"You could've walked away instead of commenting," Lucas pointed out, keeping his arms crossed. "Don't even try about pulling the innocent bull[crap] on me because you are far from it." Never once had he considered Clary to be cute or attractive. He had a general rule about avoiding teenagers if possible for a few reasons. One, he found most of them annoying. Two, they were much younger than him and likely underage. Three, they couldn't drink legally. And four, he found the potential age gap weird.
"You don't know a [flipping] thing about me or what I've been through," he said rather darkly, dropping his arms to rest his left one across his stomach. Just underneath his shirt was a nasty scar, and the story that went along with it explained a lot about his attitude toward life and in general. "Not a [flipping] thing. And I suggest you back down now, because while my parents raised me to never hit a girl, I haven't always listened to the advice they gave me."

"I don't think you would." Clary took a daring step towards him, having to look up more than she was when she was farther back. On the inside she regretted doing so, believing that he might just hit her to prove a point to...someone. But she was too far in the hole she accidentally dug herself. She figured Lucas was the type to be mostly bark but wouldn't bite out of respect. That was a mouthful but to Clary it made sense...sort of. But her logic of thinking wasn't what she was supposed to be worried about.
"I think you just like proving a point of any kind." Clary told Lucas in a somewhat quieter tone because the distance between them wasn't that far. It felt weird though, she never got this close to people unless it was maybe her siblings when they were fighting or her parents.

"Or would I?" Lucas asked darkly as he dropped his hand from his stomach before grabbing her wrist with it. "Now back off, he said harshly. She really shouldn't have stepped closer. It only made it easier for him to grab her arm. In a way, he didn't see this as violating his upbringing. He hadn't hit her, and it was debatable that he would. While this wasn't a life-or-death situation, he was rather proud and didn't take defeat of any sort lightly.
"And what sort of point do you think I'm proving here?" he asked, dropping some of the darkness in his tone as well as dropping her wrist. They were starting to get strange looks, and he didn't want to be seen hitting or grabbing a woman. He did have an image he wanted to protect. "Let me remind you that you know absolutely nothing about me. Absolutely [flipping] nothing."

Clary wanted to pull her wrist away badly but thought about how much joy that might give him in knowing he may have frightened her. "You wouldn't." Her tone was very edgy, almost revealing how she really felt btw when he released her Clary felt calm again. He worried her sometimes. Mainly because his was very unpredictable. She figured that was a good way to put it for now until she can think of another word.
"My suspicions would be that you are trying to prove a point to yourself." She told him, her arms glued to her sides, and it took ore effort trying to relax them then keep them by her side. What was his problem?

"Then I would have to say that your suspicions are wrong," Lucas said simply as he shot a glare in her direction. "I don't need to prove anything to myself because I know what I'm capable of." Oh, she was lucky that they were in a public place. If they weren't he likely would have hit her out of anger despite being raised to not hit a girl. He preferred to think of that as a general guideline, which eased his conscience when he did hit one.
"Now back off," he threatened, reaching his right hand out slightly to suggest that he would grab her arm again if he felt he needed to. "Go meet your friends or do whatever. Just leave me alone."

"And I will. Later. I want to know why you are so angry that you are willing to take it out on me of all people." Clary was tempted to ask if he wanted to talk elsewhere but she figured he would say so if Lucas really wanted to. She did flinch a little when he seemed poised to grab her but Clary felt immediate embarrassment and anger at herself. She didn't want him to be satisfied knowing he had successfully put Clary on edge. That was obviously something you don't reveal to an enemy. Clary's gaze searched Lucas's. She could tell he was hurting, from something but it was hard to tell what kind of pain it was.
{Sorry, kind of short}

"I said leave me alone," Lucas repeated darkly. "That means stay the [flip] out of my business." With that said, he turned around sharply and began to walk away from Clary before he did something to damage his image. While he was rude and an [butt] (which was putting it lightly), he did need to maintain the image of being a decent person. His appearance was one of the few things he had, and he was determined to maintain complete control of it. "And I better not see you again," he mumbled to himself, not caring if she heard the final comment.
(It's fine ^^ Heh... "Hurting from something" is the understatement of the year.)

