... the reason people put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving is because if they wait any later, it could end up being too cold to set them up? It only gets colder from here on out, and my family used to set up lights beginning of November when we used to live in the middle of a town. We don't do it now since we live in the middle of nowhere, but logically, it's better to set up when the weather isn't freezing.
So before complaining about how people are "too excited" for Christmas, think about this; would you prefer to set up when the snow is falling, and the temperatures are below freezing, or would you rather do it when the weather is still bearable?
And, besides that, nobody should dictate how excited someone is for a holiday anyways. If it makes them happy, it makes them happy. Just. Let. Them. Be. Happy. I've seen people all across the internet trying to shame people for being excited (can name a few facebook friends -.-). Just leave them alone, okay?

That's true. But again, people are allowed to be excited. And it's not hurting you any (unless a giant reindeer decides to fall... then there would kinda be a problem)

I get what you mean, but when people around where I live put their decorations up in October and leave their lights up until like April, I get sort of sick of seeing them. especially when it's far south enough for them to wait until at least Mid-November or Early-December to put them up. idk, I just wish people where I lived weren't so lazy and actually took their stuff down on time, if that makes sense?
anyways, put your decorations up when you want, the main thing for me is I just don't want to hear awful Christmas music on the radio before at least December 1st.

Yeah, older people do have a more sensitivity to the weather.
Though the Christmas music I do agree with wholeheartedly. Thanksgiving is a great holiday and shouldn't be pushed out of the way by Christmas, even though I do love Christmas. Thanksgiving is another personal favorite.

If I remember correctly my dad kept the Christmas lights up sometimes the whole year. But he never put them on. But again we were living in the middle of nowhere at this point so it didn't matter anyways. Yeah Christmas music too early is kinda cringey for me

There's a difference between putting lights up, and actually turning them on. Speaking as someone who lives in an area where it's typically too cold to put up Christmas lights after Thanksgiving (even after Halloween sometimes).

setting up lights early to beat snow is fine doesn't mean they have to be plugged in that early
also i live in texas where it doesn't hit below 50 until dec so...

I once had neighbors who put up Halloween and Christmas decorations at the same time.

To each their own. I like seeing Christmas decorations early honestly, just as long as its not up year round (some people in my town has done that) but everyone can choose when they want to start and when they don't.
But music is the only thing that irritates me too early in all honesty.

I feel like some people also don't celebrate Thanksgiving? Like, for a while my aunt, who is from out of country didn't celebrate Thanksgiving? It's an American holiday. I think Canada also celebrated their Thanksgiving in October, if google is anything to go by. American's Thanksgiving celebrates coming to America. I don't know what other countries Thanksgiving celebrates but I'm fairly certain it's another day, if I'm wrong kindly correct me.

Christmas deocrations are my favourite thing, honestly. I live for christmas lights. And awful Christmas music is my favourite thing. It's so dark in the winter I don't know what I'd do without Christmas decorations. Anyway, if you want to sing Christmas songs with me in July, I'm totally on board.

I'm just saying that some people don't celebrate it either because they choose not to or they are not used it. If I remember correctly what my Aunt said, they don't have a holiday like Thanksgiving she comes from.

In America though, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be celebrated. It's not even about food, it's about giving thanks. So... I wouldn't know there ^^; though I find it a good day for an excuse to become gluttonous but I do like to give thanks too. It's a good holiday in my mind
