TITANOMACHY Long before the Greek gods came to be, Gaea, the Earth, and Uranus, the sky, produced the first generation of titans. Among these was Cronus, who plotted with his mother to dethrone Uranus. Cronus then ruled with his eleven siblings, serving as the "king" of the titans. However, he was warned that a son of his would overthrow him in the same way he had overthrown his own father. Seeking to keep his power, Cronus swallowed each of his children. Or so he thought. In fact, his wife Rhea, angry at Cronus for this act, hid one child away. This child grew up to be the mighty and powerful Zeus. After saving his siblings, Zeus convinced them to begin a rebellion against the titans. A war raged for ten years between the elder and younger divine beings, until finally the Olympic gods won. All the titans were imprisoned in Tartarus, save for Atlas, who was to hold the heavens apart from the earth. Prometheus and his brother Epimetheus were spared, as they sided with the gods in the war. Oceanus, who did not participate in the war, was also spared and allowed to continue ruling over his watery domain.
Later in time, Prometheus and his brother were tasked with creating a new era of man, as well as all animals. Epimetheus freely gave out traits such as fur, claws, and wings. By the time he got to man, there was nothing left to give. Prometheus then stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. He showed man how to use this gift, and so metalwork began, among many other practices the titan taught to his creations. Prometheus also managed to trick Zeus into eating the bones and fat during feasts, leaving the meat for man. Zeus had Prometheus chained to a rock in the Caucusus, where every day an eagle would eat his liver, only for it to regenerate in the night. As another peace to punish Prometheus and humanity, Pandora, the first woman, was gifted to Epimetheus, along with an infamous box, or rather jar. As she inevitably opened it, gifted with curiosity by Hermes, she released all evils into the world. This permanently separated humans from gods, ending the golden age of man. For centuries upon centuries, humans have worshiped the divine beings. They were as real as anything could get, and influenced every aspect of life. As humans advanced and began to forget about their gods, the divine rulers grew bitter with their charge. The titans were released eventually, but the gods, who had taken on physical forms, placed restrictions on their abilities. The titans also took on physical forms, although theirs were only marginally stronger than an average human. And their great, influential powers on the world? They might as well have been gone. Many titans learned to blend in with the human population, learned their struggles, related to and felt for them. Meanwhile, the gods were as arrogant as ever, and their anger towards mankind only grew. Crime rates flew, volcanoes suffocated forests, tidal waves wiped away cities, earthquakes toppled mountains. To the humans, it appeared as though the world was ending. Welcome to the End Days.

THE WORLD During the rule of titans, it was the golden age of man. There was peace and harmony for all. Starvation was nonexistent, humans lived for a very long time with an ever youthful appearance, and died painlessly in their sleep. They would live on as guardians after death. These humans were said to have mingled and lived amongst the divine beings.Imagine that Greek mythology was real. Definitely, absolutely, real. Over time, people forgot about this, and about the gods. They simply went on with their lives in ignorance, and found new explanations for things such as thunderstorms, earthquakes, etc. The world is similar to how ours is, only a little further into the future. Space travel, as seen in sci-fi movies, isn't quite a reality, but there is still plenty of technology. Over the past decade, many catastrophes have fallen on the earth, and are still continuing. This has caused many "safe haven" cities to became overpopulated. Specifically, this rp will take place in the United States, in Aegis City, a large Pacific Northwest city that has grown from Seattle. It is home to several gods and titans. Don't worry, it's still rainy. In fact, it rains even more now, thunderstorms being no stranger to the city. Some few crazy people even try to harness the lightning bolts for energy. Aegis City has some incredible verticality to it, with wildly winding stairs leading from store to store stacked upon each other, especially in the west. In the rich east, it becomes a real life, picturesque concept of sustainable living, reaching high in the sky.Points of Interest Aegis City;; A designated Safe Haven City, and one of the oldest ones. It is seperated socially with the lower class in the west, nearest to the water, the middle class in the middle, and the wealthy class to the east, furthest inland. It is almost always stormy, with clear, sunny days being a treasure. Although industrial, there is still plenty of nature around the city, especially evident in the east. Massive greenhouses dot the city, as well as a few large animal farms. The city supposedly has functions to protect its inhabitants from the dangers of the end days.Zeus' Wrath;;A small, inviting little bar located in the western slums, a floor up off the ground. It's jokingly named for the thunderstorms over the city, run by Cora Smith. It is decorated with a multitude of flowering plants, tungsten light bulbs on stringers, and trinkets from decades past. The owner must be some sort of collector. It's only one room large besides the bathrooms, with a room in the back where Cora lives.Finland;; Finland is rather small compared to the towering buildings that fill the rest of Aegis City, several stories shorter than most. The two towers that comprise the main buildings of the park provide ample room, as verdant terraces wind around each of the structures to provide space for larger outdoor exhibits. Glass footbridges traverse the space between the two sleek structures like strands of a spiderweb, moving up and down between outdoor exhibits and winding around the buildings. While the outdoor terraces are home to larger animals, the inside of the buildings features massive tanks that are home to a multitude of brightly colored fish, as well as an aviary that runs from ground level to the rooftop dome of one of the buildings, the staircase upwards spiraling around massive boughs within.
