I decided to post this because it's technically the 11th in my timezone, and the 11th is of course, Veterans Day, so, yeah- happy Veterans Day and thank you veterans for keeping our country safe. Woo-hoo.

~ In Flanders Fields ~ ~ By John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) ~ ~ Canadian Army ~
- -
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Please make sure to honor veterans today, thank them for their service, this is the land of the free because of them and how they fought to keep our country alive and to protect us, they are the reason why this country is still here today and still standing.

If anyone has never heard the song version of this poem, it's absolutely beautiful.
