First off, Happy Thanksgiving!
Second, I do not have the books with me, besides Leafpool's Wish, so forgive me if I make any mistakes!
Should Spottedleaf have yelled at Leafpool in Leafpool's Wish? I mean, she didn't really give good advice to Leafpool in the first place. "Follow your heart" isn't exactly the answer Leafpool wanted, and she assumed that it was okay to be with Crowfeather. But did Spottedleaf even hint out that she shouldn't be with Crowfeather? No. In fact, right when Leafpool was upset, if I recall, Spottedleaf compared her own feelings to Leafpool's even though she was the one who wanted advice, not how hard it might have been for Spottedleaf if she lived. Spottedleaf said something like "If I had lived, I might have suffered what you are suffering now." Really helpful, Spottedleaf.
It really makes me wonder if Spottedleaf only didn't stop Leafpool from going with Crowfeather so she can 'understand' how she feels. After all, Spottedleaf is also in love with someone she can't have.

Happy Thanksgiving!
And there's yelling, and then there's just scolding, which doesn't always require yelling. If anything, Spottedleaf was doing the latter since there's no mention of her necessarily raising her voice at Leafpool, only that the latter felt the lashing of her tongue. There's also mention of sorrow in Spottedleaf's voice, as well as warning when she said that it was too late for excuses.
That said, I'd say Spottedleaf was right in scolding Leafpool for her mistake... if it weren't for the fact that it was Spottedleaf herself who told Leafpool to follow her heart in the first place. Even then, I guess I can kind of see why she'd be angry since Leafpool still broke two codes, but still...
I don't think it was a trick though—Spottedleaf genuinely cared for Firestar's kits as though they were her own as even stated in her short play and Leafpool was a young cat and was already distracted enough with her thoughts of Crowfeather before she ran away and would've likely always wondered "what could have been" had she said no, even though her heart always belonged to her job more than it did to Crowfeather. Spottedleaf even says that the reason she wasn't more clear was because Leafpool had to know that going with Crowfeather was the wrong choice.
Another thing, part of the reason Leafpool left ThunderClan was also because she thought that Brightheart was taking her job.

I'm just going to echo this and say that it wasn't so much yelling as it was Spottedleaf telling Leafpool to get a hold of herself and face reality... Her heart had always belonged with her family, and with her calling as a medicine cat... Sure, a part of it was with Crowfeather but it wasn't enough... Leafpool was eventually able to realize that, even though it had consequences that she was not unable to undo...
