Yellowfang lied to Squirrelflight so she can take in Leafpool's kits as her own. Squirrelflight didn't even want to lie to her Clan, but Yellowfang manipulated her and Squirrelflight was pressured by both her and Feathertail to take the kits.. all because of the mistake that Leafpool shouldn't have made in the first place.
It may have been the right thing to do, to save the Three, but would you have forgiven Yellowfang? We saw how miserable she was in BrS's comic (manga, I personally don't call them 'comics'). Squirrelflight was depressed because she thought she couldn't have kittens.
I noticed that Yellowfang seems to make cats.. well, miserable. Now, it was for good reasons, however cats were stressed out by her choices. Even Spottedleaf was angry with her once. Remember when she told Jayfeather to tell Cinderheart who she really is? Cinderheart was stressed out after Jayfeather showed her, and Yellowfang was yelled at by the whole of StarClan.
I really think Yellowfang should either just fade away or back off from everyone's lives. I understand that Yellowfang's been stressed from the prophecy to save the Clans, but the choices she's been making lately haven't really been the greatest ones. I personally wouldn't forgive Yellowfang for lying to Squirrelflight, even if it was for the best, because she's affected her because of her lies and made Squirrelflight feel miserable, not that she's already had enough of a hard life already after losing everyone except Leafpool.

I'm not sure whether I would have forgiven her but keep in mind that all of StarClan was behind this. Yellowfang herself was shown to be hesitant in lying to the Original Three and was even the one who told Jayfeather the identity of his father. The fact that she also attacked Bluestar for it shows she didn't agree with the plan at all and may imply that the entire thing may have in fact been Bluestar's idea and Feathertail did imply that Leafpool's life just would've gotten harder had she told the truth sooner, with the kits living in shame and exile.
While she didn't confirm it, Vicky said that she thinks Firestar might've banished Leafpool and given that LW takes place not long after Mousefur called a Clan meeting to discuss the issue of ThunderClan being "too mixed", I can see why StarClan would've at least been concerned since news that their medicine cat had given birth to a cat from a rival Clan and former ally soon after trying to run away with him would've at least divided the Clan had Leafpool come clean sooner. Either way, I doubt cats would've been as sympathetic as they were when the secret was actually revealed had it come out much sooner.
Also, keep in mind that Leafpool had actually considered running away with her kits at one point during Leafpool's Wish and Squirrelflight was very hesitant in taking in her sister's kits until she was told that she was barren and even then she was still hesitant until Feathertail persuaded her. Yellowfang also mentions that Squirrelflight would make a far better mother to the kits than Leafpool.
Maybe Yellowfang was right in lying to Squirrelflight when she did, as terrible as it was. It at least explains why she did it.

I used to love Yellowfang, but she down right ruined Cinderheart's character for me, and then put Squirrelflight through so much crap. I wouldn't forgive her.

I have found that it is easier to forgive than it is to hate someone who has done you wrong. We all will have hurt someone that we love during our life. Take the time and try to walk a mile in the shoes/paws of the person or cat (as this is about cats)that has hurt you or someone you love. Just think what would have happened to the clans if the two had not been born or accepted by ThunderClan.

Well, I can't know what I'd do in Squirrelflight's position, but from a reader's perspective, I find it easy to forgive Yellowfang.
Think about this, for a second. Yellowfang of all cats knows what Leafpool was going through. Yellowfang gave birth to forbidden kits all alone only to watch two of them die instantly. She had to give the survivor to a bitter cat who didn't love or properly care for him, and watched him grow up alone and full of hate.
Don't you think this cat would do just about anything, even lie and manipulate, to avoid letting that happen to a fellow queen and her kits?

Well, I can't know what I'd do in Squirrelflight's position, but from a reader's perspective, I find it easy to forgive Yellowfang. Think about this, for a second. She had to give the survivor to a bitter cat who didn't love or properly care for him, and watched him grow up alone and full of hate. I would forgive her, mainly for the same reasons others have mentioned. Even if lying is wrong, they were in a difficult situation, and if Squirrelflight had not taken in the kits, who knows what would've happened to them…

No I wouldint. Why couldint Leafpool pull a Bluestar/Oakfur ? ( pretending to find them in the snow and bringing them to camp) That wouldve been so much easier. If Squirrelflight didint go throught Yellowfangs garbage about not having kits . Then she would have healthier kits ( and two of them wouldint die )
