Bion looked over at the boars and frowned. If only Saber's large cat form hadn't been hurt. Saber's large cat form could probably have carried the bulk while Bion carried one. Obviously, with his cat form being hurt, that wasn't an option. Maybe they could find a horse or eat some? He figure eating would be out of the question and Bion didn't nearly have enough money for a horse. Bion walked over and crouched by one of the boars. "We could just chop off their tusks." Bion said, running his finger along one of the ivory tucks. They were amazingly well-cared for. Bion almost questioned that these were wild animals.

'You are a certified genius!!' He gushed, walking over. 'That way we can still prove we killed them.' He grinned, crouching down. About an hour later they had successfully removed all of the boars tusks, Saber taking six of them since Bion already had stuff to carry. 'Alright. Let's head back to the temple.' Saber said, trying to ignore the phantom throbbing in his jaw.

Bion's ears burned at the complement and a small smile grew on his face. he started to get to work, but eyed Saber every once in a while. The man had been though a lot in the last day. Bion was surprised Saber hadn't fainted or quit. But nothing happened in an hour. They did cut off the boars' tusks, that was something, but Saber didn't faint or have any bad symptoms to the cloves. Or the other man was very good at hiding it. Bion nodded and started to walk next to Saber. "Do you want me to carry any of those?" He offered.

'Let's just hurry back to the temple and give em to Ares.' He felt a sudden weariness upon realising he'd have to re-enter that horrid aura again, and he wondered if this time he'd be able to shrug it off without suffering.

Bion nodded. It was the answer he had been expecting. He walked to the temple almost silently. As they neared the red and black building, he suddenly remembered the whole aura thing. "I will go into the temple this time." He said, looking over at Saber with a slight frown and eyes filled with confidence. Today had been majorly horrible for the other male. Carrying some tusks while some god looms over him wouldn't be good for Saber right now. Bion, who continually remained unscathed in these battles, could stand it.

He nervously replied. 'It's horrible, Bion. It feels like you're being crushed beneath the rage that utterly overwhelms you.' He wore a caring look in his eyes, not wanting the demigod to get hurt. 'If it gets too much, leave immediately.' He said sternly, giving him the remaining tusks. 'And let me take over, okay?'

Sorry. I was really busy most of the day. )
Bion already knew that, no matter what, he was going to power through, but he gave a small nod to Saber. He dropped his stuff on the ground before accepting the tusks. "I'll be out before you know it." He said while not making eye contact. He was afraid Saber was going to see the nervousness and slight fear that was slowly forming in his gut and would call off the whole thing. Bion stepped into the temple. He suddenly clenched the tusks against his chest. He gritted his teeth as rage ran rampant through his body. He no longer felt fear or nervous, just the undying need to rip someone apart. His pupils narrowed and his muscles tensed as he struggled against himself. He knew there was someone behind him and his legs almost turned. He forced himself to take a couple more steps before falling to his knees. This would have to do. There was no why he was making it to the shrine. "Ares, God of war, please accept his offering and restore Saber's memories." he said, struggling to say these words through clenched teeth.

"Ares, God of war, please accept his offering and restore Saber's memories." he said, struggling to say these words through clenched teeth. ((All good!! ^.^)) Saber watched him go with worry in his eyes, and silently waited for the gods verdict. 'WELL DONE!' Ares roared, the tusks swiftly disappearing as he claimed them for his own. 'I will do as you request; I am impressed with your work!' Saber gasped as splitting pain surged into his skull, and he released a yell, gripping his head with his hands and curling into a ball. This hurt worse than Zeus- 'I'm not a runt!' 'Yes you are.' Sneered a faceless figure in his memory- he made out brown hair. 'You're a useless, worthless /runt/.' Saber swung at the faceless male, and was out instantly onto his back without effort, becoming winded. 'Pathetic.' The second memory flooded in without pause; he was prowling in his cat-form, hunting. He captured some kind of deer, but it was immediately wrestled away from him by then much, much bigger brown-furred Saber which he knew to be the previous male. 'This is mine, runt. Get your own.' Saber shuddered; the third and final memory which slammed into him filled him with terrifying dread... the ethereal beauty of a young woman; skin extremely pale, like porcelain; her hair golden, like the sun. Her eyes beautifully almond-shaped and as gold as her hair. She was whispering to him, whispering, and he'd do anything to keep her lips to his ear- He swiftly snapped back to reality and surfaced from his memories, gasping for breath and gripping the grass tightly with his fists.

Bion's nails dug into the stone when Ares's presence increased. He winced as the God's booming voice, but a small sense of victory filled the man as he heard Ares say that they would be rewarded. A small smile came to his lips, but promptly let as he heard a yell. Saber! The man scrambled to his feet and dashed out of the building. There was no blood or any sort of enemy, so Bion had to assume it was the memories. He quickly kneeled by the man and placed his hand on Saber's shoulder. He didn't know what to say. Any topic of the memories would be too fresh and bare, but asking if the man was okay was just idiotic.

