"No one knows if the princess will show, since you became her champion shes been walking around the city with the guard that trains you and that servant of hers. Shes been remodeling bath houses orphanages and going to the market. Many slavers fear she will buy their slaves and set them free. And rumor has it shes been attempting to buy you off of Remus." He said nudging him with his elbow, "You've set a fire in her now she seems to be helping the whole country, she making herself very popular." Aedan swelled with pride upon hearing the good things Sabina had been doing "It is wonderful that she is doing these things," he replied with a smile "Let us just pray that she does not get into trouble for doing them. That would be such a terrible thing to happen" He didn't want Sabina to get into trouble for doing the good things she was doing. He would simply hate that. All it would take would be her father to find out she was doing so much and she could be in deep trouble.

It was Idelle who ushered the boys in through the gates, pulling them towards where their mother would be waiting for them. The boys seemed alright - they were unijured, thankfully. She had no idea how their mother would react if they had gotten hurt. Aedan smiled as he heard the singing stop, thankful that the plan had worked. That must mean that Damianos had gotten through alright ------ Drustan nodded in agreement with his brother as he too turned away "Let us just hope that we have not angered them already" The eldest was about 16. He had deep, black raven hair and the same violet eyes as his mother, looking to the world like the true son of Morrigan in his mothers place. He hugged her tightly, body shaking, Brígh pulling them both into his arms. The youngest was no older than Esca, his hair the same flaming red as Brígh and his eyes a deep green. 'I've got you.' She murmured to them, smiling over at Idelle with warmth. Damianos came running back inside, bouncing around Idelle, then bouncing around Brígh- who removed the magic so he just looked like a giant, hyperactive puppy- and then sprinted into the roundhouse with a happy woof, now running around it, feeling extremely hyper and excited. He came to a stop in front of Esca and Aedan, and dropped himself into a play-bow with his butt in the air and tail wagging ferociously.

[Yay, Esca can have a new friend! Maybe Brigh's youngest son can be a friend for him ] Idelle smiled, but moved away to give the mother and her sons some time together. She had wanted that when she first got Esca back, and she knew that Brígh had been separated from her sons for much longer than she had been separated from Esca. Esca cheered up considerably when Damianos came in, and ran to chase the wolf, running outside. He stopped when he caught sight of the two boys, one of which was about his own age. He gave a smile to this younger boy and continued to run around with Damianos. Maybe the boy would want to join in with them? Aedan had watched Esca perk up with a smile, and it was as if the past couple of days hadn't even happened. Maybe they would be able to get past what had happened. With time.

Damianos playfully nipped at Esca's ankles as he rain away, then skidded to a halt and woofed at Brígh and her sons, playbowing again. The eldest glanced at him and leaned down to ruffle the fur on his head. 'Thanks.' He said, his voice a pleasant lilt, before he followed Brígh away. The youngest hesitated, then released a quiet, playful shriek as Damianos ran at him, and he laughed, trying to outrun the huge wolf.
Brígh glanced back, comfortable to let them wander as she sat nearby. 'It's good to have you back, Ciar.' She said softly, kissing the top of his head. 'I'm just glad I'm alive.' Ciar said, sighing softly.

Aedan was leaning against the wall of one of the roundhouses before he approached Brígh and Ciar.
"Uh, sorry to interrupt," he smiled "But I've just been told that we have a roundhouse ready for all three of you should you want to stay. You're welcome here for as long as you want to stay"
-----
Esca too shrieked as he and the other boy tried to outrun the wolf, and laughing as they were eventually caught.
"Our turn, Damianos. We'll chase you now" Esca challenged, laughing

'It's alright, chief. Thankyou for your hospitality.' Brígh replied. Ciar stood and held out his hand to Aedan, a maturity in the boy that shouldn't have been there for at least another four years. 'It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. Thankyou for letting us stay here.'
---
Damianos wagged his tail and seemed to be grinning as he leapt away and began to trot about, the slower pace enough to just outrun the two boys yet have them almost catching him.
'I'm m-mordred.' The young boy stammered to Esca, feeling shy but wanting to make friends with this boy who was apparently friends with a giant friendly demon wolf. Thing.

