((Hmmm...... well I was thinking of maybe killing off the boy-Lykos' mother? Maybe some kind of mystery murders... xD secretly another tribe that's killing them off now that they're out in the open? Would put strain on Damianos and his pack would start questioning his ability as leader to keep them safe etc)) Damianos tensed slightly and his steps became much, much more careful, not about to let Esca get hurt. Nuellan laughed at this, finding Damianos' love for children ever-funny. He shook his head. 'I think we should just adopt a bunch of babies for him to call his own.' He said, sounding amused. 'Do you think he'd be happy then?' Damianos whined loudly in response, tail wagging. 'I think that was a yes.' Aquila grinned, looking at Aedan (Hmm, interesting x I like it) Aedan laughed "You'd make a much better uncle than I, Damianos. I have no natural talent for childcare. I think if we want to make you happy we ought to just surround you with children," Esca jumped down from Damianos' back, landing nimbly on the balls of his feet. He was definitely looking more grown up now. He was getting taller now and was getting a lanky sort of appearance, something which he would grow into, eventually looking like his uncle, with a good distribution of muscle rather than being tall and skinny. Damianos transformed back, brushing himself down and smoothing a hand through his hair, shooting Aedan a handsome smile. He then examined Esca with interest. 'What weapon do you fight with?' He questioned, curious about the young boys activities in his absence.

"I still favour my bow," Esca replied "and I know how to use a spear quite well. Close range, I just use a greatsword,"
The boy could use all kinds of weapons now, after years of training and practise. But he still couldn't compare to the adult warriors, who usually had an edge in their strength

But he still couldn't compare to the adult warriors, who usually had an edge in their strength 'I can help you train with a spear and greatsword if you'd like.' He said. 'I made a promise five years ago and didn't keep it.' He smiled warily, scratching the back of his neck. He hated breaking his promises; it wasn't very often that he did, and he most certainly hadn't broken one to Aedan as of yet.

Esca smiled "I'd like that. And please, don't worry about the promise - I understand. You had a responsibility to the Lykos, and having a responsibility to your people is something I can understand. So you have no need to feel bad about it, you know."

He seemed to relax as he examined the boy. 'You'll grow into a fine man.' He murmured softly. 'Atreus would have liked you.' Aquila and Nuellan sadly looked down, the pain of their trainers death still lingered. He shook his head, then glanced at the sky. 'We'll continue this tonight; we've got a pack hunt. I'm teaching the boys to hunt with their noses and ears, not their eyes.' He said, smiling shyly at Aedan then kissing his sisters on the cheeks as he walked away, transforming again. Half the pack of Lykos, plus the young boys, transformed as well. They began to play around Damianos, leaping around each other and yipping, psyching themselves up for the hunt, before they released a chorus of loud howls- their own kind of battle cry- and Damianos led them away, trusting the remaining Lykos to behave themselves.

Aedan too swallowed upon the mention of Atreus, but shot Damianos a handsome smile as he watched the other man transform and lead the way for his pack to follow him as they went to hunt.
Esca watched Damianos go a little sadly, but as the tribe went to settle down, Esca ran to grab his sword so he could practise a little before the tribe's next meal.
He had little else to do with his morning until breakfast time so he figured it would be best for him to practise a little

Nuellan asked, walking over to him, a small smile on his lips. 'You can take turns fighting me and Aquila if you'd like.' Aquila followed him over and grinned widely. 'Not just Damianos that has some things to teach.' 'Had to learn his things from somewhere.'

"Who am I fighting first?" He asked, looking between the two men 'Aquila.' Nuellan said, wanting to be able to shock Esca with speed once he'd gotten used to Aquila's stronger, slower movements. Aquila picked up a wooden sword and smiled at Esca. 'Whenever you're ready kid; you can be on offence, we'll see how well I am counter your attacks.'

Esca nodded "Okay,"
He sunk low, like Aedan had taught him. It was clear Aedan had taught him because his stance was quite similar, only slightly altered so it worked for Esca.
He made the first attack, starting to attack. They still needed a little cleaning up and a little more power after them, but they were quite fast and it seemed that Esca generally had the idea of what he had to do.

