Okay. Wow. Um, so what I'm about to share is regarding making a YouTube channel for music covers. Only, the covers would most likely be anime and vocaloid covers (seeing as I am trash), with some more operatic and darker sounding musical pieces such as Ave Maria thrown in there as well.
Well, er, I currently only have a phone recorder to work with. And, I need feedback to see if actually starting a channel would be worth it. So, um...I need you to judge my singing. I have provided four pieces, one of which is from an anime (Psycho Pass to be exact), two are vocaloid songs, and one is a solo I sang for choir. They are a capella, and I am in my dorm and utterly nervous about anyone outside my room hearing me, so higher notes do occasionally cut off then back in because I did not sing high enough. That being said, um...
(I also apologize for those few lyrics I mispronounced. This was comprised rather hastily.)
I guess judge my singing, and if you wouldn't mind if I made a YouTube channel for covers.
Nameless Monster (Namai no nai Kaibutsu) This is using a more adult and mature voice. It isn't too dark, but it isn't childish or cutesy either.
Can't I Even Dream? (Yume Mite mo ii ja Nai wo) This utilizes a more soft and childish cutesy voice.
This a darker, more adult voice I use for operatic and choir pieces. I apologize for that high note. As a consolation, I will share that time I tried to imitate a bat.
Alice Human Sacrifice (Hitobashira Alice) This utilizes five different styles of voice, one in a lower range. (I apologize for those lower notes, I am a first soprano and can only go so low.) My goal is to show the variety that can be done in a single song.

Um. Is it bad? I don't know what to correct if I receive no critical feedback. I need to know if starting a youtube channel for covers can actually work or not, and that depends on people's output.

I feel like you're pushing your voice too much sometimes. You voice is also shaking sometimes?? idk lmao And yes, for your higher notes, try to make a fuller sound, instead of using a head voice, because it seems like you could definitely make them sound better (especially bc first soprano). I personally don't like the "cutesy" one, as your voice seems too nasally, and causes you to make some of the notes sound kind of strange. It would be better if you sang in a more natural, less bright, less nasally voice. My personal favourite was Alice Human Sacrifice (though it's possible you could work on the lower notes).
Overall, your singing is really good. As a fellow choir person, I'm sure you understand my criticism (not that you're a bad singer, but everyone can always improve). It would be nice for you to make a cover channel, as frankly, most japanese covers on youtube by non japanese people are utter crap and I think you do pretty well with it.

I agree with the higher notes and pushing my voice. I'm not too good at keeping a full voice when trying to sing softly, and am singing softly because I don't want to disturb the rest of my dorm hall. If I were by myself, I would belt the tune out. I would also pick more difficult songs that require me to reach farther. Higher notes (like Toosenbo), and different pitches (like Lilium and Kuusou Mesorogiwi). As for my voice, I am extremely nervous and constantly switch between different talking voices. For this duration, I was singing for stranger's approval, and so was nervous. I usually speak in a less high pitched voice. But, it is still rather high pitched. Seriously, it's...weird. Sadly, I don't have a strong chest voice, so I default to head mostly. If I do sing with my chest on higher notes, it tends to sound less adult and more childish due to my high pitched voice. As for the shakiness, I tend to overdo vibrato, as I have a particularly strong one. That all being said, thank you so much for telling me this. And, in order to prove that I have learned a bit from your advice, here is my attempt at Magia. ^^ vocaroo.com/i/s1kTdEbgqy8H

So I listened to just Magia so far cause that's my favorite song by my favorite Japanese band and I like it. I don't know much about singing cause I wasn't taught much in my school singing groups when I was in them and I never got the voice lessons I wanted but I listen to a lot of cover artists and with just what I heard for Magia you sound really good to me. I am friends with the cover artist Adriana Figueroa on Facebook and she responds to messages sometimes. You might be able to get some advice from her if you ask. She is one of my favorite YouTube artists and she is really good. All in all I like what I have heard so far and I'll give the other stuff a listen but I just wanted to say that.

Ah, thank you Ghostling. I honestly do appreciate the feedback. It's just...performing in front of people is easy. But, when it comes to online, and in a different language? It is much more...confidence shattering. Especially when only three people or so respond. I know I would get better feedback if it were in English, but I had no English songs that were quite enough to keep from disturbing everyone else.
I might share the song I wrote, or least a bit of it, as I relate to it and it isn't too loud.
