Chapter 1


Tigerpaw of Moonclan



Tigerpaw awoke to the morning light filtering through the trees and lighting up the small medicine den, "Wha- is it morning already?" Tigerpaw groaned shifting in his nest trying to get back to sleep.

"Yes. Now get up, you have work to do." a she-cat mewed from behind him, He could tell it was Applefrost even from behind him, he could feel her icy eyes looking at him in disappointment. She was always trying to motivate him, she had good intentions, but she was just annoying at times. Why would he want to wake up just to get harassed and teased by Volepaw? Tigerpaw did want to be a medicine cat; it had been his dream that he discovered in his brief warrior's apprenticeship. Sure, he did miss his crush Fawnpaw, but she liked Volepaw, and he knew it. ’Why does Volepaw get everything? It's just not fair!' He thought angered by his rival

"Okay, I'll go ask if Pearbriar if she needs anything." He reassured Applefrost, not wanting her to pile up more trivial tasks for him to do. Tigerpaw took a deep breath, Talking to Fawnpaw isn't breaking the medicine cat code, is it? He pondered heading towards the apprentice's den he was about to call Fawnpaw when his words were cut off by Volepaw.

"Hey! what are you doing here? I thought you wanted to clean elders ticks, rather than to become a warrior!" Volepaw meowed antagonistically,

'Why does he have to be such a snake!? He is always keeping me from Fawnpaw! He doesn't even like her!' Tigerpaw thought his head full of rage.

"No, I didn't, I'm just visiting. you won't be taking medicine cats for granted when you come down with greencough or get injured in battle" Tigerpaw countered, trying not to lose his cool. 'Volepaw isn't worth it.' he resolved.

"Tigerpaw, I didn't believe that you would come." Fawnpaw mewed.

'does this means she likes me?' He thought with hope. "Eaglepaw has the sniffles, can you give him something?" Fawnpaw said, showing Tigerpaw her sick Littermate. Tigerpaw sighed, 'of course; she just wants me to fix the sniffles!' Tigerpaw could tell that Volepaw was holding in a snicker he probably thought the irony was hilarious.

"There's no time the gathering will start soon he will have to stay here," Tigerpaw said sadly. Fawnpaw looked sad that she would have to go to the gathering without her brother.



Juniperpaw of Sunclan



Juniperpaw yawned. She had just gotten back from a patrol with Falconpaw, Speaklebreeze, and Russetleaf. It was such a bore. Moonclan had stayed on their side of the border, kittypets were behaving, and even twolegs were staying away. Not to mention Falconpaw bragging about how ‘cool’ he is, nearly the whole time. After a while, Speaklebreeze had finally sent him back early for breaking her concentration with his yelling. Juniperpaw could hear Starlingstar call a meeting. "Now I will be picking who will go to the Gathering." Starlingstar meowed calmly; she was a wise leader who had helped the clan though some rough times. "Okay Koipaw, Mintpaw, Smokepaw and Juniperpaw will be attending the gathering along with Snowdapple, Vinetail, Redwind, Ashleaf and Palethistle." Starlingstar meowed, Juniperpaw was overjoyed at the prospect of attending the gathering. She had been to almost four gatherings and had been looking forward to seeing Eaglepaw again. The tom had made her feel welcome on her first gathering. She had expected all Moonclan cats to be nasty and battle hungry, but Eaglepaw had proved her wrong, he would always let her sit next to him on gatherings and make jokes about the other apprentices. Eaglepaw was her friend from another clan, which made her think about why it was so wrong to have friends in the other clan. Smokepaw quickly brought her back from her daydreaming

"Come on! If you can't walk faster, let me go in front! I don't want to be late to the gathering, you know!" the prickly Tom growled pushing past her.

