Logan:
Logan gave a small nod of his head to indicate that he was listening to her. He wasn't much of a converser, though. A man of little words, really. Sometimes it was just easier that way. "The Avengers get into enough trouble without my help," he said with a roll of his eyes. "As is evident now." His eyes travelled towards the lively holiday room, where the Avengers and their friends were setting up decorations and preparing for a decorating war of sorts. Logan wasn't interested in being a part of those festivities. He leaned heavily into the wall.
John:
John blinked slowly at Lyudmila, catching her eyes upon him. His keen senses allowed him not to miss a beat, and his eyes narrowed at the slight shake of her head. She didn't approve of him? Ah, neither did the brother, apparently. "As mutants, we always pose as a threat to someone," he said a bit begrudged, offering a disappointed shake of his head. It was a reason that so many mutants were in hiding, why so many were being hunted like animals. While Xavier believed that mutants and humans could live in harmony and Magneto believed that mutants were the only ones who should exist, John flocked with a third group of secretive mutants who both acted as a resistive force and a refuge.
Despite being a soldier, always prepared for a fight and often thoughtlessly provoking one, he had been brought up by Xavier, and he didn't agree with the beliefs Magneto held. He didn't want a full-out war between mutant and humankind. But with all the hatred that he'd witnessed, he had a hard time believing in the notion that humans and mutants could live in peace, something he'd been taught at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. As a result, John had found the Mutant Underground, and it was no surprise he'd become their leader. Now it was his job to offer a hidden, safe place for mutants, as well as quietly fight against the people and organizations who wanted to take them out.
"It should be no shock that suspicion is in my nature," John continued simply, crossing his muscled arms across his chest. Because of who he was: a mutant. His eyes flickered between the two siblings before focusing on Irinei. "You don't know me, and I don't know you. If I trusted every new mutant that I met, I'm not sure that I'd be better off." Still, that didn't mean that John wouldn't have allowed Irinei (or any other mutant he'd just met) refuge if they needed it. Although it wasn't in his nature to trust right away, it was in his nature to care. Sometimes it got him into trouble. "Do you usually trust people you've just met?"
Quill:
Peter was proudly basking in Tony Stark's compliment until he heard the name 'porcupine'. "Porcu--" He froze, staring at the man in armor. "Did you seriously just call me porcupine?" He crossed his arms, and then shook his head, muttering to himself. Whatever. They were on the same team. Iron Man could say whatever he wanted. It didn't matter, really, because they were going to win this decorating war. No one else had thought about decorating the trees. Ha! Peter glanced once at Rocket, and then towards Iron Man, and then he took off towards the exit.

Rocket:
For a moment, Rocket considered protesting the addition of Stark to their already dangerously chaotic teamup, but he didn't bother. The two were making a beeline for the door outside before he could even open his mouth. Instead, he simply let out a heavy sigh and muttered, "I'm getting too old for this crap." He didn't have that long a lifespan, after all. And it didn't help by getting in the middle of risky situations like these between two idiot humans with enormous egos and a 50/50 chance of setting the entire base on fire. Oh well. Their idea of decorating the trees outside wasn't that bad, and if it meant winning this war, so be it. Rocket was here for a good time, not a long time, right?
He smirked, shook his head to himself, and headed after the others, though in not quite as much of a rush. This was either going to earn them the spot of top decorators or end in compete disaster.
Vision:
Vision couldn't have helped the smile that spread across his face at the sight of Wanda if he tried. He matched her soft volume as he responded, "It does." He almost let something like 'any time I spend without you feels like forever' slip out, but, though it was true, saying so seemed... unnecessary. Instead, all he added was, "I'm glad to see you again," and hoped that sufficed.
The truth was, though, that was a massive understatement. Seeing her again didn't just make him 'glad,' it set off an array of emotions that still surprised him every time. Wanda made him more human than he thought possible just by being so effortlessly herself. The way her eyes sparkled and her nose scrunched slightly when she smiled and the lightness of her laugh and how he could talk to her about anything and she would understand and her selfless heart that seemed it could encompass every innocent person in need of protection in this world and— Well, simply put, his efficiently programmed brain could go on for hours without ceasing, and now was not exactly the best time.
Vision didn't know how long this Christmas party would last, how long he would get to spend time with her, so he wanted to make the best of it.

