i'm ready to kms. my life has been absolute [insert bad word here] for the last two years, and this is the tipping point. politics usually makes me happy; but this.. it makes me sick and anxious. probably the most anxious i've been in months. and that's saying a hell of a lot.

ok like i'm at least passively suicidal all of the time so i can't fault you for being depressed????? but like, don't kys because of this. seriously. trump is garbage, yeah, but the crap he's promising to do won't happen. it'd have to get through congress, and as far as same-sex marriage goes, he can't overturn the scotus ruling. there's been so much fearmongering and i get it to an extent but?????? seriously this isn't worht it.

As Fleur said, Congress holds more power than the president for the most part. The president is essentially a figure-head. Trump is horrible, but Congress won't easily let him pass whatever he wants--don't forget the GOP is pretty much against him to begin with. I doubt they would let him do as he pleases.

this is more than definitely worth it. i'm not going to get into a whole argument about it, but;
1) Trump isn't the sole reason, he's the tipping point 2) regardless of policy, his homophobic, mysoginistic, racist rhetoric has personally influenced half of the damn nation. half of the nation. him becoming the president empowers those people. that's what i'm worried about. i live in Texas, one of the worst places to live in for progressive LGBTQ+ people like me, and Trump is only making it worse
