Blackstar has been a pretty decent leader, but when he killed Stonefur he still chose to do so. You can argue that he was under Tigerstar's orders, but keep in mind that Stonefur refused to kill the apprentices. However, he's probably been the most decent leader ShadowClan has ever had, and when Rowanstar became leader everything fell apart again.

I already forgave him, he was a great leader and he learned not to do the things that Tigerstar did.....or at least I think he did because Firestar did warn him to learn from what he did to Stonefur. Plus he was the best leader we've seen leading Shadowclan well....imo he was.

I personally still don't think he deserved to be leader, but he did do a better job than Rowan, Blackstar has a bad taste in deputies after Russetfur.

I would forgive him, seeing that he turned out to be an excellent leader for his Clan... Not to mention that you was probably the best and strongest that they had… Plus, we don't know how much Tigerstar and Brokenstar brainwashed him into following their orders (it could have been to the point where he had no free will at all at that time, which is something that can happen during brainwashing). It would make sense that once he was free of them, he became a good leader. That's probably why Starclan allowed it…

Personally, yes. Blackstar proved his loyalty to ShadowClan. He got a chance to redeem himself for following Brokenstar and all that, and he took it and used it wisely, unlike Tigerstar, who got his chance with ShadowClan and blew it with BloodClan. Especially in the Last Hope, I noticed, Blackstar put his pride aside to ally with the other Clans to save all the Clans.
I'm also keeping in mind how he killed Stonefur and how Sol persuaded him to lose faith in StarClan. That was foolish, but afterwards, he was strictly loyal and was furious when he heard that Sol was back. About Stonefur, I admit I get upset with Blackstar whenever I go back and re-read that part. That was Blackstar's own cruel decision. But in my personal opinion, I think he's changed a lot from the Prophecies Begin Arc. to his death.

I'm not sure if I would forgive him, but then again, nor do I care for him either. On one hand, he followed Brokenstar and Tigerstar and killed Rosetail and Stonefur. He likely had no other choice in the killings and likely would've been killed himself had he disobeyed, but he still killed nonetheless and without apologizing at that, but instead just kept on moving forward. But on the other hand, he still turned out to be a good leader for ShadowClan.

I forgave him in real life but if I was a character in the book I'd probably be wary of him and never fully trust him. Letting Sol take over ShadowClan would only make me distrust him even more.

I already forgave him long ago. In a way, you could see that if Blackstar didn't kill Stonefur he probably would've gotten himself and Stonefur killed.

Stonefur made the wise choice to not kill the apprentices though. Blackstar could have chosen not to do it. What he did was still a crime. I wouldn't forgive him, but I think he deserves a second chance since he was a good leader for ShadowClan

I definitely forgave Blackstar. He may have been a bad person cat but he proved that he was a good leader and a much better cat later within the series.
