Welcome to MountainClan!
The Fierce and Strong!
The Fierce and Strong!
--Introduction--
You have stumbled upon the base of a mountain, the pebbles at the base smooth against your paws. Hoping you can get a better look of your surroundings, you start to climb it. You have only gotte partway when you encounter a large brown tom. His frame is large and muscles ripple under his pelt."This is MountainClan territory,” He warns you. “My name is Boulderstar. If you have come to trespass, I will have to chase you out. If you have come to join, follow me." You hesitate then say “MountainClan?” You tilt your head to the side. “Never heard of it.” Boulderstar looks at you, his amber eyes bright. “I’ll show you!” He twitched his tail, gesturing for you to follow. “You can learn as we go along.” Do you follow him? Its up too you...............
--Rules--
Follow all the Forum Rules as well as the Ghost Rules. I don’t want this Clan to be deleted because someone was out of line.
No kit stealing or kit killing. The rule on kit stealing can bend if you ask the owner of the kit if it is alright. Kit killing is strictly prohibited. If you want to kill off the kit you are Rping, wait until they are an apprentice to do so.
Please be respectful to others and try not to leave anyone out. I don't want bullying. I want everyone to feel welcome here. If I find you are being rude, I will make you leave the Clan and either give your character to someone else or delete it all together.
No Mary-sues or Gary-sues. I don’t want any perfect cats or God-modding. Each of your cats has to have at least one flaw.
No swearing (cat swearing is allowed). I want this to be appropriate for all ages. Also on that topic, I don’t want any gruesome deaths or injuries.
No role-playing others' characters. The only exception is when the owner of the character specifically asks another forumer to do so because they will be gone.
Do not kill others' characters. Period. If the owner of the character wants to kill one off, they can do so, but you are not allowed to take it upon yourself by having your character kill theirs. You can ask, but respect their decision.
No spamming. You are allowed to come and ask for someone, and have a Clan name or link in your signature, but I don’t want anything else.
Use ( ), { }, or [ ] when not role-playing. I don’t want anyone to be confused when someone is talking outside of the rp.
Please be realistic. No powers, wings, odd colored fur, or odd colored eyes.
You may create multiple cats as long as you Rp regularly.
Please keep the gender ratio slightly even. No making two she-cats in a row. Make a tom to balance it out.
Please try and be active! I understand that everyone has other things to do or might be gone for long periods of time, so just let me know if you won't be on for a while. Your character will be given to someone else if you disappear and aren’t on for two weeks. (The code for the joining form is the first letter of your username and then the word joker, so mine would be Ljoker) If you have an important role such as Deputy or Medicine Cat and haven't been active for a while, I will remove you from that position and place you as a Warrior or Apprentice, depending on what role you had, and give a more active member the position.
Please have text in a readable font and color. I am perfectly fine with a different color or smaller font, but please make it readable. Some colors clash with the background, or small words get mixed up in my head, so for my sake, make the font readable.
No one-liners. It is hard to respond to the one-liners, so please write at lease two lines. Also, don’t make your sentences short without any description.
Let me know which character(s) you are! You don't have to write down ~Somethingpaw~, and then start your rp, but at some point within each post, please say your character’s name(s)
I am open for suggestions on plots and prophecies for the Clan, but please, if you think of something, let me know and ask my permission before you start a big plot, like a prophecy or a journey. Simpler plots and ideas such as love interests, minor fights with predators, or things between certain characters don't need my permission, but make sure it's okay with others if it involves them.
If you have any concerns or if something is bothering you, please let me know, I'm always willing to help or adjust things for you.
Have fun! We are all welcoming and kind, and will make sure you feel like part of the clan!
--Territory--
MountainClan territory is the mountains.
--Important Territory Markers--
Apprentice Cave: A downward sloping cave leading to a large den with sand where the apprentices train.
Drop-off: a massive drop-off to a medium size pool. A waterfall created the pool.
Rock-Fall: A series of rocks out in the sun. Like Sunningrocks.
Alpines: The best hunting spot surrounded by alpine trees.
OceanClan Border: on the east side of the territory. Border is a hill of rocks.
SandClan Border: on the north side of the territory. Border is a smaller river.
LeafClan Border: on the west side of the territory. Border is the trees.
--Camp--
The camp is a cozy valley surrounded by pillars of rocky hills. The only way in or out is a dark tunnel through one of the slopes.
--Dens--
Leader's den: Beside a large rock where he calls meetings and underneath a pile of rocks stacked together.
Medicine den: inside a deep crack. There is a small pocket where the the herbs and nests are stored, and a dip where the wounded stay. A small trickle of water collects in a pool.
Warriors' den: The path into the warrior's den is a small tunnel into the mountain. It opens up into a wide space with lots of nests.
Apprentices' den: it is smaller than the warrior's, but there are other caves separating from the main one, just in case the main den gets too full.
Nursery: a fallen log that was dragged up the mountain. Thick brambles intertwine the walls of the nursery, and a gap as an entrance.
Elder's den: The elder's den is next to the nursery, deep inside the rock with a layer of moss covering the entrance. A slightly long and dark tunnel leads to the actual den.

--Battle Moves--
Back Kick - Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all weight on your front paws.
Belly Rake - A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws against the soft flesh of the opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back into control.
Front Paw Blow - Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed.
Front Paw Strike/Forepaw Slash - Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the face or body of your opponent.
Killing Bite - A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort.
Leap-and-hold - Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed.
Partner Fighting - Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.
Play Dead - Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes their grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position.
Scruff Shake - Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponents neck; then shake violently until he or she is too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.
Tail Yank - Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force your opponent is thrown off balance.
Teeth Grip - Target your opponent's extremities- the legs, tail, scruff or ears- and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight.
Upright Lock - Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip him under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed.
Half-Turn Belly Rake - Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent.
Badger Defense: Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers.
Duck and Twist: Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto their back, and then springs to their paws.
Jump and pin: Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off the wall. With precise accuracy, land on the cat.
