opinion of needletail ??

I haven't read the books yet but from what I'm hearing from people I don't like her I'm in hate right now on her

Dislike, I find her to be too antagonistic and manipulative.

I love her as a character. Needletail has a new and interesting personality. She's essentially an extreme example of teen rebellion. She's a complex anti-villain/hero (which one remains to be seen). However, I agree that Needletail is annoying. Neutral-like.

I absolutely loved Needletail in The Apprentcies Quest, I liked her personality and I shipped her with Alderpaw/Alderheart. She had a very stubborn personality, but as soon as i read Thunder and Shadow, things went WAY out of hand. She was extremely rude towards, basically everyone in Shadowclan, including Rowanstar. She manipulated Biolet into staying with her when Shadowclan was driven out. And I'm suprise Violetpaw decided to stay, as she basically just saw Needletail claw Twigpaws ear. I now think she is an absolute lunatic and annoying, i just want Rain to die so Needletail can relaise something and then Needle x Alder will become canon.

We still don't have enough evidence that Needletail is an actual villain, though. IMO, she's just a character who can't handle rules.

Needletail in a nutshell.

For me I don't hate her because she's a bad guy. I hate her because she has an unlikable personality and no redeeming traits and her driving force is boring. She's basically a teenager who rebels because she's bored of the good life she's been given, and thinks she knows better than everyone else. I hate that and I find it stupid. I also don't buy the excuse that she's lonely in ShadowClan, considering when she left her mother, aunt, and several of her best friends followed her.

At first, I like her because of her sassy personality… Then I started hating her because of how rebellious, manipulative, and uncaring she is… I wouldn't be surprised if she was a villain, because she's showing all the traits of turning into one, and in a realistic manner at that… Not to mention she's so good at manipulating others that she gets a large force behind her, that even the Clan Leader can't stop her…

And while she does mention being lonely and angry at her Clan, she doesn't make any effort to solve those problems… The friend she makes in her side story she doesn't stay with, and the one other friend she makes in her own Clan, she starts using and manipulating. She never makes an effort to have actual, healthy, relationships (Alderheart being debatable, but they don't stay together).

I have to wonder if her being lonely and vulnerable is all an act, so she can get more people near her to manipulate them… Considering what she did with all the apprentices, and turning the clan against Rowanstar, it's not entirely impossible that this is the case…

And like people I've mentioned, she has no regard for rules… She either just doesn't care or doesn't understand the concept of rules and laws help keep others safe… Either way, it just makes her more unsympathetic…

I don't think she would be scared, but I don't think she would necessarily enjoy it either. Brokenstar’s reign had rules, but they were just different ones. For example, the apprentice rule was changed so that kits train at three moons old, but they still had to learn the things that all apprentices learned. Rules were changed so there was focus on fighting, and feeding the warriors first, but that was still a rule that was strictly enforced. And there were rules on what could be done during attacks, such as stealing others’ kits or being allowed to kill outside of self-defense.

If anything, I could still see her and the other apprentices rebelling, because what they affectively want is a world with no rules, and Brokenstar’s reign terrified the cats so much because it was a world with different rules than what they were used to…

In fact, with her manipulative tendencies, I could see her manipulating Thunderclan and the others to help them, and then become a worse leader than Brokenstar ever was… And then she could use that manipulative and use that trait amass so much power that almost no one could stop her…

The idea is that I could see her presenting the new rules, or lack thereof, in a way that's appealing to the warriors. For example, one could say that if the apprentices trained younger, they could learn more in the long run if they became warriors at the same time. Or if apprentices could name themselves and not have mentors, they would have more freedom, and learn how to be independent.

Arguments like that, ones that are made with reason, would make a reign like Brokenstar’s succeed. Needletail’s so good at acting like a nice person (something which Brokenstar lacked completely, keep in mind) that I could see her making a tyranny succeed with reason and falsely being nice. It effectively how she got Violetpaw to be so loyal to her, along with all the other apprentices that rebelled. It's not out of the question to think that if she became leader during Brokenstar’s time, she'd run a dictatorship under everyone's noses and no one would suspect anything until it's too late…

Makes good fan fiction fuel…

Even in TAS she doesn't nessesarily seem like a villain though, she doesn't fit in the alignment. 

Breezepelt is a weird name. Might as well name him Fartpelt.

Needletail just seems like a mess right now. She seems to have no long-term goals and is stuck in her search for immediate gratification, independence from rules and regulations... and freedom from basic morals. Her life right now has no structure- and that could go really badly for her once Darktail gives her the opportunity to start killing.

Until she stabilizes herself, I honestly see her going off the deep end. She needs to stand for something- Violetpaw, her family, idc... even Rain. As long as she's in the yolo state she is in now, she's neither a hero or a villain- she's just existing.
