It has been said somewhere that Needletail is alone, but I don't believe this is the case. I mean, when she left to be with Darktail, it looked like she had friends who followed her.
Needletail really makes me suspicious and I don't trust her at all. I think she's a manipulative brat who can't handle the rules. I mean, I do believe she cares about Violetpaw but manipulating her to join her wasn't right. Needletail betrayed her Clan just because she can't handle the rules. I'm not going to buy her "being alone". If she was really alone, then she wouldn't have had friends following her when she left ShadowClan. I think she lied about that just to gain sympathy from others.

First of all, Needletail never said she was alone, that's just how Alderheart thought And just because she may look like she has friends doesn't necessarily mean she's happy. In fact, she probably feels like the only reason she was liked in ShadowClan was because she brought them Violetkit. And she doesn't really seem to be all that close to any cats besides Rain and Violetpaw. Beenose is dead and it honestly never seemed to me like she and Sleekwhisker were all that close, but more like those two friends who would occasionally hang out and it's kind of implied that she's taken a liking to Rain as well as the fact that Sleekwhisker would look down on Violetpaw just because she wasn't a Clan cat. Needletail even defended Violetpaw from her at one point.
And sure, she had support from the other apprentices, but again, she never really seemed all that close to any of them except for maybe Beenose and Sleekwhisker to an extent. And even then, someone can have friends and love and all that kind of stuff and still feel lonely. Trust me, I should know and I think there have been reports of this as well. I've also noticed that Needletail doesn't seem very close to her parents either, so this may also play a role as well in a series that has focused on family love and familial bonds especially recently and even her own family thinking she was dead after the owl incident couldn't have helped matters either.

I bet she isn't actually friends with the other apprentices, she's just manipulating them like she did to Violetpaw. Maybe that's how Beepaw was "misguided"