Tom:
Tom had an issue with how many people were around now. It meant more of a challenge. He sniffed, frowning first at Tony, than Rocket. Then his eyes swiveled around to Natasha and his eyebrows rose. "This is fun," he said, spinning a plastic candy cane around in his fingers.
There seemed to be an implication in his voice that he intended to have a bit of a contest whether she thought it best or not. He also didn't care what the others did. The others could join him or they could do their own thing. In the end, he was very settled on doing what he saw as most high speed and fast paced.
In this case, he picked up a couple more decorations, acknowledged that a couple people were heading in their own directions, and instead headed for a window. He'd start by hanging his plastic candy cane from the blinds.
Eveline:
She nodded to Bucky, glad for the suggestion. She was good at carrying the decorations too. There didn't seem to be any struggle as she lifted up a box that looked like it should have been pretty heavy. From the looks of it, it had lights. Certainly enough for the stairs, when they got to them.
"You don't mind the challenge?" she asked, since both Natasha and Steve seemed to be having different views about it. To her, it seemed decently even. She didn't mind what they did. Though she could admit that showing up Tom would please her. Peter also seemed like he was enjoying himself, so she supposed that was a good thing.

Peter Quill:
Peter ignored any protest from Rocket as he escaped into the outdoors. There was a light snow falling from the grey sky, and a fluffy coat had already started to gather on the grass. He stepped into the snow and then looked up at the trees, searching for the tallest one. He blinked back the snowflakes poking at his eyes and walked towards a swath of trees. Christmas lights on the trees at night reminded him of the stars and spaceships shining in space, and he was thinking of this as he set his box of decorations on the ground and stopped at a tree he thought would do the trick. Grinning to himself, he began to untangle his lights.
Bucky:
Bucky set his decorations down at the base of the stairs, and he shrugged upon hearing Eveline's question. "Challenges are no stranger to me," he said, "and a challenge like this is more like a game. There are no real stakes to worry about." Except maybe Peter or one of the others overreacting if they lost. But it didn't really seem like something anyone could lose. Despite it being called a decorating war, there wasn't much of a battle about it. "What are your opinions on such challenges?" he asked, beginning to rifle through some garland.
Cap:
Mediator it was. Steve stepped back from his box of decorations and let his eyes travel the room, hands on his hips. There was a group heading outside, another for the stairwell, and the rest of them seemed to be happy with decorating the main room (for now). Maybe he should just be the judge, as well as the mediator. Someone needed to decide who the winner of the 'war' was. But, he wasn't so sure about choosing sides. That never really ended well amongst friends. Steve let out a small breath and then he headed for the kitchen to get some snacks for the crew inside.

Steve:
Not too invested in the outcome of their decorating war, Steve had found his way into the kitchen. His eyes browsed the cabinets, and he found a box of hot chocolate packets. It wasn't exactly the way he'd done it back home, but apparently it was supposed to be convenient, and he had to admit that it was. All it took was a bit of boiling water and in went the cocoa powder. Steve grabbed the tea kettle from the stove top, filled it with water, and then set it back on the burner. He rummaged the cabinets for a few mugs, and then he leaned back against the counter with arms crossed and waited for the kettle to whistle. Boiling water -- now that was something he'd done plenty of in the past.
Bucky:
"I wonder how the others are doing." Bucky stopped messing around with his tinsel and let it dangle from the stairs, half-done. A long sigh escaped his parted lips as he looked over at Eveline. Not that he didn't love decorating as much as the next guy, but this wasn't exactly how he'd imagined spending his evening (not that he had any plans, either). Some of the others seemed to be really into the war, but it wasn't really a fight he was interested in. "I say we ditch this decorating war and get outta here."

Percival:
Perhaps it was to avoid the fireplace, perhaps it was to avoid the rowdiness of everyone, but he headed toward where Steve had disappeared. He approached, steps quiet, and hands in his pockets.
"Would you set up a cup for me as well?" he asked politely, voice calm. He seemed set on ignoring the situation behind him and was decently okay if it stayed that way. He did glance over his shoulder however. The kitchen wasn't a good location to get much of a view of the shenanigans, however.
He glanced back and hummed under his breath, "Getting board with the antics?" he asked. "Or are they not the antics you're used to?"
He was decently sure that Tom admired Steve in some respect, but he also didn't think Steve saw why. He might be surprised at the reasoning. But Tom seemed occupied with the same shenanigans that Percival had mentioned.
Eveline:
Eveline almost relaxed at Bucky's statement and nodded her head. "Sounds like a plan. Where to though?"
She didn't mind ditching, but she would like to have a bit of an idea of where they would be going.
She set aside her own decorations and sat up a bit, eyes bright and she pulled back her hair. She did glance around, as if expecting Tom to notice what they were doing. Not that she cared, but she was still paying attention to her surroundings.