['Thing' at the end made me laugh so hard]
Aedan smiled and shook his hand "You're welcome. But you're fine here, you know. No need to be formal, we're all friends. You can be a kid again if you want"
He was trying to put the boy at ease, partly because he saw so much of himself in him. Someone who had been forced to grow up just that little bit too fast. It pained him to see it.
----------
"Hi, Mordred" Esca smiled, a little dimple showing in his cheek "I'm Esca. It's really nice to meet you."
And it was. I mean, Esca had a chance to have a new friend. Esca never got new friends. New friend!

His words didn't seem to have an effect on the boy, he simply looked awkwardly at Brígh with a question in his eyes, then back at Aedan. 'Uh... sure, chief.' He managed, before sitting back down and unsheathing a dagger to polish it. Brígh warily watched him, then smiled slightly at Aedan. 'Where is our place situated?' She asked.
---
'Nice to meet you, Esca.' Mordred returned, laughing as he almost caught Damianos, but not quite.
((Esca is so cute))

[Hehe I know right? He's twelve but I feel like he's still seven]
Aedan smiled and pointed out a little roundhouse, which stood not too far from the centre of the village "It's there. It's a lot bigger than it looks on the outside - it should be plenty enough for all three of you, I should think."
---------
Esca grinned as he too almost caught up to the wolf "Oh, yeah, and that's Damianos. He's really cool."

'Just having it is enough.' Brígh told him, standing and kissing his cheek. 'Thankyou.' She said again, beforeheading over to it. 'I'm going to sleep, Ciar.' 'Okay.' Ciar responded, watching her leave, before he sat back and curiously examined Aedan, gaze sliding to his clipped ear and the scars covering his body.
---
Damianos spun and jumped backwards as the two barrelled into him, turning human and laughing loudly as he held them to his body. 'No escape!!!' 'Ahhhhh!!! The horror!!!! A giant!!!' Mordred playfully yelled, kicking his legs to try and break free of the literal giant that was Damianos.

Aedan could see Ciar's gaze moving to the things that probably stood out the most about Aedan - his ear and his scars.
"Long story," he smiled "I was eighteen - and actually, you reminded me of myself just now. But I was older, so even though it was a long time, it was a little easier on me. But trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel. I don't know if knowing that is helpful to you at all, but there it is"
------
Esca too laughed, trying to get free "Not fair, Damianos!"
Damianos was about three times the size of them, and a whole lot stronger. But, Esca was having fun, so he didn't mind all that much.

He tilted his head slightly as Aedan spoke, then smiled wearily looked away to watch Mordred. 'I didn't want him getting hurt.' He said. 'So I took all of his punishments.' He hesitated, glancing up at Aedan, then checking to see if Brígh was gone. 'I don't want my mother to see,' he mumbled, standing and tugging his jerkin over his head. 'I've tried to look after them myself but there's not much you can do when you're a prisoner.' He turned his back and lifted his black hair, revealing a very, very sore looking criss-crossing mash of whip lashes across his back, most of them still fresh and oozing a little blood. He glanced back at Aedan. 'I don't feel much pain, but I can't let them get infected.'
---
Damianos grinned down at the kids before letting them go and sitting up, ruffling first Esca's hair and then Mordred's. 'Go to your mother.' He told Mordred, who nodded and bid Esca goodnight, before running off to the roundhouse he'd seen her disappear into.

Aedan nodded, biting his lip as he looked at the scars. They looked terrible, but he couldn't let himself be fazed, so instead he spoke with the authority of an experienced doctor "Okay, I've seen worse, but you've definitely asked the right person. What you need to do is wash them out - I'm sure there'll be some water somewhere. I'm sure the village healer," he pointed out the building where the healer resided "will have some sort of balm or something to prevent infection. I didn't have anything to put on mine, I used to just wash them out and then I bandaged them up. But make sure you keep the dressings fresh. And don't worry, I won't say a word to your mother."
_____
Esca smiled, bidding goodbye to the other boy, before turning to Damianos "Are you alright, Damianos?" he asked with a smile. He always liked to check on him.

He glanced up at where he pointed, then smiled at Aedan, a little trust appearing in the boy's eyes. 'Thanks.' He said, pulling his shirt back on and letting his hair drop, before quietly walking away, seeming to melt into the shadows as he went.
---
'I'm alright, Esca.' Damianos soothed the boy, pulling him into a light hug, glancing over at where Aedan was speaking to Ciar, curious as he watched him leave.