It took him a good few minutes to even realise Bion was there, and he sat up, hugging the demigod tightly and clinging to him. He was shaking violently, still gasping for breath. 'B-b-bad woman.' He croaked. 'Don't know- who she was. B-but she was bad. To the core.'

Bion nodded, holding Saber. He didn't know what Saber was talking about, but it had caused the other man distress and that was enough to get Bion upset. These memories seemed to add pain to Saber's life, not help him. Bion made a mental note to talk to Saber and try to convince him to leave his foolish quest. He couldn't see the other man getting hurt anymore. "Don't sorry. You're safe." He soothed.

He clung to him for a long while as he slowly started to calm down, swallowing tightly and licking his dry lips. He finally pulled away, face pale. He wiped his eyes and looked up at Bion. 'I'm sorry.' He mumbled. 'I don't mean to be a burden on you.'

A tiny smiled grew on Bion's face. Saber was just tired and stressed, Bion knew that, but it was still an odd thing to say. "When have you ever been a burden? In all of our battles you play a pretty important job and I think we are about even on the saved-your-life debt." Bion joked lightly before turning serious, "I honestly think this past week or so have been the most exciting days. Stressful, but I think I would go through them again if I could. Maybe not today exactly, but you get my point. These have been the greatest days of my life, as horribly sappy as that sounds."

A tiny smile spilled on his lips at his words. 'It's not sappy.' He mumbled, picking up his emotions and calming himself down at Bion's encouragement. He hesitated, then leaned in and pressed a chaste kiss to the other males cheek. 'Thankyou, Bion.' He murmured, before pulling back and shakily standing, holding his hand out to the demigod to help him up.

Bion blinked, a bit shocked at the sudden kiss. He snapped himself back after a second and nodded. He muttered a you're welcome and took the offered hand. He smiled at Saber before picking up all his things. "Let's try to head back to the tavern now." He said with a small smile.

He chuckled, taking Bion's arm and walking with him. 'I most definitely need it tonight.' He glanced back at the temple and tensed, seeing a tall male stood inside, dressed in battle-armour, eyes a blazing red. Ares smiled at him, then shimmered and disappeared. Saber nervously looked away and walked that little bit faster. 'And let's hurry, I'm parched.'

Bion shook his head. This was going to hurt their money stash, but Bion needed a good drink too. Before, it had seemed foolish to waste money on drinking, but after today, foolish things are good. Bion hurried after Saber. for some reason, he felt a little uneasy. It wasn't connected to Saber or anything. He just had an odd feeling in his gut. "Yeah. I don't think I ever want to see that temple again." He said.

He curiously said, as they made their way down to the town. 'Maybe it's to fire up those going into battle. Make them feel invincible.' He shuddered again. 'That's... actually quite terrifying...'

Bion nodded. he had heard of those having the blessing of Ares going into battle with no fear. Many scholars seemed split on whether this was a good idea or not. But the side that Ares supported always won. "Why do you think there were so many offerings?" He said, not really expecting an answer, "Ares is a powerful god."

'And now we are fully aware of that fact.' He murmured as they entered down, Saber sighing and leaning slightly on Bion as they approached the nearest inn for rooms and a drink. 'We need more money.' Saber said. 'I can get some work tomorrow and tomorrow night, and I'll see you the morning after.' He said, smiling slightly at Bion. 'But for now... let's rest our legs and work our stomachs.' He grinned, walking inside and finding them a table. 'What do you usually drink?' He curiously asked. 'I feel like I have a taste for Whiskey.'

Bion frowned but nodded. Their funds were getting low, but he didn't like the idea of Saber wondering out alone. He could take care of himself, Bion knew that, however, monsters tended to flock to Saber and people always seemed to do the same. He stuck out of the crowd like a sore thumb. The man couldn't deny the money would be usefull so he held back from telling Saber not to worry. Bion could do with a day of his old job which didn't include monsters. Bion put away these thoughts at Saber's question. "I haven't drank since that one time I snuck out with some of my old friends. Nevermind, I did drink...two months ago with a guy, Luke I think, who offered me free drinks after a hard job." Bion said, mostly to himself. It was odd; it felt like a lifetime ago that he went out with Luke for drinks and he only had hazy memories with his first drink. But both times he only had beer. Anything else was just too strong or bitter. "I just like beer."

He said, walking to the bar. A few minutes later he returned, putting down a beer in front of Bion and sitting to sip at his whiskey. 'So who's this Luke?' He curiously asked, stretching his arms above his head with a yawn.