Steve:
Steve looked up at the approaching footsteps and drew his eyes from the boiling water towards Percival. "Ah, come company," he said, getting out another mug. He slid it across the counter in Percival's direction and then set his own down beside it. The tea kettle began to whistle quietly and then more fiercely, and he shut off the stove and lifted the kettle. He brought the kettle over towards the counter and set it down on a hot plate. Warm steam lifted from the spout. "I'm having hot chocolate, but I saw some tea bags. Which do you want?" He slapped a few hot chocolate bags on the countertop between them and grabbed one for himself.
As he tore the paper and began to pour his cocoa into his mug, he once more returned his eyes to Percival. "Not much of an antics person," he responded. "I've always been better at watching the fun."
Was there a reason Percival had chosen to leave the party, as well? He studied the other man as he poured the steaming water over the powdery contents of his mug.
Bucky:
"Hmm...." Bucky's eyes turned around the room like he expected an idea to pop out at him, but alas, one did not. He let out a frustrated "hmft", and then said, "I didn't think that far out. But, I'm sure we could find something. Head out into town, maybe catch a few Christmas lights? I hear they've gotten better over the years. Not like the festivals I used to go to." He'd always loved Christmas lights, and he remembered the many Christmas dances he'd gone to. But he heard that the Christmas lights now danced themselves. "We could see if any of the others want to come? Or we could just sneak out? You got your dancing shoes?" His eyes glimmered in the dim lighting. It'd be nice to feel like 'Bucky' again, instead of just the Winter Soldier.

Percival
"Huum," Percival intoned. He didn't seem to mind the fact that he was being offered hot chocolate and he didn't seem tempted to actually fetch anything else. This would do. Instead, he just seemed to watch Steve and alternate between looking around and back at him again.
"Well? What would you prefer to do?" he asked smoothly after a second. "What is it that you'd like to make out of this night?"
It seemed to him like they were all at the edge of nothing. That there wasn't anything driving Percival in particular forward. He had no friends here.
But he at least had an interest. He wondered about Steve.
Eveline:
"I don't have literal dancing shoes," Eveline admitted with an eyebrow raise. "But I am certainly interested in what this idea of yours is. Sneaking out."
She let her head tilt to the side and then she nodded.
"It sounds like a good plan to me. I can't really think of a better way to use up my time."
As mentioned, she hadn't actually been that motivated by the idea of a decorating war. She was however curious what Bucky had in mind.

Steve:
As Steve brought a spoon to his hot chocolate and began to mix the contents, he stared past Percival and pondered the question he'd just asked. What did he want out of this night? Did he want anything at all? "Bucky was always the one to drag me into trouble," he found himself saying. The conversation always seemed to be drawn towards his friend. Speaking of... where was Bucky? "I suppose I could use a night out. Been a while since I've done something for myself." Which was odd to even think about. Everything he'd ever done was motivated by other people and making a difference in the world. So, would the world be okay if he took a night off for once?
Bucky:
"I know a few places," Bucky said, beginning to grin. "Grab a coat, Eveline. Let's get out of here." The world might have changed a lot since the 1900s, but he still knew a good time. And what better than a dance and a festival of lights on Christmas? He held out his hand to her, inviting her to travel with him to the outside, wintery world.
(Omsc. I don't really know what they should do. But what if Bucky & Eveline sneak out and Steve & Percival sneak out. And then maybe we encounter a robbery or something? And Bucky & Eveline and Steve & Percival bump into each other in trying to stop this thief? And they're like, "What are you doing here?" XD)

Percival:
"Yes, I assumed that was the case," Percival said, as if he was unsurprised over any of the statements that Steve had just made. "I would also think that you would have a chance to do such a thing. It is Christmas after all. You doing something for yourself is not a failing."
He indicated the door. "After you, then? I am willing, of course, to join you. If you wanted company, of course."
Eveline:
Taking Bucky's hand, Eveline nodded. "Of course. Lead the way."
Then she followed after him, wondering where exactly he was taking her. Where ever it was, it was probably more interesting than here, which was just fine by her.