Aedan smiled as the boy left, turning to approach Damianos and Esca, running a hand through his blonde hair as he did, his ear once again hidden by the blond.
______
Esca watched too as Ciar walked away "I wonder what that was about. Uncle Aedan looked really serious, didn't he? I hope everything's okay"

'Go see your mother,' he said for the second time that night, pushing him towards the roundhouse and where Idelle was. The village had fallen silent now, the villagers gone to bed, and he glanced at Aedan as he approached, holding out his arms to him; gaze soft and welcoming.

Esca nodded, running off into the roundhouse and leaving Damianos and Aedan alone.
Aedan smiled as his partner held out his arms, pulling him into a hug.
"I'm so glad you're okay," he said, planting a kiss on Damianos' cheek, before pulling away just a little so he could look at his partner properly "I saw myself in that Ciar kid. It was so strange. I've never seen it happen to someone else before. A little bit with you, but you were older than I was when you were taken. But I've seen it before. He's had to grow up so fast"

Damianos nodded, cupping Aedan's cheek, just glad to have him back in his arms, where he should be. 'I know. But he's here and he's safe.' He murmured, 'as are you.' He ran a hand through Aedan's silky blond hair; how he loved it. It was so different from his own coarse curls. He leaned down and pressed his forehead to Aedan's, closing his eyes at the comfort the intimate action delivered. 'You're not leaving me again.' He murmured. 'Wherever you go, I go. I don't even care if it's to the underworld, or Tartarus. I'll be at your side.'

Aedan smiled as he too closed his eyes "I'm never leaving you again, I promise. Just like I didn't leave you in the Arena"
Ah, the Arena. When the two of them had tried to escape. How long ago was it now? Seven years? Sounded about right. It had been so long.

Damianos chuckled, then tilted Aedan's head up and pressed his lips to his, savouring the taste of the Celt, closing his eyes to focus solely on the fact that Aedan was with him, and not going anywhere again. He really didn't care at this moment if anybody came across them.

Aedan smiled as he too leaned into the kiss, totally oblivious to the world, forgetting everything except for Damianos' touch as he moved closer. He couldn't care less who saw them either - Esca was inside the roundhouse, so there was nobody to worry about seeing them. Was there?

Ciar quietly thanked the medic woman as he left her hut, holding a vial of ointment that he was supposed to give to Aedan for safe-keeping- the woman, for some reason, wanted the chief to be the one to look after him instead of her. Shaking his head he began to walk towards the roundhouses, andfriwned when he saw two figures- oh, wonderful. A deep blush on his cheeks he cast his gaze to the sky, and coughed loud enough to get their attention.
Damianos jumped at the cough and released a quiet, possessive and annoyed growl from deep within his throat, hands tightening slightly on Aedan before he sighed and pulled away. Duty called. He glanced up and saw it was one of Brígh's kids- Ciar, the eldest, and he raised his eyebrows at him in question.
Ciar refused to look at them, deeply embarrassed. 'Uhm. The lady said you're to look after my back until it's healed.' He awkwardly said, holding out the ointment to Aedan. 'I tried to tell her no but she wasn't having it.'

Aedan couldn't help but smile at Damianos' growl, but raised an eyebrow at him to warm him to be nice before he turned to Ciar.
They were all clearly deeply embarrassed - well, Aedan knew he was blushing, he couldn't tell if Ciar was because the boy was so embarrassed he couldn't look at him. He quickly took the ointment.
"Alright, do you need some ointment on now or do you need to wait until morning? What instructions did the medic give you?" he asked, shaking off his embarrassment so he could move the conversation on from what was clearly a rather awkward position.

Damianos only seemed agitated; where he was from, it wasnt unusual to display public affection.
'She said to change the bandages in the morning, wash the lashes, and then reapply the ointment with more bandages.' Ciar said, before nodding his head at him nervously. 'G-goodnight, sir.' He added, hurrying away to his mothers roundhouse.

Aedan had nodded, and watched as the boy hurried away as soon as he could.
He then turned back to Damianos once the boy was gone "See, it's typical, isn't it? When you're young and you get taken like that, you grow up too fast in some ways, and not fast enough in others. I was like that. I told you I see a lot of myself in him."

Damianos watched him go and looked at Aedan as he spoke. 'I know what you mean, Aedan.' He chuckled, before taking him by the waist and turning him- almost lifting him off his feet- to pin him against the wall of one of the roundhouses, kissing him again. He was determined to have his time with the chief, kids or no kids, damnit.
