what would it be and why?
(this was one of the icebreaker questions that came up in the "restorative circle" my French teacher does every month where we are required to answer deep, personal questions in front of the class)

I wouldn't. If I could travel through time, I wouldn't do it. If I got back, my mere presence could disrupt everything int he natural flow. I could ruin lives, change the world in ways I could not understand. I could not be responsible for possibly changing lives like that, making some exist and others not exist at all. Going forward, I don't think I'd want to see the future. I don't want to risk seeing how the world had progressed for fear of it being less than what I expected. I'd be too scared to look at myself for the possibility that my life went so downhill. I'd be scared to see it so I wouldn't be motivated to try anymore. What would be the point if it went to shiz anyway, right? Int he way time seems to work in most movies and such, that would cause that future to become reality for me. even if it was good, maybe I would get cocky and not try hard enough, or make a mistake. the worst thing, I'd be scared to not find myself at all, like I died. Forward or back, I would be too scared to go, so I simply wouldn't.

or maybe during the civil war era? I want to see their take on everything. its soo fun

Seeing historical messiness on these things is the worst. Yikes.
Probably the future? No idea when, but honestly, just take me to a better world. I'm sure as hell not going to find that going backwards, and there's nothing for me here, so yeah, take me to whatever point it is that America finally gets its sh!t together.

➳ ~2090s. I want so badly to be able to use VR. It's like my dream. I want worlds all around me. I want it to be commonplace. I want the virtual world to be as integrated into our lives as the real one.

I honestly would go to any time period- preferably more ancient cause there's so much information and research I could gain from it
But I personally would love to the 50s-60s so that I could see what my grandpas, who died before I was born, were like
I wish I could go up an entire line though, and see how long "family traits" stay the same from gen to gen.
It would be hard to choose though. There's so many historical events I would love to see- and laugh at because of how wrong our history books have it.

This is quite hard for me because I'm studying history and find a lot of time periods really interesting... That being said, it might be quite fun to visit Bath during the Regency era! I love the fashion from that era, and, having visited Bath, I'd be really interested to see what it was like when Jane Austen lived there, and to visit the Upper Rooms and see if it's anything like what Jane Austen portrayed in Northanger Abbey.

I would probably just go and live the rest of my life from the late 1930s to 1990s. That would make me eighty something when I die, which I dont think that's too shabby

I'd either go see Mozart conduct one of his own operas or go to the 90's and see what the big deal about such a mediocre era is

Truthfully, send me back to the beginning of the 2000's and I'll be good. As a female, I'd rather not go back any further than the 70's. I mean, I'd love to see what things were like in person, rather than photos, paintings and text books but in terms of living, no thank you, it wouldn't be worth it and most historical eras were nothing like they've been romanticised to be.

It'd be cool to go back and see how wolves/dogs first bonded with humans and everything.
Otherwise, I don't know if I'd want to go back at all. Or to the future. Right now isn't always the greatest either, but.. meh.
