However, if Bramblestar left Squirrelflight for her, I would have been angry with him. But I will say this - Bramble X Jessy did have a little bit of development. At first, Jessy didn't trust Bramblestar, but later on we got to see him training her how to hunt and fight. They both told each other how they felt about their homes, and Jessy asked about the lake.
My problem with this couple though is that Bramblestar trusted Jessy right away and even accepted her plans. Squirrelflight was right to be suspicious. Bramblestar barely knew her! What if Jessy was really planning to betray the Clan?
I still don't like how Jessy tried to be closer to him, since she dragged her nest next to Bramblestar's and even touched noses with him like they were mates. But I don't really have a problem with how they developed the couple. I do like feisty cats, so if course I don't mind Jessy. It only bothers me when Bramblestar trusted her right away, and that Jessy tried to be closer to him.
Jessy is okay, but she was still useless to the story and was only there to make Bramblestar realize that he loved Squirrelflight. I think they would have been fine as best friends, but I wouldn't be okay if Bramblestar got together with Jessy. He doesn't know her enough, and he had more history with Squirrelflight. I like Jessy, but I am kind of glad she's gone, otherwise she would have been thrown away as a useless background character like what they did with Frankie and never bother to use them again except when they have their hot-headed moments.
