Aedan was at first a little frustrated that whatever Damianos had been about to say had been interrupted by the entrance of Atreus, but this was quickly followed by relief and happiness as he was informed that he had had earned his permanent place in the group. "Thank you," Aedan smiled, but was still a little taken aback by this statement. He was grateful, though, truly grateful. This was a great group, he knew it, and he felt like maybe he had something to add to it. Maybe he could be useful, help these men survive. 'Alright, boys... let's head home.' Atreus smiled. He paired them up to go into their carriages; the left-wings, Damianos and Aedan in Atreus' cart, and Aquila and Nuellan together. Damianos sighed with relief as he sat down inside the cart and closed the door behind them, before feeling vaguely embarrassed again at what their earlier conversation had been. Once they started moving, he slowly plucked up the courage again to speak. 'I... I would like to get closer to you, Aedan.' He softly said, his voice timid for once.

Aedan had been completely silent from then on as they got into the cart, but it was only when Damianos spoke again and said the words that Aedan had been waiting for that he lit up. He smiled back, a little shyly. This was an incredible moment, one that he never thought would happen.
"I was hoping you would say that." Aedan replied "Because I want to get closer to you, too"

'I'm new to this,' he warned him, looking up again. 'Just thought you should know.'

(OMG haha that's the best thing)
Aedan nodded and smiled, a blush appearing on his own cheeks, his pale skin giving it away "It's okay. So am I."
God, he'd never even had a crush before, never mind a relationship. He'd never really found anyonen he liked like that. Now he had, chef was determined not to mess things up.

Damianos gave him a cheeky grin. 'We'll learn together, then.' He said, running a hand through his hair, which was long enough now to hang in his eyes. 'I need to get this cut.' He murmured. 'I'll have to ask Atreus when we get home.' He glanced up at Aedan. 'Hey...' he said, hesitantly. 'I know I said before about going with you to your home; but... won't your people react badly to a foreigner who doesn't even speak their language, nor know their land and culture?'

(Good, except I hate further maths with a passion X you?)
Aedan shook his head "As long as you're not Roman, they'll accept you just fine. Besides, you're with me. Provided anyone from my family is still alive and anyone from my village still remembers me, we should be absolutely fine.. We're a trading people, anyway, and we come across many cultures. I'm sure my people have quite good opinions of the Greeks, or at least they did when I left. I don't figure that much can have changed in seven years, anyway."
His people were generally quite accepting, and Aedan had in mind to teach him a few important manners. As long as he taught Damianos the vital manners, he could have a good level of certainty that the Greek wouldn't offend his people.

(Ah bless x I'm just stressed with English literature rn there's so much to read + coursework + essays) Damianos nodded, slowly relaxing as Aedan spoke. 'And... your peoples opinions... on this?' He asked, gesturing between them, not sure where to place their 'relationship' quite as of yet. 'It is common with my Greek people, and hidden but known within Roman society.' He added. 'But I know nothing of yours.'

(Aw! A level sounds so hard and I can't)
Aedan shrugged "They are accepting of it. It is certainly known about among bands of warriors. My people are rather accepting, so I don't foresee an issue with it. But if there is, Damianos, we don't have to be among the tribes."
There were many people who chose not to live with the tribes and instead lived on their own. Without any tribe to call themselves a part of. Many said they enjoyed that life, and Aedan wondered if it might be the life he would want. Whether Celtic society had moved on without him.

Damianos relaxed again at the easy answers Aedan seemed able to provide him, and he nodded. 'Alright. I trust you, Aedan.' (Hmmm...... thinking we need something to happen at the homestead/guild... maybe Aedan's trainer could have burned the place down/killed off the remaining gladiators that were there? We can have our little gang go on the run then; and they have to find new ways of making money, with the intent of escaping Rome due to being fugitives? They will eventually get to Brittania And sixth form is awesome, when you're on top of the workload!! It's only a lot for me rn because my mental health makes it difficult for me to remember to do things/keep on top of it/study properly)

(Ooh, okay! So the trainer is angry, on the hunt for Aedan maybe, and they all just have to go on the run before they get killed by this trainer guy? Okay. I like this idea?
Aah, okay. I do find it hard to stay on top of workloads because I procrastinate. I mean, I've done zero revision for mocks tbh and I'm hoping it'll make me realise that I need to revise better come GCSEs)

(I completely flunked my GCSE's because I didn't study. I implire you now to study as hard as you possibly can, because it really damn well sucks when you come out with a scraped 6 GCSE's and your friends all get 8-12's :/ I'm just lucky that I passed the main three (maths English science) and that I was good at German and Textiles, and hated my ICT teacher for telling me I wouldn't pass lol (Petty level: 100%, comes out with a B just to shove it up her butt))

(Right x Thanks x and sure)
Aedan was the first to catch the smell, and at first he looked around, wondering if he was the only one who smelt it. But then a single piece of ash drifted past and he knew he had smelt right.
"There's been a fire." he said "The training guild is the only place for miles. It's got to be that. Was there a fire?"
He struggled to lean, trying to get a view of the place as they approached it. If it was on fire, Atreus would notice in a moment anyway, wouldn't he?