"What's up with him?" she asked Mintpaw, she usually had to treat Smokepaw as he always got injured so easily

"He lost a fight with a Moonclan apprentice" Mintpaw replied looking downtrodden."They got away, and Smokepaw blames himself." She added before being stopped by Tigerpaw from

Moonclan,

"Come on Mintpaw, Applefrost's waiting for you." Tigerpaw mewed leading Mintpaw to the medicine cat area. Juniperpaw watched Mintpaw go, then went over to look for Eaglepaw, he never missed a gathering and he was such a hard worker when it came to hunting. She spotted Fawnpaw sitting under a tree with Volepaw,

"Have you seen Eaglepaw?" Juniperpaw asked. Fawnpaw always seemed to know where her littermate was.

"He couldn't make it, he is sick" Fawnpaw replied sadly. Juniperpaw wondered what she would do without Eaglepaw at the gathering; Fawnpaw was too sad about her brother to joke with her and Volepaw was a bit too rude for her liking. So she sat down and got ready for the rest of the gathering.

Chapter 2

Tigerpaw of Moonclan




Tigerpaw sat next to Mintpaw while Palethistle and Applefrost chatted. They seemed to be talking about Eaglepaw’s weak immune system. Tigerpaw desperately wanted to listen to their conversation but didn’t want Mintpaw to think he was nosy. Mintpaw was always silent around him and the other Moonclan cats, she always seemed to be scared of him, ’Maybe she's just nervous?’ He thought puzzled by her silence. He looked at Beetlestar; his leader had been pushing to make all apprentices become warriors at only ten moons, of course, Starlingstar thought it was a terrible idea saying that “they aren’t ready” and “they need more training” every time Beetlestar asked. Tigerpaw didn’t want Volepaw becoming a warrior soon. As he would brag about it for moons, Tigerpaw was two moons older than Volepaw meaning he had a decent chance of becoming a full medicine cat before Volepaw became a warrior. Recently kits were being snatched by owls at night, it was a big problem it and seemed typical for the warriors to be talking about what kits got seized. He could hear Spottedfern and Birchcry discussing it near by.

“Hazekit just survived the owl attack but Pearbriar’s still hurt about losing poor Deerkit,” Birchcry told Spottedfern as Tigerpaw started eavesdropping.

“Snowdapple lost her whole litter a half moon ago. One to an owl, another was stillborn, and the other died of illness. Dewheart was so happy she had kits before they all died.” Spottedfern head hung low. Tigerpaw had heard the two of the kits names announced last gathering,

’Fernkit and Dustkit had died so young’ Tigerpaw thought, hoping someone found a way to get rid of the kit stealing owls before the clans ran out of kits.




Juniperpaw of Sunclan



Juniperpaw sat with the elders, “aren't you a bit young for here?” Vultureflight said, his voice old and hard to hear,

’’She probably wants to hear one of your amazing stories,” Lostfoot commented, he had been sent to the elder's den when he lost one of his feet to a fox,

”Nonsense, these young ones hate my rants!” Vultureflight snapped, he was the grumpiest of the elders by far

“Come on,” Lostfoot urged bumping Vultureflight, Vultureflight was about to yell something before being interrupted by Starlingstar

“Sunclan will head back to camp now,” she said ending the gathering

“You go ahead,” Lostfoot said Juniperpaw stood up running to the line for crossing the rocks. The rocks were the safest route through the gorge where they usually gathered. Juniperpaw remembered being scared of falling the ravine when she attended her first gathering. She wondered where Russetleaf was.

‘She must be late.’ She thought crossing the narrow ledge. She didn’t want to be like Twigfur who fell into the ravine a few moons ago and had become a story to keep Apprentices from straying too close to the edge ever since. Juniperpaw hoped he had found peace in starclan, maybe not being a constant reminder of what not to do there. Koipaw pushed past Juniperpaw interrupting her thoughts “Do you mind!” she yelled catching up to him.

”Sorry I-I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he stuttered grooming his tortoiseshell fur in embarrassment

“Why didn’t you say so instead of running off?” she asked. She rolled her eyes seeing him avoiding her eye contact

“I h-have to go,” Koipaw said running off,

‘what’s up with him?’ She pondered before getting back in line.
