About OakClan
OakClan is a hardy and loyal Clan that makes themselves in the low, rolling mountains overlooking a valley. They are both physically and mentally durable, to be able to traverse their hilly territory and to survive the harsh, snowy winters. They are extremely loyal and fiercely protective of their Clan, to the point that they may seem hot-tempered to others, as they will willingly leap into battle in its defense at the smallest of provocations. In other situations, however, OakClan cats are generally easy-going and amiable, especially around members of their own Clan, and especially those of similar ages. This is because, in order for kits to have a better chance of survival, it is customary for all litters to be born in the late spring or early summer, which means all kits play, train, and ultimately become warriors together, which only serves to add to their loyalty to and protectiveness of each other.
Physically, OakClan cats are the largest of the three Clans. This is because of the availability of food in the mountains, the bulk and strength the develop, and because OakClan has an unusually high percentage of bobcat blood. Because of this, many OakClan cats do resemble bobcats in some form or another- tufted ears, stumpy tails, unusually long fangs or claws, shaggy fur, or a bobcat-like color scheme. Besides those features, OakClan cats tend to have long fur and neutral-colored pelts- black, gray, or brown, and rarely bright colors like ginger or white. They are also frequently tabby, dappled, or tortoiseshell, to help blend in with the forest backdrop, though very dark-colored cats may have difficulty hunting in the winter.

Roleplay Rules
Follow the forum rules and ghost rules, which I shouldn't have to reiterate here. Primarily, though, no flaming, spotlighting, or powerplaying.
No mary-sues/gary-stus, and no "-ests." Your cat can be very good at something, but it's difficult to say that they're the absolute best at anything. And they have to have some flaws. Otherwise, how would they get any character development?
Obviously, keep things pg. That means no very graphic descriptions of violence, no foul language, and nothing else that would be considered inappropriate for children.
Try to be descriptive and original. This applies to both behavior and appearance. Obviously, their appearance doesn't always have to 100% realistic, but as long as it's believable it's fine. As for behavior, just keep their personality, values, and reactions consistent. Obviously characters will change over time, or react to some situations differently than expected, but most changes will be gradual and have reasons behind them. Pretty much don't make your character wildly inconsistent and arbitrary.
I reserve the right to reject any players that I don't consider literate enough or to remove players who doesn't adequately follow rules.
If you are gone for more than a two weeks without prior warning, I will remove you and open your characters up for claiming. I will not go chasing you down; liking your posts should be reminder enough.
If you claim a high-ranking position such as leader, deputy, or medicine cat, you must be especially active (check & update at least 6 days of the week, but preferably more). Everyone else should still be active, but as long as you don't trap other peoples' characters and are on relatively frequently, I'm not too concerned about activity.
As for everything else, it's just the usual: please don't leave and never come back; if you're gone for a very long time without prior warning or explanation (probably a month+) you will be deleted; if you break the rules you may be deleted depending on the severity of your offense; please use () [] or something of the sort to separate in-character from out-of-character; no spamming unless you are requesting someone to go somewhere.

The Warrior Code
Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats outside the Clan, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
Do not hunt or trespass on another cat's territory.
Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from outside the Clan.
An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.

Joining
This is a claim-a-cat roleplay, though you will still be able to make your character your own to a degree. Each Clan has a set allegiances list where each cat is given kin, age, and name, as well as four traits: gender, two appearance traits, and one vague personality trait. When you claim a cat, you will create its full description, though you can't contradict any information that's already been given. You could certainly expand on it or make it more specific, but you cannot go outright against it.
In the case of cats who have a mate, you MAY choose to make them no longer be with their mate. However, they still will have been together at one point and any kits from that relationship do remain. You can also choose to give your cat a mate even if they are not listed with one, but the roleplayer of that cat must- of course- agree. You are also welcome to make your she-cat a queen; however, they must announce their pregnancy and move to the nursery during roleplay.