Aquila scolded. 'Feet further apart. You're lunging with the wrong leg.' He'd whap the part of Esca's body that was making a mistake with his sword whenever he noticed, light enough to not hurt too much but hard enough that Esca wouldn't want to repeat the mistake. Aquila smiled slightly, overall pleased with how the boy came at him, before he swung his sword at Esca's legs and tripped him onto his back. 'You're small and thin,' he said. 'Your best weapon right now is to keep moving and be as small a target as possible.'

As Esca was tripped the boy fell into peals of laughter, but was soon up again, following Aquila's advice as best he could, suddenly finding that he was fighting a lot better, fighting more confidently and cleanly, moving around and looking for all the world like his Uncle, who had come to watch Esca practise, grinning as he saw him get better.
'He's already much better," Aedan murmured to Nuellan "you and Aquila are doing an excellent job"

He said, running a hand through his hair. 'We haven't seen him fight since that tribe battle.' Aquila tripped up Esca a total of five more times before he let the poor lad take a break, chuckling as he sat down with him. 'You can take over now, Nu.' 'Yeah.' The Celt replied, smiling slightly at the Roman.

Aedan grinned as Nuellan took over. It would be very interesting to see how Esca handled a fighter like Nuellan, with the kind of speed Nuellan had.
"Watch out, Esca," Aedan warned "he's very fast"
"He can't be much faster than you," Esca responded, looking at Aedan.
"Famous last words," Aedan chuckled.

He backed up, smiling, before suddenly shooting forwards and dancing with ease around Esca, his footwork as beautiful as it was deadly. Before Esca really had a chance to react, Nuellan had whapped him across the legs, then across the chest. 'Dead.' He said, straightening. 'Now, let's run that again, and this time- try and keep up.' He grinned.

"You weren't kidding," Esca said to Aedan, laughing in astonishment.
"I did warn you," Aedan replied "Don't feel too bad about it. It takes full grown gladiators most of a fight to land land a hit on him."
Esca nodded, and this time he was more prepared for Nuellan's attacks, this time lasting about half a minute longer than previously. It wasn't much, but it was a great improvement from the first attempt.

Finally he let Esca go, handing him some food to get his strength back. He glanced up at the distant howl of Damianos, his the clearest of all due to its deep sound. The Lykos pack cheered and grinned, looking happy. 'Must have been a successful hunt.' Nuellan said. 'He'll be on his way back now.'

Gradually Esca had begun to fall into his own rhythm, and like his uncle he was quite fast, though at his age his speed could still never compare with Nuellan's, and by the time he was finished Esca was exhausted, and took the food offered to him gratefully.
He too looked up at the howls, grinning. It meant Damianos was on his way back. Good.

He too looked up at the howls, grinning. It meant Damianos was on his way back. Good. Nuellan and Aquila both appeared happy with their results, and settled against each other- shoulder to shoulder- to eat as well, as they patiently waited for their younger gladiator to come home. It wasn't long before he did- limping and supported by one of the larger females, but a determined look in his eyes despite the blood running over his thick fur from multiple bites. Seconds later the reason appeared- the remaining pack carrying a huge bear upon their backs into the village. 'Holy...' Aquila gasped, staring. 'Did they- purposely hunt that?' 'I don't think so.' Nuellan said, watching as they dumped it and gave it annoyed, aggressive looks as they returned to the remaining pack. They managed to get Damianos over and he slumped heavily down onto his side, panting. One of the females rushed over, human, and crouched to examine his back leg and his back, which seemed to be the worst injured. 'What on earth happened?' One of the boys turned back- luckily unharmed- looking scared. 'We were hunting deer, and it came out of nowhere. It was rabid we think. It barely flinched when we bit it, and took the entire pack on its back, plus Damianos hanging from its throat to bring it down. We're lucky he has such a strong bite.' He finished, glancing over at the alpha, who was watching the woman tend to his wounds.