I'm going to be gone for most of the day again. Sorry. )
Bion looked over at Saber with a raised eyebrow, but then shrugged when he couldn't find a hint on why Saber was stuck on Luke. He took a sip of his beer before starting his story "Luke owned a pottery shop in Athens. I had to deliver some very rare and breakable pots to him for a wealthy client. When I handed them over, no cracks or any blemishes, he practically cried." He couldn't hold back a smile. The faces that man could make were always ridiculous. "He announced that I had saved his shop and that he owed me a life-time worth of debt. He dragged me out for drinks at the tavern I was staying at. After that night, I haven't seen him." Bion frowned as he briefly wondered how Luke was doing. Hopefully, he wasn't going out of business or anything. Despite Bion knowing him and Luke were a one night thing, Luke was still a good person. It would be a shame if he were to be on the streets. Bion snapped away from the heavy thoughts and smiled again. "People usually do that. The giving ridiculous gifts part. One time this women wanted to give me some of her favorite gladiator's sweat from Roma." He laughed at the memory before taking a sip of his drink. The liquid felt good and warm.

Saber nodded quietly as Bion told his story, listening intently, head tilted ever so slightly as he took in the information. His lips spread into a wide grin at the mention of the gladiator sweat. 'That's horrible!' He laughed, shaking his head. 'It's probably because you're a demigod, Bion.' He lowered his voice so people wouldn't overhear. 'Our kind give off a certain aura that draws people to us; especially if we are blessed with the handsome charms of our fathers and mothers. Most people can't keep their hands off sons and daughters of Aphrodite. Apollo is the same- he is as radiant as the sun that he tows across the sky- his touch burns memories of it into your flesh.' He sighed slightly and looked down. 'Gods are dangerous beings; especially when they are born of desire.'

Bion snorted at Saber's statement. The idea of Apollo being praised about anything, made the man feel bitter. He knew it was childish to be mad about Apollo being his father and Apollo never showing his face, but that didn't stop that little spark of anger. He would later blame the beer. He did frowned at Saber's last statement. He couldn't really understand why Saber was worried about Gods, besides the fact they always seemed to bother people. Now that Bion thought about it, there was al lot of reasons to be mad at the Gods, but they haven't come across dire Gods yet. He was almost tempted to ask about it. However, the man decided not to priy into the other man's life. "Which god, or goddess, do you think your parent is?" He asked in a low, but cheerful voice, "Sadly, Artemis is the closest match to your abilities." Again, it was the beer's fault for making him have such a loose tongue.

Saber said, eyes widening. 'I wouldn't have thought so- she's a maiden goddess. She's sworn to chastity.' He grinned and shook his head. 'Maybe Dionysus... he can transform as well, and his symbol is the big cats... but I've never seen the type of cat I can turn into around Greece before.' He chewed his bottom lip, looking confused. 'It's strange...' he downed his whiskey and called the barmaid for a second glass; they brought it over with a flirtatious smile and took his payment, returning to the bar.

"Right." Bion said. He still doubted that Artemis was that loyal to her oath, but maybe oaths were more powerful with gods and goddesses. Not that it really mattered. Dionysus was more likely anyway. That man wasn't exactly known for keeping his hands to himself. "Ehh, whatever. Maybe your just some odd human from a distant land." He said with a shrug. He started to not care as the alcohol took effect. He glared at the barmaid but quickly realized his actions and looked away as she left. "After you get back your memories, are you gonna return home?" He asked.

'You... you feel more like home than the places in my memories.'

"Then you can stay, but I can't promise we will be talking to gods or fighting monsters all the time. In fact," He paused, unsure for a moment if he should continue. Before, he had been worried about upsetting the other male, but now, he frankly didn't care. He didn't like Saber's pain. "I think we should stop. Your memories seem to only bring you pain and as you said, they aren't home. I get wanting to know who you are, but maybe you don't need your memories." He looked over at Saber, hoping he had made sense.

((BOOM new plot!!! XD I may or may not have been slightly waiting for this; ok. So you know the woman I mentioned in his memories? Basically she's the goddess Eris (Goddess of Chaos etc) She wanted-in on Saber's pantheon- Saber is the eldest son of the king-God of this said pantheon. He bears a lot more power than what he currently has (as his father banished him and took his powers) because this goddess, Eris, played him and got into his head, turned him against his pantheon, and then used her chaos-y stuff to basically make him 'kill' them (gods regenerate but you can imagine that would be quite a nasty blow to ur pride) Luckily he couldn't kill his father or one of his triplet-brothers, and he was banished instead. But this Goddess, Eris, isn't finished with him yet, and either wants him to come back to her so she can get back inside of his head and emotionally manipulate him again, or she wants to kill him. How does this sound to you? If you have questions just ask, and if you don't like it just say! ))
