"Stop, Shadowface!" Eaglefrost growls, grasping the skin of my shoulder with his teeth to get me to halt. "You will die if you go!"
I shrug him off. "Then so be it!" I yell. "I will do anything to stop this from happening to my family again."
"This is different," he insists. "You don't have a chance and you know it!"
"But I can try!" I snarl, scraping at the dirt under my claws. "I can get up and fight. And if I fail and all is lost, at least my daughter won't see me as a coward hiding behind a mountain of lies." I take a deep breath in, calming the steam coming off my fur. "I will make sure that she knows that she was loved."
"Live, Shadowface," Eaglefrost hisses. "Live and show her your love in the flesh. There is no need to go off and die for it!"
"I have to try, or else everything that I have endured...everything that I have shouldered would have been for nothing!"
Silence.
"Say it then."
"Say what-?"
"Say to me that you are prepared to die, Shadowface!"
"I am," I say calmly, watching his fierce features crumble into ice. "I am ready to die. I have been ready for a long time.". . .

As long as Tempestkit is fine, I’m fine. Kill the she-kits and let Lionshadow’s Curse rot for all I care. He can’t torture a dead line, especially since he’s peculiar about what lineage he wants anyway...
Ironically, haven’t I been the one saying to have the She-kits die since the beginning?

Heartbreak aside, I love the power, the control Shadowface has in this snippet. I have a feeling that Lionshadow has the fight of his life before him...
(Honestly, the 'I want my daughter to know she was loved' line hit me right in the heartstrings, since it implies (at least to me) that Shadowface and others in her line have felt unloved by their mothers, perhaps due to the nature of their curse...)

I will definitely be merch-ing up once I'm no longer attempting to move across the state XD
As for everyone else -
Thank you for the love! Collaborating with Shadow on this project was an awesome and educational experience. I'm so glad you like it, because countless hours of effort went in, on both sides. It makes my battle with photoshop (which I eventually won) worth it. I'm so proud of the finished design, and I know Shadow is, too.
I can hint that between the two of us, we've brainstormed a number of possible designs for future prints and posters. We're not stopping any time soon!
