The air was relatively cool, breezes sweeping throughout the city streets the sun began to slump down, falling down under the horizon ever so slowly. The remaining beams of sun filtered through the city's blocks, partially illuminating what was left of them.
There was no one to be seen. Cars were abandoned, doors to buildings were left open and articles of clothing and trash were thrown around as sprinkles are on a pastry. The sense of emptiness was surreal, and other than the small portion of wildlife that had begun to encroach on these grounds, there was nothing but the lifeless buildings that walked like giants above everything below them.
A younger man emerged from one of these leviathans-of-a-structure, a leather jacket covering the upper-half of his body while he wore thick jeans and tennis shoes to keep the cold at bay. He had a sports backpack on as well with simple, worn textures on it. The sewing in some places was slowly coming undone, making the bag expendable at this point as it was slowly falling apart.
He walked on the streets with a confident look on his face, yet his stride told a different story. His steps were short and he walked slowly, as if he didn't know where he was going, and every now-and-then he'd stop and look around.
