I've been having trouble sleeping lately so I was super happy to get the nap in. And yeah! My wifi connection at campus is horrid, so I went out and got a ethernet cord. It was a good choice.
Life has been just fine! Nothing too exciting, though I'm having a lot of fun developing my novels into human versions whe I get time away from college nonsense. Especially the Forest of Kalmera series that I barely got to write here (due to CotV taking off so quickly) so I've skipped right over the cats and went to the humans and world building. I AM IN LOVE. It's a new world baby and it must be treasured. <3
How about you, crescent?

HEY EVERYONE I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK
If I were to make T-Shirts based off of the human version of the Clans of the Valley series (Curse & Dark Side of the Moon are in it) would any of you want to buy one?
I have an online store on my website. It's just not live because I haven't got anything to sell. But I thought this summer I could start doing more for my books and try to make some money for college. (I will be needing all the help I can get this next coming year...I won't have the support of my parents since my father is retiring.)
So I won't be lying to you guys; if you buy a t-shirt I will be keeping the money and using it for paying for college.
Anyways, what I need to know is, how many of you would want one?
I can't promise a price, but I'd say it be no more than $20. (20 US dollars). Hopefully less. I already got nearly ten people outside of the forums who want one, but I wanted to ask you guys as well since you are all my primary readers.

I am unsure... Since the price of shipping is a whole different ball game to consider, Shadow...

Well, that was the exact opposite reaction to Facebook.
Shipping costs right now are high. Usually I've seen an extra $8 added onto the original price, but it could be more depending where you are. I have thought about this, and I will be trying everything to lower that price, but the reality of it is I need to make a profit, so the price of the t-shirt itself will be a normal price. (What you might find at Wal-Mart or Target). WIX.com has a great online store, but I have to discover HOW to ship my shirts. Once I get more info I will update you guys.
If you don't have the money then don't buy it. That simple. I don't want your money if you need it more, you know? This is supposed to be a fun thing that you guys can be a part of and it's a way for my stories to get out there into a new medium. I just need to know who MIGHT want one so that I know how many t-shirts to make. Or if there's even any real interest in you guys wanting merchandise.

Oops. Sorry if that wasn't the reaction you were hoping, Shadow. Anyway. You bet I want one. I'm very interested in this series, so I'm more then willing to walk around with a t-shirt for it. XD I'll see about buy merchandise, for sure! I need to actually save money now...

Mᴏᴏɴ - - - Yeah, I'm hoping to keep the price for the t-shirt under $20. I have to pay money to make the shirts and get my design on them. I will also probably have to pay to get them shipped. So once again, I need to make a profit for it to be worth it. x'D I'm glad you think it's a good idea! mintedstar/fur - It's fine. It's a realistic reaction. Thank you!

I would like one, Shadow. The demand is definetly here, it's just the realistic prices of shipping, especially with adding eight dollars makes it 28. It could also go up to the thirties depending on where we lived.

Katanaheart - Yes...hmmm, I will do everything in my power to lower the price. I got someone who can color/digitalize the design for me already (found out just last night), and they are doing it for free, so that already takes the shirt down to about $15. THANK GOODNESS. So the next step is buying the t-shirts and getting that design on them. I live in a big city so I know there won't be a problem FINDING a place to do it. It's more of the cost. Plus, I think the more colors you use, the more expensive it will be. If worse comes to worse the design will be mono-colored on a mono-colored t-shirt. That could be a $10 dollar t-shirt right there. And realistically, the cheaper I can make them, the more people would be willing to buy them. So if everything works out for the best, it shouldn't be more than $20 dollars with the t-shirt and the price of shipping instead of 30 something. Mosspool - Great question. I really, really want to ship them outside the U.S. I know Dingoleap lives in Australia, and a few outside readers live in Europe, so I want to try to include everyone, but I have yet to find out how much that would cost me. If it's too expensive, then it would have to wait till I make some more money. I just had to pay about $80 to remove ads from my website. That hurt. ;-;

