we were talking in my APUSH class about this and it's kinda confusing to me. the party system was different back then, and the Republicans were the ones who supported large government involvement, which was a democratic idea. the Democrats back then were southern farmers and called themselves the "white man's party" while advocating for less government involvement. the parties flip flopped decades later, and Lincoln's views now fall towards that of modern day Democrats. since his ideas were opposite of those of the current Republican party, why is that party always trying to take credit for his actions?

the same reason republicans keep saying "the democrats are the ones who started the KKK, THEY'RE the racist ones" when it was actually the ones with conservative views that started the KKK, even though they called themselves democrats

I'm glad you feel very strongly about a certain candidate, can't say I care about any of them. I don't believe I've heard her speech in China, could you give me a link to that please? (I'm going to answer the main topic on separate post, just wanted to go ahead and post this)

(I'm going to answer the main topic on separate post, just wanted to go ahead and post this) nah man it's cool i responded with too much animosity. her speech was called Women's Rights Are Human Rights (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_Rights_Are_Human_Rights there's a video of the whole thing on YouTube, but it's 20 minutes long and as amazing as it u probably just want a like summary) and was apolitical as that's an idea all parties should agree on.
