CHAPTER 1
I'm Pikesplash from RiverClan.
Love is like a burning flame. It could warm you from your nose to your tail tip. It could make you feel as if everything is warm, even the coldest leaf-bare.
But it could scorch your fur. It could also burn your body until only ashes are left.
This is what had happened to me.
It was a chilly leaf-fall, with honey-colored and flame-colored leaves drifting everywhere, forming a blanket on the compact earth. Most of the grown-ups had mates. My mother, Hailfall, wanted me to have kits with a handsome tom named Stoneshard soon, but I didn't want to.
My heart already belonged to someone else.
I had to admit that I was the prettiest she-cat in RiverClan, even prettier than my mother, who was once the spotlight of the Clan. Often I caught toms mooning over me, trying to flirt but failed miserably.
Yeah.
There was this rebellious she-cat called Crowflight, who was normal. Except for her actions- she loathes her parents, her littermates, everyone around her. Technically, I was the only one who could get close to her, and let's put that aside.
Crowflight was homosexual. Which means she likes she-cats.
We got so close, others thought we were mates. Some cats were disgusted. I wasn't.
