Ok guys. REAL TEASER. Enjoy!!!!! CHAPTER 32 - AND A BARGAIN IS MADEJadestar POV There. There he is.It was strange how he simply appeared. He didn’t need a grand entrance or a way to hook himself onto the living realm. It was as if he was just as living as I was. Except, his mostly solid form could change and warp and trick you into seeing that which is not there. A soul. “I’m here, Fallen Warrior,” I said, announcing myself. His back was to me, his black fur gently swaying with the pine branches. The few rays of sunlight turned his coat hues of blue and purple, like bruises. His gaze was locked squarely on the river flowing past, not giving me any heed. “Do you not know my name, Valley Leader?” he replied, his voice steady and cold. I could see his jaw was clenched, as if he had been thinking of something frustrating. I took a step towards him, the pebbles beneath me clinking together. “I do know your name,” I said carefully, not sure what to expect from him. It was strange to see him here like this. I was so used to surprises from him. Usually violent ones. His head turned ever so slightly, his eyeball gleaming in the small pool of sunlight striking from behind him. The planes of his face were sharp and angular; a handsome face, if you could ignore his bloodlust. “Names are important. Even still born kits are given names to take with them into the afterlife.” He said afterlife with a slight roughness, his voice dropping in pitch. He’s distracting me.“Do you know why I am here?” I asked. He finally fully looked at me, his facial features betraying nothing. “Yes,” he said, his evergreen eyes surprisingly shallow looking. There was no glow of a cursed flame. I took a deep breath, feeling the breeze tickle my whiskers. “Then it seems we can get on with it.” He tilted his head, his jaw clenching and un-clenching again. “Perhaps?” I narrowed my eyes. Talking to him was like fighting. You had to be careful, but provide a direct path to cut through. “I’m done running circles with you,” I began, making my voice firm. “I am not here to-” “You are here to make a bargain?” He interrupted, quickly turning his head away from me. I watched him for a few moments as he slowly overturned a pebble at his paws. His touch was gentle, like he was handling a newborn kit. “Yes, I am,” I confirmed. My heart was hammering inside of my chest. I brought up an image of Eaglecurse and Bramblekit and Darkkit. I held them there, and held on. “Well?” He breathed, lifting his eyes toward the sky, keeping his paw splayed out on the pebble he had flipped. “I…am offering my life.” CHAPTER 32 WILL BRING AN END TO JADESTAR'S POV, AND USHER IN THE FIRST STEP IN DISCOVERING THE KEY TO BREAKING THE CURSE...BUT WHAT WILL JADESTAR AND SHADOWFACE SACRIFICE IN ORDER TO GET IT?

Hmm, well all I can say is that's sensei seems like a reasonable voice. xD
The front page says there will only be 40 chapters but is that accurate? Just wondering. I feel like breaking the curse will be a huge an epic journey that may take many more chapters, but that's just me, haha.
also not to bother you and i feel stupid mentioning this but you have me as Larkflower under the fan list still, tho I don't feel like you have to worry about it if ur busy and stuffs

It will probably change. I have everything planned out (what's going to happen in what order) but I have no idea how much "space" it will take up. Chapter 32 should take care of "step 1" of breaking said curse and chapter 33 will be resolving said "step" and searching for next "step" and so on. I know certain "steps" will take at least two to three chapters. And then of course I will probably get led off the rails by my characters. They got to have their "moments" and such.
I think 8 chapters is plenty. Plus technically it will be 41 because of the epilogue. :'D

And I forget sometimes how long your chapters can be so i could totally see you wrapping up by 40/41. But yess I'm so psyched to see the curse be broken by poor Shadowface who never has anything go right for her.