THE UNIVERSE The Greek gods and titans are both real, living, breathing beings that have taken on physical forms and live among humans. However, the gods retain all their powers, while the titans are severely restricted in theirs. For example, while Poseidon may be able to raise tidal waves a city away, Oceanus must be touching the body of water to affect it, and use up significantly more energy to even begin to create anything like that. Both are unkillable by normal, human means, only able to be harmed by equally as divine power. You are already aware that the gods are angry they aren't being treated how they deserve. This is causing what most humans have dubbed "the end days," or the end of the world. Catastrophe is not uncommon, and no doubt, soon enough the gods really will end the world. This is where the titans come in. Prometheus has rallied the titans enough that they want to try and fight back, to regain their power, and prevent the destruction of humanity. So he came up with a plan. The titans would finally follow Prometheus' advice of using trickery to win. And oh, what a trick they have.
A Trick Up Their Sleeves In a final attempt to crush the Olympian gods, Rhea, angry that her children had been imprisoned, bore her final child with Tartarus. This child was Typhon, the father of all monsters, and a terribly hideous, immensely powerful monster that was so large, it was said his head brushed the stars. Unfortunately, he was killed by a thunderbolt thrown by Zeus after all other gods had fled. But perhaps his power lingered on somewhere... Prometheus took an ordinary switchblade, what remained of Typhon's power, and channeled that power into the weapon. He enchanted it for a very specific purpose: to kill the Olympian gods. Sigils representing the twelve gods glow upon the blade, waiting for blood to dim their light. The blade functions normally, for the most part. Except it can change shape, growing larger into a full sword. It can also heal its owner. By pressing it into the wound, it will "burn" the injury off, which basically means it will heal it enough for the owner to keep on fighting, although it can take a considerable amount of time, not to mention the pain involved. Prometheus searched around. He had a weapon, now all he needed was someone who could wield it. He tried many times. Like, a lot. But no one ever seemed to get the darned thing to activate. The blade needed the right champion. Until it finally found it. And that's where our story will begin.

