I feel like I'm stepping into a shooting range here.
Honestly, I feel like one of the few people who dislikes Bluestar. I suppose I'm more neutral + borderline dislike than full-on dislike, but I don't like or love her.
In the first few books, I was in awe of Bluestar. I respected her and she was amazing. I re-read Fire and Ice the other day, and I felt so nostalgic for old Bluestar. I loved her, but after she "went insane" (by the way, that wasn't insanity, I actually believe she had psychotic depression) I began to dislike her; she lost all she was.
But I can't really blame her because I sympathise with her; that's exactly what a mental illness does to you, it changes you.
Oh man, then I picked up Bluestar's Prophecy. I feel like the only one who hated that book. One, the conflict was really forced. Two, the Erins did exactly what they shouldn't do: give their character a terrible backstory where everyone they loved died. Now, it was different for Crookedstar, because he was manipulated and so were his loved ones.
Poor Bluestar, her father never cared (I actually liked that part, cheating is very common in real life and I would like to see more of it in the books) and her mother died tragically by an eeeeevvvviiiilllll medicine cat. And then her sister died! Oh no! And she was right about Thistleclaw (I hate him)? Who would've thought?! She fell in love with a RiverClan tom? How romantic! She had to give up her kits? It was for the greater good!
In StarClan, I'll admit she was back to her normal self and I was pleased that she was at peace once more. But she became so overpowering over every cat and all the other characters and it frustrated me (especially prominent in Po3 and OotS). Oh, and she was always right about everything!
Honestly, Bluestar's Prophecy turned her into a bit of a clichéd character. Far from a Mary-Sue, but definitely cliché. But in TPB, she was great.
Also, please don't kill me.

As much as I liked Bluestar, I can see why you wouldn't like her in BP. It's part of the reason why I was never that huge of a fan of the book.
Also, Stormtail did care, he just wasn't the best at showing it at first and got better over time. He was pretty much the Spiderleg of his time. And another thing, Stormtail also never cheated on Moonflower. For one, cats aren't exactly monogamous creatures to begin with and this is actually shown twice in the series with Smokey and Toadskip having two mates at once. Stormtail and Dappletail were never even mates anyway, but more like best friends. Stormtail truly loved Moonflower and Dappletail ended up becoming mates with Runningwind.

I see. Good point. I liked her in TPB, but not in BP.

•♕• actually bluestar is one of my favorite characters, and i really enjoyed bluestars promise. even though it was kinda over-tragic (but i mean, literally every character in wc is over-tragic) but i feel like her character had more depth/grew and developed more over the course of the series than anyone else, even if it was backwards development. •♔•

Bluestar is actually one of my favorite cats! She is sweet, and was a great leader. Plus, she died defending her clan. I like BlueXOak because I think it's cute

She's not my favorite but I do like her. Bluestar's Prophecy is my favorite super edition.

she's one of my least favourite characters. Her book made her to be so insufferable and plain annoying that I just couldn't like her. She was amazing in TPB, and then she got a Super Edition and was thrown down the drain.

I despise her. For me, she was never the wise and perfect leader that everyone talked about. She was foolish about Tigerclaw and favored Fireheart too much. She was one of the worst leaders ThunderClan had in my opinion.

She was one of the worst leaders ThunderClan had in my opinion. She had a lot of favouritism for him. She was always quite lenient on him and Greystripe, and to be honest, I think Tigerclaw was right to question their loyalty. I'm a bit surprised Bluestar told her secret to Fireheart.

Well,I have mixed feelings about Bluestar. I can understand why she might have trusted Tigerstar when he was in ThunderClan. She watched him grow from a kit to the cat he is now. He showed no sign of disloyalty, at least in Bluestar's eyes. Although I do wish she'd tried to listen to Firestar and Ravenpaw's reasoning. Spoiler if you haven't read Bluestar's prophecy. I have read Bluestar's prophecy. I think she genuinely was a good and loyal cat. She sacrificed her own kits to save ThunderClan from Thistleclaw. Tell me that wasn't a hard decision.
Tigerclaw's betrayal was a huge shock to her, and I can understand why. She never expected it, and her trust in everything, even StarClan, was shattered. She only trusted Fireheart and Whitestorm. Although she really let her Clan down in the last few books of the Prophecies Begin Arc. Just as her Clan needed her most, she gave up on them and practically handed over total control to Fireheart. So I guess I am mostly neutral with her.

I do like Bluestar, but I don't like certain parts of her… For example, I felt like her insanity made no sense within TPB, then too suddenly she's normal again… She had already been implied to have been through a lot, yet completely snapped without warning at a single betrayal?
I feel like BP tried to explain it a bit more by giving the suggestion that she was never mentally stable (seeing a lot of her family die such a young age), but I feel like if her insanity was not such a big thing, that would not be necessary. Even with all that, I feel like she should have ended up a lot worse off than what she actually was (e.g. having something like PTSD or some sort of mental illness in her youth, instead of just having it come almost out of nowhere in a book that does not have a complete backstory.
So I like her character, I just don't like how she was handled in some parts…

Agreed. I like Bluestar! She suffered a lot. Poor her. Wait you agree with me about how I dislike her or you like her??? Sorry Yeah, I know, but the Erins could have done a lot better. They seriously just axed her entire family off for no reason just to give her a backstory. I don't like how they just did the regular "tragic backstory".

Bluestar's prophecy is odd. The bluestar in it is far more emotional than the one in the oa. She still has her valor and strength but she doesn't have her emotional strength. and that was something very defining about her. It casts her dementia in a different light. That could be attributed to her being younger though, and then growing up… There's also a lot of time skips, especially when she becomes later, so maybe she develops the emotional strength and we don't see it... The other thing is that she may not be emotionally strong at all, but instead hiding all of her suffering from her Clanmates and simply giving off the appearance of someone who is emotionally strong… It would make sense if this was the case, given how she broke down near the end of TBP, and now a single betrayal drove her over the edge (if she was never emotionally strong to begin with, she could not handle it)