(Hmmm... Well, she could follow him, or she could meet up with her friends and then run into him as a group. With that, he would likely pull off a charming act to mess with her. Or, she could ask her parents about him in an attempt to try learn more about him. I'm sure there's rumors about him.)

{Let's do the second one, I like messing with my OCs}
As soon as Lucas turned around, Clary flicked him off while his back was turned. She hated when people did that, not giving her a straightforward answer. She took a deep breath trying to regain her composure that Clary never seemed to possess. It was hard reminding herself that her friends would be headed to the food court right now, and food was always something to look forward to. She went to the bathroom to put some water on her hair, and keep the flyaways down since she didn't have any hair spray on her. But she was too late before Alyssa Barrientos, Katelyn Britzkie, and Kamryn Hayes showed up as she walking to the bathroom. Clary reluctantly followed them though when they called her over. "Come on! You can do your hair later, you look great anyway." Kamryn told her, obviously sick of Clary's pessimistic attitude on her appearance. "Shut up. You know I don't. But whatever, I'll come." Clary rolled her eyes.

(Alright ^^)
As he walked away from Clary, Lucas' gaze went to the names of the stores to his right and left. Neither one sold what he needed, so he continued walking. It didn't take him long to find a store that might sell what he was looking for. He walked in and almost immediately got the attention of two older teenagers. As he made his way to the guys' side of the store, he searched for short-sleeve shirts as he rolled his eyes at what the girls were saying.
"I wonder how old he is." "Does that even matter? He looks pretty hot despite the glasses." "And did you see his tattoo? I wonder how much it hurt..." "Then maybe you should go talk to him." "No way! I don't even know him."
Lucas groaned to himself as he continued to look for a shirt. "Why the hell do they not have a blue shirt?" he grumbled to himself. Most of his shirts were white, gray, or some shade of blue, and he had no intention of changing that.

{Well of course}
"Who? Him?" Clary gestured toward Lucas. She wasn't sure how they could possibly act so...like that to Lucas. He wasn't horrible to look at, but then you meet his personality and it makes Clary want to tear someone's head off of their shoulders. "Ew, why would you think he's cute?" "What's wrong with you Clary? Have you seen him?" Alyssa asked, obviously boy crazy. "Yeah I've seen him, I've met him. He is...not a nice word I'll tell you that much." Clary rolled her eyes looking through the clothes trying to act nonchalant about everything

(Yep yep ^^)
At this point in his life, Lucas had learned how to tune out the comments girls made about him. However, that didn't stop him from hearing what Clary said. He grumbled some unkind things about her under his breath as he pulled a light blue shirt from the rack in the two sizes that were most likely to fit him. With shirts, it really was a guessing game with size because one brand could have one size that fit, but in another brand he would have to go up or down a size. He then let out a sigh as he unfolded both shirts and held them up to his chest. He couldn't decided which one was likely the better fit just from that, so he let out another sigh. It looked like the only option he had now was trying on both shirts.

"Will you guys be quiet?" Kamryn sounded embarrassed, her cheeks were a pink color as she assumed that the slightly older boy could hear them. Clary didn't care though, she did not want her friend to be dating a vampire, especially that one. She even hoped that Lucas heard her comments. "Are you a little embarrassed Kamryn?" Katelyn teased, she had a large and somewhat stupid grin on her face as she was obviously just as embarrassed as Kamryn. Clary just continued looking through the clothes before she heard her name called by Katelyn, "What is his name though I'd you have already met him?" "His name is Harambe." Clary was pissed off, she didn't want to talk about or to Lucas. "Fine, be rude. We'll go figure his name out for ourself." Katelyn said, she sounded like she only half meant it though. "Okay, go knock yourselves out." Clary sighed, but secretly wanted to watch her friends flirt with Lucas. But it seemed like her prayers were answered now because Katelyn, Kamryn, and Alyssa were headed over there.

