Yep 1969. By the 5th Dimension. They were big back then. Where was the name of this group when my professor wanted me to list 1960s groups? XDVocals were good as well.  I'm pretty sure it was the original. It said it was from 1969. |

LOL I saw the PM first and clicked the link. x'D Thank you for posting it here too, Kat! This really gives some great insight into Shadowface. A lot of these things I never really gave thought to. When I write her these parts of her personality just manifest themselves as if she's her own person instead of my creation. I'll have to jot some of these notes down.

I was gonna post this earlier, but I had a pretty terrible Friday night...
Anyway, its a new day, so I'm moving forward. I'm putting it behind me.Ok, here we go! I'm not an expert by any means, so feel free to correct me if I've got it wrong ^-^"
For the most part, Shadowface's family tree is pretty accurate, possible and correct! Under the cut, cause it's quite long!
Nighthawk - solid black with white
Unnamed father - cream
Darkestday - solid black with white (canonically solid black)
Cloudspots - solid black with white (affected by vitiligo)
I have no idea what colour Nighthawk's mate was, so I made him cream. As a dilute cat, it means that Shadowface and her siblings carry the dilute gene, meaning Shadow's kits can keep their canon colours and be genetically accurate.
Both Cloudspots and Darkestday get some white on them, since the gene for white spotting is dominant over all other colours.
Cloudspots - solid black with white (affected by vitiligo)
Wanderer - red with white (canonically tortoiseshell)
Shadowface - tortoiseshell with white
Blackheart - tortoiseshell with white
Ospreyflight - tortoiseshell with white
Mintfeather - calico (canonically white with black flecks)
Stormkit - solid black bicolour
Shadow and her siblings are all genetically correct, with the exception of Mintfeather. She inherits both the genes from red and black like the rest of her sisters, making her a tortoiseshell. I wanted her to still be mostly white, so she gets some heavy white spotting, making her a calico.
All kits have white, since the gene for white spotting is dominant over all other colours.
I know Wanderer is a tortoiseshell, but for the purpose of this exercise I changed him to red and white, since the chance of having a tortie tom is one in several thousands, and tortie toms are often sterile. Technically speaking, he could be a chimera (and still pass on the red gene, resulting in tortie daughters).
Shadowface - tortoiseshell with white
Rushstorm - blue tabby with white
Firstborn Son - blue tabby with white
Tempestkit - blue tabby with white
Bluekit - dilute tortoiseshell with white - I can't remember her canon colours, but it might have bene blue tabby?
Pantherkit - black tabby with white
Skykit - dilute tortoiseshell with white
Maskkit - dilute tortoiseshell with white
Coldkit - solid white (dilute tortie underneath)
In making Shadow's father dilute, she then carries that particular gene. Combined with Rushstorm's genes - which are also dilute - you get dilute kits, meaning they can keep their cannon colours!
Tempestkit and the firstborn son (whose name I forgot o.o ) will be blue tabbies, like Rushstorm.
Having inheritors two copies of the dilute gene, Skykit, Bluekit and Maskkit will be dilute tortoiseshells with some degree of white spotting. They may also be calico, if the white spotting is heavy. Coldkit would technically be dilute tortie as well. Any of the she-cats could also be solid white as white can completely 'mask' another colour so that the cat appears solid white while genetically they are whatever colour the white is hiding.
Pantherkit can be black on the account that she doesn't inherit the dilute gene, but gets the gene for 'self' or solid colour from each parents. Blue is the diluted form of solid black, and Shadowface also carries the black gene. Pantherkit would, however, carry the gene for dilute, meaning that any theoretical kits of hers could be solid or dilute, depending on her choice of mate.
Also I found this stunning photo for Nighthawk - I know she should have more white on her, but I couldn't resist those green eyes XD

Pretty good. Finishing up most of my difficult homework and hoping to start of my projects on here or...well, just projects. Been revamping the front page of my RP and planning out a new chapter for Where There's Smoke. Also, working on a lot of art. My feelings always seem to include what I've been doing. XD I've been pretty happy, slightly stressed because of schoolwork and annoyed I couldn't keep up with all my projects and books while I was working on it, glad to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. That's how I've been. How have you been? I'm also listen to the oddest song.  |
