I understand your concern, but it may not be a tumor. Even if it is, it might not be cancerous. Dogs get a lot of bumps, usually just cists that aren't harmful. It is a good idea to take her to the vet, though, like you're doing. Just in case.

Either way you should probably get it checked out just to be safe. My sister had a dog that had had multiple fatty lumps that weren't that bad but when she was 3, she was diagnosed with advanced cancer and died three weeks later. Hate to worry you, but you can't play around with this stuff. My dog started having digestive problems but we shrugged it off, we thought it was just something he ate. But a couple of weeks later we had to take him to the vet. He had pancreatiitis badly, was dehydrated and dying. He lived, thank God, our vet's a miracle worker, but I'm always overly cautious now because you never know. o.o Oh gosh that sounds terrible. Trust me, my dog is sent straight to a vet if she's showing signs of sickness. (Which almost never happens, but you get my point.) It was awful for my sister and the five + days my dog was in the vets office were like a living hell for me. That's good, because most of the time we know our pets well enough to know when they're out of character. I seem to have a cursed dog. He's always sick with something.

don't freak out yet. (a) a tumor on her belly so close to the surface would be easy to remove ( most surface tumors are benign