...And he hadn't been able to tune out that conversation. Lucas held both shirts in his left hand as he pushed his right one through his hair. He really didn't want to talk to any of those girls. All though... They were friends with Clary, and she obviously did not like him because of their encounter earlier. Well, maybe he could mess with her by completely charming her friends. He was quite capable of doing so despite his tendency toward being rude and angry. As the girls approached him, Lucas turned slightly to see them. They didn't have to know that he overheard their conversation with Clary.

Clary watched silently as her friends began introducing themselves. "Hi, I'm Katelyn, and this is my friend Alyssa. We just um..." Clary was hoping for something more intresting, like Alyssa would fall on her face on the way there. But she was more concerned for them if anything. What if he acted rude to them? They would be so crushed,by believing that Lucas was such a nice guy by judging his looks first.

Lucas nodded as the girls introduced themselves and dropped his hands to his sides. There were three of them, yet only two had been introduced. "And you were just going to introduce your other friend," he said slowly. He assumed that Katelyn was unsure of what to say because of the belief that talking to a cute boy was difficult. "Anyway, I'm Lucas," he said, making sure that his tone was just loud enough for Clary to hear his name. They had never actually introduced themselves during their previous encounter.

Clary figured he was just trying to get on her nerves. Stupid boys. She might as well call him Harambe just because she can. Clary looked up from what she was doing, "Yeah okay Harambe." She said in a sarcastic tone. Clary didn't approach him though, she didn't feel like getting within at least a ten foot perimeter of him. Her other friend was almost cowering in the midst of the clothes. All of them were pretty socially awkward except for maybe Clary. But she was more rude than anything really, if she feels like it.

Lucas briefly looked at Clary before turning his attention to her friends, having no visible reaction to being called Harambe. "Well, it was nice to meet you," he said. "But I need to try on these shirts." After speaking, he turned to head to the back of the store where the fitting rooms were. He let out a sigh to himself as he saw that the "doors" weren't really doors; they were curtains. Well, maybe this could work to his advantage. If Clary's friends had followed him to the back, it was possible they could catch a glimpse of him changing in the gap between the curtain and the wall.

Clary could tell Katelyn had an idea, that look on her face told her so. She wanted to ask what the hell was wrong with her but she did not want to give away what her friend was doing. However, Lucas seemed well aware that they might follow him. That sneaky little- "Clary, why don't you think he is cute?" Alyssa asked quietly. "He should be shot like he gorilla I compared him to." Clary retorted. "Go be a pervert and watch him change then." Clary said very quietly. Alyssa looked offended by it did not stop her from looking anyway

Inside the dressing room, Lucas set the shirts he was going to try on the bench before pulling off his shirt and tossing it beside the other two. He picked up one of the new shirts, not bothering to check the size, and stood with it in his hands as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes immediately went to his tattoos, now fully exposed. The one on his upper arm consisted of solid bands, and the other one ran along his lower chest and abdomen, "spelling" his name with Roman numerals. He then quickly pulled on the shirt, not wanting to focus on why he had originally gotten the tattoos and the associated messy emotions.

Clary watched as Katelyn put a hand over her mouth as Clary had assumed was the time Lucas took off his shirt. She must be keeping herself from shouting 'Oh my God you are so freaking hot!'. Clary hated to admit to herself that he was cute, she could never tell her friends that. They would never let it go.

Lucas ran his hands down his chest as he looked at his reflection in the mirror to see how the shirt fit. It was maybe a little tight across his shoulders and upper arms, but it didn't prevent him from having a full range of motion. He turned and picked up the other shirt he had brought in to try on. It was the smaller of the two. He then set it down and turned to look at himself in the mirror again to decide if it was too tight for comfort. He quickly decided that it wasn't, so he took it off and put his shirt back on.