I don't know if its the same for shirts, but from the research I've done on printing posters/stickers and stuff, I think theres quite. bit you can do to lower the cost of printing, based on what material you choose to print on and if you print in black and white or colour. For posters, I know its more expensive to print on thicker paper stock so I assume it would be the same based on what fabric you print on? I'm not sure.
I do know that it is definitely cheaper to buy in bulk than in smaller amounts, if that helps, and I'm sure the complexity of the design would impact it a bit as well. I'm sure if you ask around, shadow, you'll be able to find a place that offers something in your budget without compromising quality. For reference, I have a couple of custom print t-shirts that I ordered online - the shirt was about $25 and the hoodie was $50, I think - but the quality is amazing. It's so soft, and the colours are brilliant, so it is possible to find stuff that fits your requirements.
$80 to remove ads is painful ;-;

Thanks for the info dingo! :'O It helps me not stress so much. x'D I live in a big city so I'm hoping I can find a good deal. Lots of choices. I was looking at prices for shipping through USPS, and it's alright, not the best.
It is. ;-; I thought it was going to be cheaper since it was half off but NOOOOOO. Why you do this to me, wix? D'x

No worries! I'm glad I can help to de-stress! Good luck! Have you tried looking online? Over here, there are quite a lot of online businesses that do custom printing for posters and stickers, so you might be able to find something. Hmmm, I don't know anything about UPS - we've only got AusPost, and maybe FedEx for some things over here XD
That's frustrating :/

<3 No I haven't looked much online. Besides USPS and just looking for general advice. Oh, geez I haven't even thought of Fedex. We have that here too. Maybe it might be cheaper than USPS. USPS has jacked up their prices as of late, especially when it comes to over seas shipping. My poor college student budget can't handle this. x'D
Thanks mint! :'D Apofiss is an amazing artist, and it's really cool that he lets people use his images for avatars. Not much else of course. He's a growing brand after all.
ANYWAYS ENOUGH WITH T-SHIRT TALK I woke up this morning feeling super sick and sore (for no reason I can think of) and after a visit to the doctor I feel worse. o3o' I might either have the flu (WHY) or a stomach bug (more likely). So, might I ask all of you random questions to brighten my day? ^^'
Yes, Shadz, use us for your entertainment. You clearly don't care about our feelings given that you like to kill off my favorite characters.
I wanted to ask about about all of your thoughts pertaining to Lionshadow and Shadowhunter. As we know or suspect so far in the story, these two were the catalyst that began the family curse in the first place. Depending how far you are, you now know more about their relationship toward each other and possibly even more about their personalities and morals.
So, first off, I want to hear theories for what you all think happened to cause this great rift between the two. (And how the curse got started).
Secondly, I want to know your general thoughts on the two as characters. Are they good/bad characters? Do you feel they lack in some areas, or do they provide and help drive the story forwards? And of course, do you enjoy them as the "bad guy" and the "adviser". (Or do you think their roles are blurred?)
Then, I want to hear on Lionshadow's role as the villain. Is he a good antagonist? Does he challenge Shadowface enough to help her grow and learn, or is he just another minor character with his own mini arc in the story? Do you feel he is a stereotypical antagonist or does he bring something different to the table?
If you guys actually humor me I will be very humbled and excited to reply. o.o'

Alright Shadow, i'll humor you. XD Lionshadow: I've also thought of him as an in-depth character with an interesting path. I can see a lot of his motivation and like to try and think of how he was before he cursed Shadowhunter. I can't really guess what could have drove Lionshadow to curse her, but it sounds a little like Shadowhunter might have led him to believe that she loved him. I am very sure there is more to it than that, however. I enjoy Lionshadow as a 'bad guy' but I also think that the roles are blurred. It's all about point of view and I wonder how he sees what he's doing. As a villain, I think he's perfect. My idea of a good villain is one that you can see something good or a possibility that they once were 'good' in their background. It makes it more real and true to how an actual person would act. He challenges Shadowface and I think that he plays a key role in her development (though I see Shadowface's inner struggles as a larger factor, just because that's what I focus on). I feel like that could be longer... ^^'
