Amazing story! I can't entirely relate on religion since I'm not religious, and have never grown up hearing being queer is a sin, luckily, but I am gay and the message you've shared is beautiful.

look splashy how about you stop going on threads and telling people they shouldn't love themselves like can you at least do that much to pretend you don't hate them Erm I don't hate her? I thought I made that clear like twice but...?

um sorry for my negativity before because apparently I didn't actually comment on the thread itself thank you for the story I don't have quite the same story because my parents, although (as far as I last heard) both Christian, don't see LGBT+ stuff as sins…they're…not exactly the best about it so I'm not really out to them, but I definitely have it better than many… I'm really glad a. that you've come to love yourself and b. that it looks like your dad is coming around too edit splashyLook…you say you don't hate LGBT+ people, and yet.
You come onto a thread where someone is saying "I can finally love myself"
and you tell them that their very existence is a sin
and that they don't know themselves, their own feelings.
Even if your intentions really are 100% pure, you need to understand
that people exist who are different from you
and their existence is not inherently bad.
I like both boys and girls. It isn't fun. It is real.
Telling people that their existence is evil
and that their identities are imaginary
is extremely hurtful. It is not helpful at all.
You need to understand this.
Even if you do not feel as if what you are saying is hateful,
it is.
When you disregard a person's identity, you disregard that person.
You are not "saving" anyone by telling them their existence is a sin.

but it's just not true. I wish you would understand that all of this is lies and deceit.

➳ my favorite thing is that asexuality usually confuses those homophobes so much Of course, they say you shouldn't have sex out of wedlock, or in any way other than the "natural way" (boring) but as soon as you say you're ace it's "no no you'll have feelings for someone everyone has to have sex everyone wants sex!!!!"

I deleted the comment to prevent a little flame war or fight Usually if someone says get off their thread, they mean don't comment on it. They don't share the same views as you, and you're probably not going to change their mind. I suggest we drop it.