THE PLOT The gods have been ruining the world, and the titans don't like that. They want their rule back, their power, in order to save the world. So Prometheus enchants a switchblade with the power of Typhon, which the blade is aptly named, and searches for a champion of the titans. A mortal who is good enough to save the world. He finds that in an unassuming young adult named Jules, who stumbles upon the blade in his clothing after finishing a film shoot. Later, Jules meets a strange man at a bar who has an unusually large amount of knowledge about this weapon. Jules, naturally, is a bit freaked out and flees outside, where a lesser god attacks him. As if the blade takes over, he soon finds himself standing above a pile of bones and fat and dust. Finally this man, Prometheus, explains his purpose more clearly. Jules is, for all intents and purposes, now serving the titans to help save humanity and kill off the twelve Olympian gods so the titans can be restored to their rightful place of power. But are things so black and white, so easy?HELLO THERE So hey, I'm bigbadwolf, call me wolfy. Recently, I've been very interested in the discourse between the greek titans and greek gods. More specifically, in how the titans are always painted in a negative light, having done significantly less awful things than the gods. So after a lot of tossing around of ideas, and a weird incident where I randomly found a switchblade in my clothes, this was spawned. I hope my repetitiveness has made the plot pretty clear. The world is pretty cyberpunk, with plenty of nature still abundant, even in the cities. I imagine the more city-like areas to be similar to a cowboy bebop type landscape, if that makes sense. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
This is a small group rp, and I will be accepting a total of eight people. excluding myself. I expect literacy, ten lines or so per post. I'm not a huge stickler for this, seeing as I'm lazy and don't always like writing a lot, myself. I'd prefer quality over quantity. If you want to write more, feel free. Obviously, no godmodding, no powerplaying, etc. Please be kind to people, and have fun. If you ever have any ideas, PLEASE talk about them. I'm bad at keeping things interesting, help me out. ALSO, only one main character per person. A main character would be a "squad" member. If you plan on joining, please have a small paragraph including: role of character (i'm trusting y'all with this), name, age, titan/god/human/etc., gender/pronouns, short description

THE SQUAD The Chosen One Jules Lachance is a twenty-three year old actor living in Aegis City. He identifies as non-binary, and goes by he/him pronouns. Jules lives a perfectly normal life, with a home in the western part of the city, frequenting a local bar jokingly named Zeus' Wrath, after the terrible storms that rage almost daily above the city. He is 6' and enjoys brightly colored clothing, often found wearing tank tops and crop tops. His hair is bleached silver, with a vague purple tint to it, being medium length and fluffed into a messy fohawk. Add in some well-tanned skin, bright blue eyes, and a few beauty marks, and Jules is what most would call "cute." Not to mention he smiles a lot, and almost always looks approachable. He is a nerd for video games and music, enjoying parties and hang outs with friends. Which he unfortunately does not have many of. He isn't a huge fan of intense danger, with a pretty cynical view on the end of the world for someone so chipper. He finds Typhon in his clothes after a shoot one day, which leads him on a crazy journey of becoming the Titans' Champion.
Prometheus Prometheus is a male titan currently taking residence in Aegis City. Prometheus looks quite a bit like he stepped right out of the 50s with a faux-greaser aesthetic: his auburn hair is slicked back, accompanied by a leather jacket with flannel underneath and cuffed jeans and red converse to boot. A striking feature that is usually hidden away behind reflective sunglasses are his eyes, which aren't quite eyes at all, but two small flames that sit where eyes should be. Dark, expressive eyebrows peek up over the top of his sunglasses and he often wears some kind of smirk. His height falls a bit short, somewhere around 5'4" but he has a muscular build to compensate, but really is not that intimidating at first glance. In all, the essence that Prometheus appears to give off is firmly in the 'douche' category, but he is generally far from one. Being the protector of mankind and the fire delivery boy, he has a sort of Arthur Weasley-esque curiosity with humans and their culture, which likely explains his outdated appearance. You could probably chalk him up as a fanboy, but his fascination is a lot more than surface level. With a cheerful and friendly attitude, he is fiercely protective of humans and this motivation drives him to betray the gods once more and guide Jules on his quest to annihilate them. Although he is fairly nice, he has a certain dangerous edge to him that might be traced to a source of bitterness from sort of getting tortured for a pretty long time. He is also surprisingly clever and tricky, weaving his way through situations with a grace that is often masked by a sheepish and smug bravado. In short, he is a fuzzy, dangerous little fireball.
The Self-serving Fish Oceanus is a male titan that stands at around 6'11" with a tan complexion and dark blue eyes the color of the sea. His hair is a dark chocolate brown color that usually is around chin length but he keeps it pushed back with a headband, the stretchy kind that goes all the way around. The titan usually wears a hoodie that's a dark blue color and has "Super Soaker" on the front of it, jeans that are a little tattered and torn at the bottoms, and to top it all off he wears flip flops. He looks lazy, almost like he doesn't want to try too hard on anything. He has one piercing in his left ear, a simply silver ring. He's lazy, he'd rather prefer that others do things for him. He wants his ocean back, feeling like Poseidon has messed it all up. The titan tends to be laid back, preferring to really just go with the flow for most things. Nothing really seems to get him mad, until you mention the sea that he lost. It's one of the few ways to get him into gear and actually do something or be ready to take action. That and the chosen one, he's more inclined to do something for Jules, heck he'd do anything for Jules. Oceanus tends to look out for himself only though, if it benefits him he's more inclined to do something or help someone out. He's a decently cheerful guy who does his best to be optimistic about everything. Oh, and not even all the water on earth can quench the thirst he has, and it doesn't help he and his wife decided to "get modern" and have an open marriage. He claims that he's Jules' biggest fan, but it's never quite clear as to whether he's referring to Jules' position of saving the world, or referring to his occupation and when asked he does a number of things to avoid answering the question. He also thinks bubblegum is the greatest thing ever and can be seen chewing some and blowing bubbles with it.