(Hahaah the height of fashion for wolves)
Aedan rushed over as soon as he saw Damianos was hurt, sitting next to him as he helped to clean out the wounds, hoping the pack wouldn't chase him away.
"Are you alright?" he asked. His voice was gentle but also laced with concern and urgency. He had to know that Damianos was alright, that he was going to be okay. He wouldn't be able to stand it if anything were to happen to the other male.
He was concentrating hard on the work of helping clean the wound, but he also kept eye-contact with Damianos, desperate to see that he was alright, that he wasn't too badly hurt, that the injuries weren't infected or something like that.
Esca came running over too, but Aedan sharply told him to stay away, not wanting the boy to see the extent of Damianos' injuries and also simply because he didn't want to have the child in his way while he was trying to heal the other man.
Esca seemed a little frustrated, but did as he was told, going to stand with the others instead, where he couldn't see how bad Damianos' injuries really were. He was curious and worried, but he knew his uncle did everything with a reason, and that if Aedan didn't want Esca to be near Damianos, it must be for a very good reason. So he didn't question it.

((Vogue)) Damianos calmly kept hold of Aedan's gaze, blinking at him with ease to show he was alright, just in pain. The woman finished cleaning the wounds and ran off to fetch some bandages, returning and making him stand on three legs to wrap up his back. She then made him lie back down- Damianos looking rather disgruntled- to check his leg. She glanced at him as she took hold of it, slowly and gently stretching it out. It was almost straight before he yelped and sat up, baring his teeth at her. She barely flinched, knowing it was just 'ow, be careful!' In wolf, and so released his leg. 'I think it must be twisted, or the muscle has been pulled. Did the bear hit it?' Damianos nodded, and she frowned, pressing her fingers into his hip. He yelped again and she bit her lip. 'Ah. That might be a little more problematic.' She cautiously wondered for a moment, then called for someone to make her a splint. Once they had she pressed it against his leg and wrapped it tightly to it with the bandage, then sat back to examine her work. 'That's going to be uncomfortable for a while.' She warned him. 'I've set it so that your accellerated healing should fix the injury properly, but there's no much else I can do other than tell you to take it easy, okay?' He nodded and sighed, watching as she left. He awkwardly looked at Aedan, offering him an apologetic look and a lick on the cheek.

Aedan felt relieved as soon as it was clear that Damianos was going to be fine, that he was just in pain. That was important to him. So important.
As Damianos liked his face, Aedan laughed and gently pulled the wolf into a hug, careful not to harm his injured leg as he did so.
"Thank the gods you're okay," Aedan murmured, voice filled with relief "Maybe next time you should take more care with the bears, okay?"
The man was very concerned for Damianos, but he was too full of happiness and relief to get angry with the other male for letting himself get hurt and worrying Aedan like that. After all, he was safe, and that was all that mattered to him.
Esca came over now to hug the wolf too, and this time Aedan did not stop him, and all three of them were soon wrapped into a warm and tight embrace.

He snarled a warning at the pack before they began to cut at it, then seemed to say something. The women blinked, then nodded and went around to start skinning it instead, being extremely careful. Damianos seemed pleased and looked up at Aedan. 'Looks like we'll have to keep training you until Damianos is capable of walking and turning back.' Nuellan said, blinking down at the giant canine the two were hugging. 'Poor Dami.' Aquila grinned. 'Is your wee paw hurt?' Damianos gave him a very unimpressed glare.

He released a cacophony of loud, complaining yips and yowls, then headbutted him again and rolled onto his back, head shoved against Esca's lap. Aquila burst out laughing and walked away, the high-pitched laughter always strange with his massive figure. (Nuellan, certified fan girl and Damdan shipper) Damianos watched him go, confused, before realising they hadn't actually told anybody about their relationship in the good 8 year timespan that they'd known themselves. He made a noise as though he was laughing, and looked at Aedan, nuzzling his cold wet nose against his cheek affectionately.
