All of these characters have all at some point either challenged the current Alpha or somehow obtained the chance to become leader. Which of these characters would have been a good leader?
I think present-day Bella would actually have made a good leader. She was once and still sort of is careless and stupid, but I feel like she has evened up in The Gathering Darkness.
Your thoughts?

I think Bella has a lot of leader-like qualities, but she often acts based on her temper before she thinks. I think it's important for leaders to think before they act. Therefore, I chose Fiery because I think he was strong and selfless.

He so obviously lived by the same principles, and would by no means have a more gentle or less savage hierarchy. Though he would have been better to the Fierce Dogs that chose to side with the Wild Pack. All in all, though, Bella was definitely emotive at the time she challenged Sweet, and still is. And given that she still needs time to develop and thus is not very consistent, she would not be a good leader; too risky of a choice. I'll go with Fiery as well, as I find Sweet too biased and Lucky too easily distracted.

I don't know how far you read so that's all I'll say about Bella. That's true, Fiery respected Alpha a lot. But I remember reading about him in Moon's side story, and he seemed so gentle and so understanding when nobody else in Alpha's pack was going to accept Moon. I think it's because of that story that I think Fiery would be a compassionate leader, but from what we know about him via the main story, we know he would be strong and brave, too.

I've read all of the books so far. Hm. I forgot about Moon's Choice. I definitely agree with everything you said. Fiery isn't exactly perfect—gruff, sort of reserved—but he'd make a better leader than the other three. Why? He seems reasonable. He was innovative and showed reason in Moon's novella, which deserves respect.