The Herc Jerk Billie Wyndham is a twenty-eight year old woman living and working in Aegis City. She works as a zookeeper in the eastern quarter of the city, but returns to her apartment in the west every night. When not working or sleeping, she's often found training at a small gym a few buildings over to practice for her next match as an amateur mma fighter. When not in her work uniform, she prefers comfortable casual clothes, with thick scarves, combat boots, and lots of tans and browns. Her dark blonde hair falls down to the middle of her back and frames her round face. The small scar on her jaw and the slightly crooked nose from a well-aimed blow make it very clear that she's someone who is no stranger to a fistfight and is more than willing to brag about her victories. She stands around 5'5" and is firmly in the strawweight category, though she is ripped and hits well above her weight class However, she's not quite certain whether this is due to the many hours of training or the fact her father is Heracles. Ambitious, driven, and headstrong, she can be a force of nature when you get in her way. She's generally an optimist who is completely sure that she can do anything. It takes a lot to discourage her from an idea, as she often brushes aside logic and just follows her gut. She'll do anything to get what she wants and will jump at the slightest opportunity to get one step closer, no matter how long of a shot it may be.
The Heat Bringer Ikaika Keahi Koa is a male demigod, a son of Hephaestus. He stands at a taller-than-average height at 6'2" and would appear to be your average, late twenty year old guy that hit the gym on a regular basis. Typically he wears button up long-sleeved shirts and well fit jeans, along with a beanie pulled down enough to cover his brown hair entirely, which has a tendency to ignite when he gets worked up, which never actually sears his hair or skin. Considering Ikaika's nature, this happens quite frequently. He's firmly believes that violence can solve nearly everything, and when there is no problems, he looks to start one. Making rash decisions is not an uncommon thing for him, but the remarkable part of this is that he manages to push through regardless of whatever hole he digs himself. The man packs quite the punch, and with a high pain tolerance, he finds himself in a lot of brawls. He is a glass blower, which is pretty ironic considering the care required to properly perform that task. It is also the result of many small scars that occupy his arms and face due to glass shards cutting him after shattering them aggressively into other things after a failed attempt. Aside from inherently being a troublemaker, he is rather easy to work with if one has a generous amount of patience. This stubborn, short tempered guy will try relentlessly to prove whatever he thinks is right.
The TBD Elle is a young demigod, born from the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, and a mortal man. Elle is very peaceful and prefers wise words over foolish actions. She takes pride in being a demigod and hopes that one day she could make a legacy much like her mother's. She is rather short, with a curvy build and tan skin, she has dark curly hair that she keeps short and neat at her shoulders. She has dark eyes and full lips with a rather beautiful complexion about her. Elle is brave and isn't afraid to stand up for herself and her friends if it comes to the bone. Her kind but firm heart has guided her through the toughest points of her life but she keeps a strong chin. Elle wears a soft black shirt with a deluded smile face, tucked into high-waisted denims shorts. She wears black knee high socks and sun flower patterned shoes. She has a nose piercing and a small daisy tattoo at the base of the back of her neck.

Both, kind of. If a person chooses to rp a Titan, they get to make them, however, they are heavily based on the Titans of Greek mythology

Have you ever wanted to take a drill to your face while listening to wonderful Christmas music? because that's how I feel right now ...no? And I feel like that would be rather dangerous? or, if in a movie, considered artistic and fascinating due to the juxtaposition of incredible violence and music that represents youth and innocence.
