About This Roleplay
This is a roleplay of the original four Clans, ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan. This roleplay occurs many generations after the last series, at the lake territories. For now, there's not really any particular plot, but I'm sure eventually there will be.
This is a claim-a-cat roleplay, so you will have to claim one of the cats that is already present. Each cat has a brief description, age, gender, and kin. When you claim your cat, you may add a personality and give more detail to their appearance, though you may not change or contradict anything that has already been written. The downside, obviously, is you will not have entirely personal characters, but the upside is that your cat will fit smoothly into the world with kin and backstory.
Another thing about this roleplay is that there will be consistent time progression. Each real-life week will equal one moon in the roleplay, and your cat will age accordingly. Therefore, cats will grow up, grow old, and eventually die. This will keep the roleplay from lingering too long one particular time period and force things to always be changing and progressing. Seasons will change, cats will age and be born and die, plots will progress. Every Wednesday will be a Gathering, and every Friday will be a medicine cat meeting. Seasons will last three moons (weeks), and will be marked by "early," "mid," or "late" [season].
When kits are born, they are also randomized. The number, genders, and appearances of each will be randomized, effected of course by familial traits. I'll go into more detail on the exact system when in becomes relevant. Kits will not be determined until their birth; they will be a mystery until that point. Kits must be claimed by a roleplayer by the time they become an apprentice or they will have to be killed off by sickness, predators, accidents, or something of the sort. Hopefully, it will never come to that (they will have six weeks to be claimed, after all- not to mention the two moons of pregnancy where people can express interest, even if they don't outright claim them).
You may join as a rogue, loner, or kittypet, but the appearance of that cat will also be randomized. You may choose gender, age, and name for the cat, but the rest will be randomized so as to prevent people from constantly making non-Clan cats and trying to make them join the Clans in an effort to get a custom OC into a Clan. Non-Clan cats joining the Clans will also be very rare, though of course it is more accepted in some Clans than others.
This page in particular serves as both the Gathering page as well as the border page and chat page for all the Clans.
Roleplay Rules
Follow the forum rules and ghost rules, which I shouldn't have to reiterate here. Primarily, though, no flaming, spotlighting, or powerplaying.
No mary-sues/gary-stus, and no "-ests." Your cat can be very good at something, but it's difficult to say that they're the absolute best at anything. And they have to have some flaws. Otherwise, how would they get any character development?
Obviously, keep things pg. That means no very graphic descriptions of violence, no foul language, and nothing else that would be considered inappropriate for children.
Try to be descriptive and original. This applies to both behavior and appearance. Since this is a claim-a-cat roleplay, obviously most appearances will be predetermined anyways. As for behavior, just keep their personality, values, and reactions consistent. Obviously characters will change over time, or react to some situations differently than expected, but most changes will be gradual and have reasons behind them. Pretty much don't make your character wildly inconsistent and arbitrary.
I reserve the right to reject any players that I don't consider literate enough or to remove players who doesn't adequately follow rules.
If you are gone for more than a two weeks without prior warning, I will remove you and open your characters up for claiming. I will not go chasing you down; liking your posts should be reminder enough.
If you claim a high-ranking position such as leader, deputy, or medicine cat, you must be especially active (check & update at least 6 days of the week, but preferably more). Everyone else should still be active, but as long as you don't trap other peoples' characters and are on relatively frequently, I'm not too concerned about activity.
As for everything else, it's just the usual: please don't leave and never come back; if you're gone for a very long time without prior warning or explanation (probably a month+) you will be deleted; if you break the rules you may be deleted depending on the severity of your offense; please use () [] or something of the sort to separate in-character from out-of-character; no spamming unless you are requesting someone to go somewhere.

The Warrior Code
1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their
warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen
before moonhigh.
10. A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
16. Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

Joining
This is a claim-a-cat roleplay, though you will still be able to make your character your own to a degree. Each Clan has a preset list of allegiances where each cat is given a name, age, rank, kin, and a brief description. You may add to their description as much as you want, so long as you don't directly contradict any information already given. You may also add a personality- their personality is entirely up to you.
In the case of cats who have a mate, you MAY choose to make them no longer be with their mate. However, they still will have been together at one point and any kits from that relationship do remain. You can also choose to give your cat a mate even if they are not listed with one, but the roleplayer of that cat must- of course- agree. You are also welcome to make your she-cat an expectant queen when you join, granted that she has a mate.
