She actually was not that close. They were in the gorge near the old forest (and by they, I mean the chosen few that went there). The other cats would've had to take her all the way back to the lake. And even if she did understand where she was, I doubt she knew. The Skyclan cats didn't know much about the others when they made their journey.

Regardless, I don't think it would've mattered, because she would've had no way to alert the other Skyclan cats... She basically would have been like Birdflight from the original Skyclan...