Atreus narrowed his eyes and tugged the carriage to a halt, the other two carriages following suit. 'Stay put!' He shouted, before heading off. A good ten minutes later he came sprinting back, and yanked the horse to pull the carriage around, swearing loudly. 'Hyah!' He yelled, the horse whinnying and breaking into a gallop. Damianos gasped and quickly grabbed his seat to steady himself. 'Atreus! What's going on?' 'The whole guilds been burnt down!' Atreus replied. 'Everyone's dead. We need to leave, now!'
Damianos turned to look at Aedan with wide eyes full of fear, and then coupled with loss. 'N-' he tried to speak, then sat back, placing a hand over his mouth, slowly trying to calm down.

Aedan swore under his breath, shifting closer to Damainos, trying to help calm the other male down.
"I think Metallus had finally caught up with me," he muttered "This is his way of punishing me for leaving and you and Atreus for helping me escape. If he finds us, he'll kill us all. We're going to have to get as far away from this place as we possibly can and as soon as we can. We don't have much time. If he's been here, Metallus could be anywhere by now. There's no way he's just gone back to Rome"

He looked around, then his eyes widened as he saw a group of other carriages flying towards their three. 'Atreus!' He warned, and the Trainer spurred the horse on even faster, releasing a shaky breath. Damianos quickly slammed the carriage door shut, sitting back down next to Aedan. 'I think they were waiting.' He said.

He paused "Our plan for the two of us to get to Britannia would work with a few more people. Wouldn't it?" He asked, bracing his arms across the walls of the carriage as the swung around corners

He asked, bracing his arms across the walls of the carriage as the swung around corners 'Of course it would; Atreus has charm and can weasel himself out of most any situation; Aquila is brawn in itself; Nuallan has... other talents, from a past.... position.' He danced around Nuallan's past, as it wasn't his place to tell. He looked at Aedan, eyes widening. 'You want to take all of us to Brittania?' He breathed, moved by Aedan.

"It's that or we all die" Aedan pointed out "and nobody here deserves to die. The only other thing I would suggest is I go back to Metallus. He might leave wou alone, but I can't guarantee what'll happen to me. Considering I'm rather attached to life, yes, I'd like to take you all to Britannia. The only problem is how we'd get there - we'd probably have to raise some funds to get ourselves there, unless we stowaway on a ship"

Damianos viciously said, a terrifyingly lethal look in his eyes. 'Over my dead body will he take you back.' He turned away, wincing as the carriage violently bounced on another turn. He then froze as he heard, from the left, a scream and then a crash; their left wings. He leaned out of the door again to see what had happened, and found that their enemies had crashed their left-wingers carriage into a ditch. The gladiators were climbing out, and trying to defend themselves. Damianos cursed and retreated back inside, trusting Atreus to take them to safety, and praying to the gods to allow them escape.

Aedan nodded "Then it's agreed - we get ourselves to a port as quickly as possible and then on the next boat to Britannia. It's a long shot, but it's the only thing I can think of that has a chance of working."
He knocked on the wood "Uh, Atreus?!" He yelled "Know you're kind of busy, right now, but drive towards the port! I have an idea!"

'We need to find somewhere quiet and lay down low for a while!' The carriage jerked sharply to the left and there was a loud crash, followed by a loud holler of victory from Atreus. 'Take that!!!' Damianos snorted, struggling to work through his panic.

Aedan didnt respond. He trusted Atreus, and if the man thought it would be a better idea to lay low rather than climbing on a ship, Aedan could trust him. It would be okay, he knew. "Okay!" he replied a minute or two later "I trust you!" He wasn't going to object, especially since he wasn't, even now, going to forget his place. He was still a slave and Atreus was his master, no matter how close they were to death.

He was still a slave and Atreus was his master, no matter how close they were to death. (Was Aedan anyone important in his clan, or was he just one of their members/warriors?) The carriage suddenly became airborne for a moment, and Damianos slammed his arm across Aedan to stop him from getting injured as they crashed back down to earth. There was a second holler from their right-flank, and frightened yells from Aquila and Nuallan. Damianos released a laugh, unable to help it; their situation was too ridiculous to be happening. All of a sudden they turned left, and came to a halt. The sound of carriages speeding past reached their ears, and then, silence. There was scuffling and then Atreus flung open the carriage doors. 'Help me unharness the horses and pack our supplies.' He quickly said. 'We need to ditch the carriages and go off-road.' Damianos nodded and hurriedly climbed out, helping to get the horses out of their harnesses and into saddles they kept in the carriages instead.

(Well in some plots he's the son of a chief. If you think him being someone important you could do that)
While Damainos and Afreus unharnessed the horses, Aedan focussed on packing the supplies. He did an even distribution of the supplies so everyone had an even load and if anyone got seperated they could have enough supplies to last them a day or two until the rest of the group found them or they could get to safety.
Once he had packed up the supplies, he began to distribute them among himself, Damianos, Atreus, Aquila and Nuallan.
"There's enough there to last a couple of days each if someone gets seperated," he explained "it should be okay and it'll make it easy for us to be able to lay low and stay safe"
