The reincarntion thing doesn't even make sense. Other than magical knowledge with herbs, the reincarnation thing was pointless if the reincarnated can't even control her new host body

The reincarnation thing made no sense. In Sunset Cinderheart is said to be a reincarnation of Cinderpelt. In Po3, she randomly becomes a tabby, when she was originally a Cinderpelt lookalike. THEN, OoTS changes the whole situation to possession. It makes no sense, it's contradictory, and is a blatant example of author favoritism. If Cinderpelt got reincarnated due to her crappy life, why not Mosskit, who barely even had a life? Why not Swiftpaw, who died tragically at a young age? Why not Longtail, who became an elder due to a limiting disability? At least Cinderpelt was able to contribute to her Clan.
That isn't to say I don't like them . . . I do. I just don't like the reincarnation drama.
Also, with the three; there was no reason to have them be reincarnations. The only function that served was to create a filler adventure for Jayfeather to discover that in. At least it was an actual reincarnation.

The whole reincarnating thing is actually bulls**t
Alright, aside from all the things you said about it being confused, the thing about being med cat not being her destiny is honestly bulls**t. Eveything what happens in destiny. It obviously wasn't Cinderpelt's destiny to be a warrior. She got injured. It was meant to be, unless it was a crappy excuse.
Cinderpelt lived a happy live. Not exactly what she wanted, but she found happiness. What about Snowkit? What about all the Missing Kits? What about all of the kits that didn't even take a breath before the died? Don't they deserve to be reincarnated before a cat that lived relatively happy life? What kind of logic is that?

I always got the idea that Cinderpelt was a restless spirit and secretly unhappy with her medicine cat life… For example, there's the fact that she loved Firestar, but knew they couldn't be mates and never secretly stopped wondering what would've happened if things had been different… There's also the fact about her stunned reaction about dying young… And then there's how she takes the idea that she'll never be a warrior… I don't think she takes it that well, and I think she buries a lot of her emotion about that…
Basically, we can assume that it was not Cinderpelt’s destiny to become a medicine cat, but it may have been the destiny of other cats (like young kits) to die… Warriors focuses so much on destiny it's almost annoying... For once, I wish someone openly defied their destiny by choice and decided to shape their own life… And it is mentioned that Cinderpelt’s spirit is only possessing Cinderheart… It was just a thought to be reincarnation until it was revealed what really happened…
As for the Three, I have no idea why those three cats were reincarnated when no one else was, but unfortunately the Erins give us no answers.

I think they should have never done the reincarnation thing, and just let Cinderpelt be happy in StarClan. She deserved that. Not to be caught up in a tangle of mess with Cinderheart, who freaked out about it for a bit.

I don't mind that Cinderpelt of all cats was supposed to get a second chance (after all, Cats of the Clans/The Ultimate Guide says the reason for this is because she was supposed to be a warrior and StarClan didn't see coming that she'd be so badly injuried that she couldn't be a warrior anymore - though I have no idea how they couldn't see that and stuff be eh I'll take it, better than no explanation), I just hate that the supposed reincarnation became a possession (though I have to add here that as far as I know it was never officially said that it became a possession, it's basically still a reincarnation that actually works like a possession).
As others have said before me, that whole "second chance" thing was so pointless because Cinderpelt was just trapped inside of Cinderheart's body along with Cinderheart's soul. It also doesn't help that The Last Hope depicts Cinderpelt as relieved as soon as she was able to leave Cinderheart's body.
---
Long story short, I could accept this whole Cinderheart/pelt arc, if the Erins would confirm something like Cinderpelt let her second body develop its own soul (because she's not the kind of cat that is greedy and it would fit her character) which ultimately led to Cinderpelt's soul to not be in control of her body but instead Cinderheart's soul is now in charge.
If this is what happened the whole arc is still more or less pointless, but at least it would make sense as to why Cinderheart suddenly became possesed.
