something. Or maybe he was forced to live in these woods. Perhaps his parents were thieves as well and expected him to be as much. She has heard that children tend to stay on the same level as their parents.
Her mental notes changed from 'to do' to 'always remember' as Xane pointed things out to her like the tree markings. Though, she will most likely never go back into that forest again. It made her scared enough as it is, there wasn't any need to go back and worry herself. Those men must be barbarians and drunkards who made their fortune through ill gotten gains. That was obviously a crowd to avoid
When he had returned her to the edge of the wood and started to leave her, Alice felt the need to say something. Although she wasn't exactly sure why. He was a criminal after all. But she spoke anyway. "Wait!" She held out a hand to stop him in his tracks, but quickly put her hand back and lowered her voice, "I...uh, want to thank you for helping me. Why did you though?" She tilted her head to a side a bit. Alice's brow furrowed in confusion and her eyes glittered with curiosity that seemed to match that of a child's. Though, she was often compared to a child. Mainly because of her facial features like her small mouth, cute nose, and smooth, heart shaped face.

Xane stopped in his tracks, silent for a moment before turning back towards the high-class girl, eyes as blank as ever. He said nothing at first, pondering her question. "Not all thieves are monsters, like not all royalty is good," was what he replied with, carefully chosen words that fell like ice from his lips. "Not all who live in forests are criminals - not all those who live in palaces and large homes are the good-hearted.'
He gave a slight bow, a sign of respect. As he rose from the bow, Xane locked eyes with ALice, his apathetic eyes showing a glimmer of - was that amusement? "As for gratitude, you have no need to thank me. I was doing as any well-meaning fellow would do." He turned once more, heading back into the forest with his graceful, dangerous way of moving. "Perhaps I will see you in the town center, at some point in the future," He said flatly, and then he was gone. Simply vanished into the tree line, as if he was never there.

(Perhaps in town? Alice sees Xane enter a tavern, looses sight once she follows, she gets in trouble, she is saved by him again just to strengthen her bond with him?)
